"Okay, you're a good boy," I pat his head. "I'll go see if they're still around here. You need to hide well," I respond, loading my weapons. I place the knives in my pants and boots and hang my bow and arrows.
"Sister, it could be dangerous for you if you go alone," he worries.
"I'll be fine. You hide well. I'll be back soon, but if I don't, you stay here, and when it dawns, you go look for Diana."
"Yes, sister," his eyes become a little teary. His hair is long; I should cut it a bit.
Quickly, I ran along the path from my cabin, looking for the nomadic wolves to kill them. It was a bit strange that they came so close when there is a perimeter I marked with traps, but for some reason, they didn't work.
Luckily for me, there was no trace of wolves near. The barrier protected us quite well, but someone was close to our safe perimeter, which is not good.
After checking well and ensuring our safety, I returned, and although I tried to see any wild animal, there was nothing. The nomads take care of eating everything that moves in the forest. Upon returning, there was only one plate of food on the small table we had. I frowned, looking at my brother.
"Sister, here's your dinner. I already had dinner, so you can eat peacefully."
"Don't lie to your older sister. I know you haven't eaten. This is the last piece of jerky I had stored in our cupboard, just one piece for one person."
"Sister, I..."
"Don't lie to me again, Alan. It's very bad to lie, especially to family. We said there would be no lies between us, remember?" My calm eyes look at him, so small and fragile. A child should be chubby and a little plump without going overboard, but her brother wasn't like that; he was thinner and lacked a lot of care that she couldn't provide, no matter how much she wanted to. Her low position didn't allow it.
"I'm very sorry, I won't do it again, sister. Please don't be angry," he lowers his gaze ashamed.
"Alan," she sighs, how to get angry with this baby. "The next time there's nothing to eat for both of us, you eat what there is and don't worry about me, kid. The most important thing is that you eat and don't get sick."
"But if I eat it, the sister will be left without anything to eat. The sister also has to eat. What if she gets sick?"
"Silly kid," she taps his forehead with her finger. "This sister can eat something outside. Besides, there are many edible roots and plants in the forest. I can look for something for myself now."
"Okay..." a bit reluctant, he sits down and begins to devour the meat, almost eating his fingers in the process. He bit them unintentionally several times.
"Now eat this, I'll go to work, and I'll get something to eat along the way for myself and try to bring something for us later," I mention, leaving the bow on the table.

Drinking has never been my forte, but that doesn't stop me from working in a bar as a night waitress. Fortunately, it's the best I've been able to get for someone in my position. But it wasn't a pleasant feeling to be an easy target in the eyes of others, but I couldn't find anything better than delivering drinks and receiving a pittance that sometimes helps get some bread.
Likewise, I'm careful of anyone who tries to get out of line. Luckily for me, my unpleasant and tiny devil waitress uniform. Actually, it's a supposed shorts that look like blood-red underwear made of leather and a blouse also red that looks like a leather bra with fishnet stockings and red heels with black heel tips. The only good thing is that it allows me to keep a small weapon, a knife with a deadly edge, small but dangerous.
She didn't have a phone; it was too expensive for her, and the one that was supposed to be for her, because of the bastard of her ex-mate, she didn't get it. If she had gotten it, she would have called Sebastian's parents to tell them all the garbage that that wretch has done with everyone and not for her in itself but for the other humans and omegas who are suffering because of him. But she couldn't and couldn't take it anymore. She would leave soon and wouldn't see them anymore.
She was really exhausted. She did everything she could to save money. She didn't want to spend a lot of money. Most of it would be used to leave the pack with Alan, and after leaving, they would look for a good place where omegas without wolves like her and in the company of Alan could live well and in peace, because thank God not all the packs were as shitty as her ex-family and that one.
She arrived at a small internet cafe that was in the center, and behind it was one of the entrances that lead to her cabin in the forest. She always with so many enemies in the same place letting a continuous routine be seen would be her doom, that's why she always changed the places where she entered. So after using the internet, she would return.
After reviewing the few jobs that were available, she saw that there were no more offers that she could take since she had done most of them, and the others were no longer ones that she could aspire to.
Then she decided to spend some time on the university's website to see if there was any extra work for her to do there. But she didn't see anything relevant, it was all about Sebastian and his upcoming official takeover party as the interim leader of the pack. And also that on that same day he would take his Luna and mark her and then the blessings of the goddess would arrive for his pack members through the pack's Luna.
What Sebastian didn't know was that his partner chosen by the moon goddess was the only one who would give the true promised blessings.
I ignored that and kept scrolling down when some photos caught my attention.
"Damn, that damn bitch Bianca uploaded these photos and everyone has already seen them and she very bitchily put an address and a phrase, I will kill her."
I left quickly and went to the cabin, and indicated some things to Alan and then left in the direction of the university where I knew that bitch would be, to whom I will rip off some strands today.
But what Serena didn't know was that today her life would take another turn.
