TAEKOOK ONESHOTS (Timeless. Ver)
Guilty as sin¿
Jungkook laid on the bed starting at the ceiling, a knock on the door bought him back.
Jeon Jungkook
*close his eyes and stood up*
Jungkook gathered his thoughts
The cafeteria was suffocating.
Jungkook had expected silence, but the low rumble of voices filled the air, bouncing off the concrete walls. The men who sat at the long tables weren’t the kind you wanted to make eye contact with. Most were older, some covered in faded scars and dark ink, their gazes hard and uninviting.
Jeon Jungkook
*swallowed thickly, tightening his grip on the tray he held*
His head lowered instinctively, eyes fixed on the floor as he shuffled forward in line.
Three months. Just three months
He repeated it like a mantra, his heart pounding louder than the buzzing chatter around him. The smell of cheap, lukewarm food filled the air, but Jungkook’s appetite had all but disappeared.
It was his turn at the counter
Jeon Jungkook
wordlessly extended his tray.
The server—an older woman with a tired expression—slopped something resembling stew onto his plate, followed by a scoop of overcooked vegetables.
Jeon Jungkook
*stepped aside, clutching his tray with both hands as he scanned the room*
The tables were crowded, but there were a few empty spots toward the back. He just needed to sit, eat quietly, and leave unnoticed.
Jeon Jungkook
*kept his head down as he walked, shoulders hunched in an effort to take up less space*
Jungkook found an empty table in the farthest corner.
Jeon Jungkook
*placed his tray down, sitting with his back to the room, eyes trained on his food*
The sounds of laughter and low curses behind him faded into the background.
Jeon Jungkook
*forced himself to take a bite*
It tasted as bad as it looked.
But it wasn’t the food that made him lose his appetite.
It was the feeling of being watched.
Jeon Jungkook
*grip on his spoon tightened*
He tried to ignore it, but the sensation of eyes boring into his back wouldn’t fade.
Suddenly, a loud bang echoed through the cafeteria.
Jeon Jungkook
*head snapped up, eyes wide as he stared at the hand that slammed down on his table*
A group of men stood around him—three of them, broad and heavy-set, their arms lined with tattoos that crept up their necks. One of them leaned closer, the corner of his mouth curling into a sneer
??
Didn’t know we had fresh meat in here *drawled, his voice slow and mocking*
??
A little young to be in a place like this, aren’t you?
Jeon Jungkook
*sat frozen, his pulse quickening*
He tried to mask his unease, but his hand trembled faintly against the table.
Jeon Jungkook
I— I’m just here for a few months *lowering his gaze to his tray*
The man chuckled darkly, exchanging glances with his friends.
??
A rich spoiled brat I see *laughs*
??
Three months, huh? You think you’ll last that long, kid?
??
What were you on?? *raise a brow*
Jeon Jungkook
I..*clench his fist*
Was the truth but did he wish to tell..
He could feel them closing in, the space around him shrinking.
??
Oi, we’re talking to you.
One of the other men nudged his shoulder with enough force to make Jungkook’s tray shift.
??
It’s rude not to answer.
Jungkook clenched his fists under the table, forcing himself to stay calm. He couldn’t risk making things worse.
But before another word could be said—
The voice was smooth, cold, and sharp enough to cut through the noise of the cafeteria.
Every head at the table snapped toward the source.
Jeon Jungkook
*heart dropped*
Kim Taehyung
*stood a few feet away, hands tucked in the pockets of his jacket, cigarette loosely balanced between his lips*
His gaze flickered over the group, but his expression remained unreadable.
The men around Jungkook stiffened.
one of them muttered, his earlier bravado slipping.
Kim Taehyung
*eyes narrowed as he exhaled a slow stream of smoke*
The man closest to Jungkook stepped back, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
??
We were just messing around, man. No harm done.
Taehyung’s gaze lingered for a second too long.
Kim Taehyung
I expect silence.
Taehyung said simply, his tone leaving no room for argument.
The men exchanged brief, nervous glances before retreating without another word.
Jeon Jungkook
*kept his eyes on his tray, the tension in his chest refusing to ease*
The way Taehyung had stepped in. The way everyone backed off like they feared him.
But more than anything, Jungkook hated the flicker of relief he felt.
Kim Taehyung
You don’t have to look so miserable.
Jeon Jungkook
*looks up to find Taehyung, he was talking to him*
Kim Taehyung
*leaned against the edge of the table, cigarette still dangling between his lips*
Jeon Jungkook
I’m fine, thank you *muttered*
Jeon Jungkook
*eyes lowered glued to his food*
Kim Taehyung
No, you’re not.
Everyone around were shocked, the cafeteria fell into a pin drop silence after his appearance, Taehyung’s voice was the only thing that was heard not even the shuffling of food trays.
Jeon Jungkook
*fingers tightened around his spoon*
Jeon Jungkook
Why do you care? *voice crack imagining what would have happened if it wasn’t for him*
Taehyung didn’t answer immediately.
Kim Taehyung
*let the silence linger, watching Jungkook carefully*
Kim Taehyung
I don’t *flicking ash onto the floor*
Kim Taehyung
But you’re in my room.
Jeon Jungkook
*bit the inside of his cheek questioning what was that supposed to mean*
He didn’t want to see Taehyung’s face.
Kim Taehyung
Eat your food *pushing off the table*
Kim Taehyung
They won’t bother you again. *walks away from the cafeteria*
It wasn’t just for Jungkook but it was a statement, everyone received the message.
Jungkook could hear people exhaling.
Jungkook stayed seated long after Taehyung walked away, his chest heavy and his appetite completely gone.
He wasn’t sure if Taehyung’s interference made things better or worse.
But the weight of those eyes—both the group’s and Taehyung’s—still lingered long after the cafeteria emptied.
