TAEKOOK ONESHOTS (Timeless. Ver)
Guilty as sin¿
Jungkook sat silently in the back seat of his father’s car, his hands clenched tightly in his lap.
The drive to the rehabilitation center felt endless, the weight of unspoken words hanging in the air like thick smoke.
His mother sat in the front, her eyes fixed on the road, while his father’s grip on the steering wheel tightened with each passing mile.
Mrs.jeon
We’re doing this for you
Mr. Jeon
This… phase needs to end. You’ll come back better. *cold*
Jungkook didn’t respond. His heart felt heavy, but not from shame. He wasn’t ashamed of who he was.
The weight came from the realization that his parents believed this was a punishment—a cure for something that was never a disease.
The facility stood at the edge of town, surrounded by tall, rusted gates that looked more like the entrance to a prison than a rehabilitation center.
The sign above the entrance read Riverside Recovery Clinic, though the chipped paint and dull atmosphere told a different story.
Jeon Jungkook
*stepped out of the car, the cold wind biting at his skin*
A staff member in a navy uniform met them at the gate, clipboard in hand.
The steel gates of the rehabilitation center loomed ahead, cold and uninviting.
Jeon Jungkook
*stood frozen, his suitcase clutched tightly in his trembling hands*
He wanted to turn back, to scream, to run, but the weight of his parents' judgment was heavier than the lump in his throat.
Mr. Jeon
This is for your own good
his father’s last words echoed in his mind. His mother hadn’t said anything, just wept silently in the car. They didn’t understand—no one did.
His parents didn’t follow him inside. They left without another word, the sound of the car fading as the gates locked shut behind him.
??
Staff member: Jeon Jungkook? *asked, skimming the papers*
Jeon Jungkook
*nods again*
??
You’ll be here for three months. If you stay clean, you’ll be released early.
Jeon Jungkook
I don’t… I don’t do drugs, *said quietly*
His voice felt small in the vast, empty corridor they stepped into.
The staff member glanced at him but didn’t comment.
??
Come on, I’ll show you to your room.
The hallway stretched endlessly, each door identical—gray, unmarked, and lifeless. The facility was silent except for the faint hum of flickering lights above.
Jungkook passed by other patients sitting in the common room, some staring blankly at the floor, others whispering in hushed voices.
As they walked, Jungkook noticed the way some patients looked at him. Not with curiosity, but pity.
They stopped at the farthest end of the corridor.
??
*unlocked the door but didn’t open it immediately*
??
*hesitated, his hand resting on the handle*
??
You’re sharing this room. Just… don’t ask too many questions *low voice*
Jeon Jungkook
What do you mean? *his anxiety spiking*
??
Your roommate isn’t the friendliest. People tend to stay away from him. Just keep to yourself and you’ll be fine.
Before Jungkook could press further, the door creaked open.
The room was dimly lit by a single window, cracked slightly to let in the faintest breeze. Two beds sat on opposite sides, one made neatly, the other unoccupied. There was no sign of his roommate.
Jeon Jungkook
*stepped inside, the door closed behind him with a soft thud*
Jeon Jungkook
*set his bag down beside the empty bed and sat on the edge, staring at the empty space across from him*
His hands trembled slightly, but he exhaled and forced them to still.
Jeon Jungkook
*notices the window open slightly*
But what caught his eyes were the cigarette buds on the side of the other bed.
Someone—his roommate—smokes in a rehabilitation center.
Jeon Jungkook
*takes in a deep breath*
He can smell the air mixed with a faint smell of smoke.
Jungkook’s mind was getting clouded with thoughts which broke with a creaking sound of a door he realised was present in the room—the restroom.
A man walked out fixing his zipper
Jeon Jungkook
*stood up abruptly in fear*
??
*notices someone’s presence and looks at his direction*
The man walked out nonchalantly with a roll joint between his lips.
He was older, maybe in his mid twenties, with sharp features and dark eyes that seemed to pierce straight through Jungkook.
His hair fell messily over his forehead, and his jawline was sharp enough to cut glass.
??
*pulling out the roll away from his lips between his slender long fingers*
??
*swipes his hair back away from his forehead while meeting Jungkook’s eyes with an intense gaze*
??
You’re the new kid *low raspy yet deep voice*
Jeon Jungkook
*breath hitch*
One question etched in his heart that second
Who was this man—and why was everyone so afraid of him?
