The morning sun crept through the thin curtains of Taehyung’s small room, casting faint rays on the cracked walls.
His room was tucked away in the farthest corner of Jungkook’s grand mansion, isolated from the other servants’ quarters.
A stark contrast to the luxury beyond his door, his space was minimal, just a small bed, a wooden chest for his few belongings, and a threadbare blanket. But Taehyung had never known comfort, not even before he arrived here.
His life before Jungkook’s mansion was defined by struggle.
Orphaned at a young age, he and his older brother Namjoon had learned early what it meant to survive in a world that didn’t care.
They bounced between foster homes and cruel relatives, their childhoods stolen by hunger and neglect.
Namjoon had always promised to protect him, but debts and desperation had a way of breaking promises.
Taehyung had been sold to repay Namjoon’s debt, a transaction sealed with tears and silent screams that echoed in his heart. That’s how he became Jungkook’s personal maid.
The shrill sound of the alarm jolted Taehyung from his restless sleep. His body ached from the bruises hidden beneath his clothes, remnants of Jungkook’s rough possessiveness. But there was no time to dwell on it. He had duties to fulfil.
He dressed quickly in his maid’s uniform, simple black trousers, a crisp white shirt, and an apron.
The collar always felt too tight, like a constant reminder of the invisible chain around his neck.
Stepping into the bustling hallways of the mansion, he was met with the usual flurry of servants preparing for the day. The estate was massive, with towering ceilings, gilded chandeliers, and walls adorned with art that cost more than Taehyung’s life ever would.
Mina
Morning, Taehyung. (Mina, one of the kitchen maids, greeted him with a warm smile)

Morning. (Taehyung replied softly, his voice still hoarse from last night’s tears)
Despite the coldness he faced from Jungkook, the other maids and workers treated him with gentle kindness. Mina often snuck extra food onto his plate during meals, and Hoseok, the head butler, showed him how to complete tasks efficiently without drawing Jungkook’s ire.
Even the children of the staff adored him, often running to him with small drawings or flowers they picked from the garden.
But no matter how warm those moments were, they couldn’t erase the darkness that followed him into Jungkook’s room each day.
Taehyung’s first task was always the same: prepare Jungkook’s breakfast. He carefully arranged the tray with black coffee, fresh fruit, and buttered toast, just as Jungkook liked.
The mansion might have had dozens of maids, but Taehyung was the only one allowed to serve Jungkook directly.
Balancing the tray, he made his way to the master bedroom. His heart pounded with every step, not from excitement but from anxiety. He knocked softly before entering.
Jungkook was sitting on the edge of his bed, shirtless, his muscular frame tense as he scrolled through his phone. His dark hair was slightly messy, and his sharp eyes snapped to Taehyung the moment he stepped inside.

You’re late. (Jungkook muttered, though Taehyung knew he wasn’t)
Kim Taehyung (Personal Maid)
Sorry, Master! (Taehyung whispered, placing the tray on the bedside table)
Jungkook didn’t say anything else, just pulled Taehyung closer by the wrist, inspecting him like an object he owned. There was no tenderness in his touch, only possessiveness. Taehyung’s pulse raced, but he remained still, knowing resistance only fueled Jungkook’s temper.
