NEXT DAY
The sunlight seeped through the thin curtains of Tanu's room as the alarm on her phone buzzed faintly. Groggily, she stretched and sat up in bed, her blanket slipping off her shoulders. It was 7 a.m., the start of another day.
Her hand instinctively reached for her phone. Unlocking it, she was greeted with a notification from the chatting app. Her eyes widened as she saw Yoon’s message:
“Good morning, Tanu.”
A small smile crept onto her face, her heart fluttering slightly. She hadn’t expected him to message her so early. It was unusual, and yet, it felt… nice.
Quickly, she typed a reply:
“Good morning, Yoon. You’re up early!”
The message was sent, and she placed the phone back on her pillow, rushing to get ready for the day.
On the other side of the world, Yoon had just finished his morning coffee, his phone buzzing with Tanu’s reply. He smiled as he read her message, her straightforwardness warming his heart.
“I’m always up early,” he replied. “It’s the best time to think and plan the day.
Tanu, now brushing her hair, saw the notification light up. She hurried to check it and responded while putting on her slippers:
My classes start early, and there’s a lot to do at home before I leave. What about you? What’s your plan for the day?”
Yoon, sitting at his desk, replied:
“Work as usual. But I’ll find time to talk to my favorite animal lover.”
Tanu blushed at his playful tone but quickly composed herself, typing back:
“Don’t forget to take breaks. Snow needs your attention too!”
Their brief morning exchange left both of them smiling, setting a lighthearted tone for the rest of their day.
Tanu tucked her phone into her bag and headed to the washroom to freshnup. Her heart felt lighter, and her mind occasionally wandered back to her conversation with Yoon.
For Yoon, the day started with a renewed energy, his thoughts occasionally drifting to the simple girl with the rabbit profile picture who was slowly becoming a part of his world.
In college
Yoon’s arrival at college was nothing short of a spectacle. His luxury black sports car pulled into the parking lot, the engine purring smoothly as it came to a stop.
The moment he stepped out, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit with his expensive watch glinting under the sunlight, students gasped.
“Oh my God, it’s Yoon!”
“He’s so handsome!”
“He looks like a CEO, not a student.”
“Isn’t he from a chaebol (rich family)? Look at that car!”
Phones were out in seconds—students snapping pictures, some whispering, others outright screaming. But Yoon? He didn’t even glance at them.
Holding his phone to his ear, he walked towards the main building, his expression unreadable, exuding power and confidence.
Yoon (on call): "Did you finalize the project timeline? I don’t want unnecessary delays."
His assistant’s voice responded quickly, updating him about business matters.
Yoon nodded slightly, his sharp eyes focused ahead, completely ignoring the crowd. He was used to the attention, but right now, his mind was on work.
Meanwhile, some girls in the crowd giggled.
“He’s so cool, not even fazed by all of us.”
“That’s what makes him hotter.”
