Kim Taehyung

The Kim family from the capital—an honorable family since generations ago. Besides, the second master of the Kim family was even more well-known. Even though he was blessed with charming looks, Kim Taehyung was unapproachable. Despite him being lazy, cocky, and hedonistic, numerous celebrities from the capital were still interested in him. Nevertheless, what was more well-known about him was his thrilling approach in the business field. Kim Taehyung did not have a wife or even a single rumored affair even though he was the authority figure in his family.

In his past life, Jungkook had met with him twice. The first time was indeed in Busan, but it was not at the Lee family’s residence. That time, he had just heard about Taehyung from others. he also felt curious about why he came all the way to Busan from the capital. It was only later that he knew he came to Busan to visit the doctor. As for the details, not many people knew about it. Jungkook also accidentally heard some rumors about him. Even if he were the chosen one, not everything he did would be perfect. Yet, never in he imagination did he think he would see Taehyung in the Lee family’s residene.

Even though the Lee family was respectable and influential in Busan, they were nothing compared to the Kim family from the capital. Jungkook remembered in his past life that Taehyung had no connections with the Lee family. Otherwise, based on their behavior, the Lee family would let everybody know that they had a relationship with Kim Taehyung. Therefore, they could not tell why Kim Taehyung would lower his dignity and come here with Jung Ho-seok ?

Nevertheless…

He did not get out of the car although he was here. Indeed, he really did not respect them at all. His arrogance would be a pain for normal people to deal with. Yet, for some reason, the man was KimTaehyung. Son Ye-jin was shocked as well upon hearing about Kim Taehyung identity from Aunt Zhao.

Son Ye-jin

“He’s our honorable guest. Why aren’t we welcoming him into our house?” ( frowned a little and questioned) “That’s rude

Aunt Zhao's

(Quickly explained) “Madam, this is Master Jung order. He said that Second Master Kim hasn’t been getting enough rest recently. He fell asleep in the car, so he asked us not to disturb him.”

Although Jung Ho-seok was the one who said those words, obviously, it was Kim Taehyung idea. Son Ye-jin found it weird when she heard about it, yet she did not ask anymore. With his status, he could sleep anywhere he wanted, right? It would be unwise if they offended him by waking him up from his nap.

Son Ye-jin

“We’re going in, then.” (uttered in a soft tone as she turned her head and urged Jungkook.)

Jungkook

Withdrew his gaze and got out of the car with his backpack

They walked toward the door.

Kim Taehyung

(Squinted his eyes for a little before laughing all of a sudden.)

Yesterday, Jhope had provided him with all the information regarding the young boy. He even warned him not to bully him because he was suffering from a lot of hardships. Nonetheless, Taehyung realized that the young boy was not somebody who would get bullied by anyone. His temper was not hidden well enough.

Lee So-Hee

“Mommy, you’re back!”

As soon as they entered the house, a joyful and clear voice came from the foyer. The voice was so jarring that Jungkook eyelids twitched a little. .

Jungkook

(Calmly, raised his head to look forward)

A lady in a white dress was striding toward them. The well-tailored dress perfectly outlined her curves, and her silky-smooth waist-length black hair was let down. She was stunning with eyes that were bright and clear. The lady was exuding a warm and noble temperament, mixed with a little intimacy and liveliness that could be felt when she was with someone close. Son Ye-jin complexion became gentle upon seeing her. She then stretched her hands out to hug her and lightly patted her shoulder.

Son Ye-jin

“So-hee, didn’t you say that you’re going to an art gallery with Jong-seo today? Why are you still at home, then?

Lee So-Hee

(Nuzzled in Ye-jin arms and said coquettish) “I was worried about you!”

Lee So-Hee

(Pushed herself away from Ye-jin arms, and with concern between her eyes, she spoke, ) “I heard about the news regarding the accident on the highway yesterday. Even though I knew Mommy was staying at Gyeonggi-do for a night, I was still worried about you. Therefore, I’ve been waiting for you at home.”

Son Ye-jin

(Touched So-hee face, and she was heartbroken when she saw there were dark circles under so-hee eyes.)

Son Ye-jin

“You didn’t sleep for the whole night? Actually, you didn’t need to worry about me…"

Lee So-Hee

(Smiled at her.) “I wanted to wait for you, though.”

Son Ye-jin

(Replied to her) “I won’t let you worry about Mommy next time. You don’t need to wait for me next time, and I’ll be heartbroken if you spoil your body. Do you understand?”

Jungkook

(Stood aside as he glanced at them coldly with his irony-filled eyes. What a mother and daughter duo. Anybody who saw that scene would have thought they were biological mother and daughter.)

Son Ye-jin Was already heartbroken when So-hee had merely waited for her for a night. Jungkook had waited 11 years, but he had never gotten an apology from Ye-jin. So-hee moved her gaze, seemingly just spotting Jungkook.

However, So-hee smiley expression froze for a moment when she saw Jungkook face clearly. The young boy in front of her was wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of black jeans. There was a black backpack on one of his shoulders. It was just a simple outfit, yet it looked so good when he wore it. His black hair that was just past his shoulders made his neck look more slender and fairer. The most noticeable thing was his face—clean and stunning. Jungkook pair of eyes were shining, and they were giving off a lazy and unrestrained vibe. Everybody’s attention would be caught by Jungkook even if he were to just stand there.

Lee So-Hee

<Smiled.> “Mommy, is this Big Brother Jungkook?”

Son Ye-jin

(Felt a little awkward.)

In all these years, she had never mentioned Jungkook to the Lee family.

Son Ye-jin

“Yes. From now on, Jungkook will stay here. Where’s your father?”

Lee So-Hee

(Pointed upstairs and said) “Daddy’s on the second floor. Brother Jhope is there too.”

Actually, the Lee family and Jhope family were both Busan wealthy and honorable families. However, they did not share a very close relationship. The Lee family was involved in the hotel industry in Busan. They were considered second-rate back then, but they got promoted because of an opportunity a few years ago. They were still incomparable to the Jung family who was from a rich heritage. However, Lee So-hee and the Jung family’s Miss Jung Jong-seo were besties, so she would just call him Brother Jhope too.

Son Ye-jin

(Said something to Aunt Zhao after she nodded) “Show Jungkook his room.”

Jhope was here, and Second Master Kim was out there. Thus, it seemed like Lee Hyun Bin had no time to care about Jungkook matters.

Before Aunt Zhao could answer her

Lee So-Hee

<Interrupted> “Mommy, his room is just next to mine. Let me show him”

Son Ye-jin

(Felt relieved upon seeing So-hee mature behavior)

Son Ye-jin

“Alright then. Go get some rest after that.”

Hence, Lee So-hee brought Jungkook upstairs. However, there came a gust of wind all of a sudden when Jungkook was about to take his first step. Jungkook squinted his eyes, and he ducked by moving his feet agilely. Suddenly, a ding sounded out, and it seemed like something was knocked off, hitting the blue and white porcelain that was on the coffee table. Bang! The porcelain was broken into pieces in an instant!

10-year-old boy screamed out loud all of a sudden. He rushed out from behind the couch and scolded Jungkook while pointing at him

Lee Cheng

“Hey! You broke my daddy’s beloved porcelain! You’ll pay for it!”

Stunned, Jungkook turned his head and looked

It was unknown when Kim Taehyung had gotten out of the car and was now leaning against the door. He was smiling while looking at the little boy.

Kim Taehyung

“What a coincidence. Your daddy’s porcelain broke my watch as well. Are you going to pay for it too?”

Lee Cheng had been spoiled by them since he was a child, which caused him to adopt a really bad temper. Thus, he felt displeased when he heard those words.

Lee Cheng

“Who do you think you are? Who are you to butt in our family’s matters?”

Upon hearing this, So Ye-jin heart shook violently!

Son Ye-jin

(Quickly scolded Lee Cheng) “Lee Cheng! Don’t be rude!”

Even Lee Hyun Bin dared not neglect Second Master Kim. Lee Cheng would really offend him with those words! Lee Cheng was stunned because he had never seen his mother lecturing him this fiercely before. Son Ye-jin strode toward him and pulled Lee Cheng aside.

Son Ye-jin

“Hurry up. Apologize to Second Master Kim!”

Lee Cheng’s hand hurt when his mother held it, and he shoved Son Ye-jin hand away because he felt wronged upon hearing his mother talking to him in such a tone.

Lee Cheng

“I don’t want to say sorry to him! I didn’t say anything wrong!”

Even though Lee Cheng was only 10 years old, he was a bulky kid. He was just like a lump of meat when he stood there.

Son Ye-jin was relatively slender because she kept her body fit. Hence, she stumbled and almost fell to the ground when she stopped paying attention for just a second. She was wearing a pair of black high heels, and as a result, she twisted her ankle.

Son Ye-jin

“Hiss!” ( in so much pain that she took a deep breath.)

Lee So-Hee

“Mommy!” (went to help her mother when she saw this.)

Lee So-Hee

“Are you alright, Mommy? Aunt Zhao, quick, get me some ointment!”

Aunt Zhao went to get some ointment immediately after she replied to So-hee.

Lee Cheng

(With red eyes,he yelled, ) “You’ve got a new Son now, so you’re not treating So-hee and me as well as before! You want her but not us, right!?”

Son Ye-jin

<Shocked.>

Lee So-Hee

(Raised her volume at him.) “Little Cheng!”

Lee Cheng then turned his head and stared furiously at Jungkook.

Lee Cheng

“It’s all because of you! We’re supposed to be a happy family, but why did you come here to ruin our family? Why do you want to steal my mother? Get out! We don’t welcome you here!”

His furious expression was as though his beloved had been stolen by someone. It seemed like he would chase Jungkook out of the house if she was unwilling to leave.

Son Ye-jin

(Heart ached upon seeing Lee Cheng cry.) “How could I abandon you and Ye Ci? Do you think I’m willing to?”

Lee So-Hee

(Took a look at Jungkook, and she saw her pure and gentle face filled with anxiety and guilt.) “Big BrotherJungkook, he didn’t mean that. Please don’t take it personally!”

Of course, there was no other meaning in Lee Cheng’s words. A kid’s words were the most honest of all. Every word that came out of his mouth was exactly what he meant to express. If a kid could utter those words, then those were the words that the Lee family was trying to express too.

Taehyung Slowly lifted his lips. His eyes were as if they were covered by a layer of ice. He tilted his head for a bit as he gazed at Jungkook. The young boy was just standing there. The chandelier on top of him was gleaming with bits of light that outlined his thin and slender figure. The grand living room seemed incompatible with Jungkook, who was only wearing a simple white T-shirt and black jeans. The woman opposite Jungkook was his biological mother, but she was no different from a stranger.

Son Ye-jin could insist on leaving him when he was six years old and never contacted him again afterward. She could hug her step-daughter who had no blood relation with her in front of Jungkook. She could even say those things naturally in front of Jungkook. The three of them were more like a family.

Taehyung gaze rested on his face for a moment. However, he realized from the beginning that Jungkook was just standing there silently with one hand holding his backpack and another in his pocket. His expression was so calm that it even felt freezing. It was as though everything was none of his business. he was just an audience member who was watching the drama unfold

Later

Kim Taehyung

(Heard Jungkook uttering with an unfriendly tone)

Jungkook

“I won’t.”

Lee So-Hee

(Reacted, and only then did she realize what Jungkook meant. he was saying that he would not mind what Lee Cheng had said to him.)

That was supposed to be the answer that So-hee wanted, yet for some reason, she felt something was wrong the moment she heard Jungkook speaking those words so coldly. When compared to Jungkook, the three of them were more like the cruel ones. Especially in front of that man’s sight. So-hee lifted her eyes as she took a quick glance at the tall and neat figure standing at the door. Then, she withdrew her gaze rapidly. Her heart was pounding, and her face flushed involuntarily. She had heard his name from Jung Jong-seo before. So-hee previously thought that the rumors could not be trusted, but only now did she know what was genuine after seeing him with her own eyes.

Lee So-Hee

Pressed her lips together and said with courage, “Second Master Kim, please come in and have a seat. I’m really sorry for—”

Kim Taehyung

(Answered her idly) “There’s no need for me to come in. Initially, I didn’t plan on interrupting your family’s affairs. However, I’ve never met someone who’d throw a dart at somebody’s face, so I just felt curious.”

Lee So-hee and So Ye-jin hearts sank upon hearing his words. They turned around just to realize there were broken pieces of porcelain and a watch as well as… a dart! The tip of the dart was sharp, and it was shiny. If Kim Taehyung had not stepped in, that dart would have left a scar on Jungkook face for sure!

Son Ye-jin

(Face turned pale immediately.)

Lee Cheng

(hung his head low because he felt guilty.)

Actually, So Ye-jin was reluctant to scold her son anymore when she recalled what he said to her just now. Thus, she took a deep breath before turning to Jungkook

Son Ye-jin

“So-hee and Little Cheng didn’t know about your existence before this. Especially Little Cheng. He’s still unable to accept you for now, so he did such a thing in a fit of pique. He’s still a kid, and he doesn’t know what’s right and what’s wrong. You-"

Suddenly, someone laughed. His tone was hoarse yet melodic.

Kim Taehyung

“A 10-year-old kid doesn’t know that a dart can hurt someone. Your education is really interesting, and it blows my mind.”

Son Ye-jin

*Instantly, kept her mouth shut.)

Jungkook

(Finally, turned his head and looked at Taehyung. Was Kim Taehyung defending him? However, there was no reason for—)

Lee Hyun Bin

“What happened here?”

The noise on the first floor finally alerted Lee HyunBin, who was on the second floor.

Lee Hyun Binwalked out of his room and came straight to the stairs. He frowned as he looked down, the first thing he saw being his broken porcelain that was all over the place.

Lee Hyun Bin

(Expression changed in an instant.)

Lee Cheng

(Looked as if he had found his savior when he lifted his head and saw his father.)

Lee Cheng

“Daddy, they broke your blue and white porcelain!

From Lee Cheng’s perspective, Jungkook and Taehyung were a gang, so it was not wrong to say that they broke it. However, Lee Hyun Bin felt that something was not right. He took a glance at Jungkook, then looked at the door quickly. When he caught a glimpse of the man who was standing there, he felt horrible. Lee Cheng did not realize anything as he turned his head to snort at them.

Lee Cheng

“How much does your watch cost? My daddy’s porcelain costs RMB 11 million! You’d better think of how you’re going to compensate us!”

Lee Hyun Bin

(Yelled at his son all of a sudden) “Lee Cheng! Shut up!”

Lee Cheng

(completely blank when he got yelled at.)

Lee Hyun Bin

Did not have the time to care about his son. While he was walking down the stairs, he uttered, (“Please don’t bother about it, Second Master Kim. It’s just a decoration. Just let it be…”)

At the same time, Jhope came out of the room too. He leaned against the handrail. He already knew what happened when he scanned through the floor. Upon hearing Lee Hyun Bin words, Jhope laughed as if he was gloating at him.

Jhope

“Hey, Second Master Kim, isn’t that the watch that you bought from the auction last month? How much did it cost? RMB 130 million, am I right?”

After Jhope finished his sentence, the whole villa was dead silent.
