Scene 5:
Location: Another room in the Spring House
Merchant Nior sits on the edge of the bed, visibly enraged. Maam Fiona paces back and forth, her heels clicking against the floor.
Merchant Nior (furious): I told you to keep an eye on her! I knew she’d try to escape. (His voice trembles with anger.)
Maam Fiona (matching his frustration): Sir, we had our best guards watching her, yet she still found a way out. Where did you find such a rebellious girl? (Her tone sharp.)
Merchant Nior: She came from the East Turkan Empire. Rebellion runs in their blood.
Maam Fiona (scoffing): No matter where she’s from, girls in her situation usually accept their fate. But this one—she’s fighting against it, as if defying destiny itself.
Merchant Nior stands abruptly, closing the distance between him and Maam Fiona.
Merchant Nior (coldly): I don’t care what she thinks or she’s fighting. What I care about is that she will be the most valuable item at tonight’s auction. (He leans in, his voice turning threatening.) I want her here before the bidding starts.
Their eyes lock, tension heavy in the air. Maam Fiona’s face hardens, but she doesn’t flinch.
Maam Fiona (through clenched teeth): That girl won’t surrender easily.
Merchant Nior (mocking): Didn’t you surrender once? Make her do the same.
Maam Fiona’s eyes flash with fury at the mention of her past. The anger boils in her throat, but she swallows it down, her silence more dangerous than words.
Merchant Nior smirks, knowing he hit a nerve, and strides out of the room, leaving Maam Fiona alone in her seething anger.
Maam Fiona (shouting): GUARDS! FIND ASTRAEA—NO MATTER WHAT!
Scene 6
Location: Tetra Market of Hulayen (a bustling marketplace known for its vibrant fabrics and dresses)
Astraea ran through the crowded market, weaving between stalls filled with colorful cloth. Every few seconds, she glanced over her shoulder to see if the guards were still chasing her.
Astraea (panting while running): "I... can't... stop... they'll imprison me..."
With a surge of determination, she pushed herself to run faster, her feet barely touching the ground.
At the same time, on the opposite side of the market, Prince Kael and Karlus strolled through the bustling streets.
Prince Kael (frustrated): "That scoundrel Noah! Leaving me stranded in this chaotic mess, knowing how much I despise it."
Karlus (teasing): "That's your brother for you. Always full of surprises. But seriously, where are you even headed?"
Prince Kael (deadpan): "Straight to HELL!"
Karlus (laughing): "As if you've been living in heaven all this time. Haha!"
Kael stopped abruptly and shot a sharp glare at Karlus, ready to reprimand him for his careless joke. But just as he turned, a figure collided into his shoulder, knocking him off balance. He stumbled forward and fell into a pile of vibrant fabrics.
Prince Kael (gritting his teeth , standing out abruptly ): "What in the—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Kael caught sight of the person who had crashed into him. His anger evaporated in an instant.
Standing there for a brief moment, with her breath uneven and eyes wide, was a young woman with captivating bluish purple eyes, she runs away as soon she saw him standing on his feet. She was unlike anyone he had ever seen before—her beauty left him speechless.
For a moment, Kael stood frozen, his gaze locked on her. His heart, once guarded by stone walls built over years, shattered in the blink of an eye. Without a second thought, he started running after her, his lips curving into an involuntary smile.
He started running , while crossing Karlus .
Karlus (shouting from behind): "Hey! Hey! Wait for me!"
But Kael had already disappeared into the crowd, chasing after the mysterious girl who had unknowingly stolen his heart.
Scene 7
Location: Tetra Market of Theomov
Astraea's chest heaved with exhaustion as she sprinted through the bustling market. She could feel her legs growing weak and her breath becoming shallow, forcing her to slow down. Desperately, she stopped for a brief moment, gasping for air.
But then she heard it—a shout from behind.
Guard 1 (yelling): "There she is! Catch her!"
Panic surged through her veins. Astraea glanced over her shoulder and saw the guards closing in on her.
Without a second thought, she bolted again, ignoring the fire in her lungs. She darted into a narrow, crowded lane filled with piles of fabrics, hoping the chaos of the market would hide her.
As she ran, her eyes were focused on the distance between her and the guards. But in her haste, she didn't see the person directly in her path. She collided hard with someone's left shoulder, causing herself to stumble for a moment.
She hesitated for only a second, her breath catching in her throat. Despite the fleeting moment of connection, she had no time to spare. She had to keep running, so she quickly pushed forward.
Astraea (thinking as she runs): I didn’t even say sorry... How rude I’ve become since coming here. I’m sorry, stranger. I never meant to hurt you.
Unbeknownst to her, the stranger she had bumped into was now running after her—chasing her as fervently as the guards.
If that moment hadn't happened, their paths might never have crossed. But it was destiny’s intricate design that intertwined their fates, starting the story that would forever change both of their lives.
