Scene 3
Location: Hulayen's Most Crowded Market
Prince Noah and Prince Kael walked through the bustling streets of Theomov’s most glamorous market.
Both were dressed in fine, elegant kaftans—Noah in a shimmering golden one with intricate embroidery, topped with a cap that partially obscured his face,
And Kael in a deep blue kaftan with the same regal pattern, his cape slightly billowing as he walked. Their attire, though opulent, was subtle enough to keep their true identities hidden.
Accompanying them were Orion, Noah’s loyal subordinate, and Karlus, Kael’s childhood friend and closest confidant.
Orion wore a dark green robe that emphasized his warrior’s physique, with a simple yet sharp sword hanging at his waist. His ever-alert eyes scanned the surroundings, ensuring his prince’s safety.
Karlus, in a brown tunic with a short cape and sturdy leather boots, was a man of few words but an imposing figure—always ready to step in for his friend and master, Prince Kael.
As they walked through the bustling market, taking in the sights, Prince Noah's mood was carefree and light.
Prince Noah, second prince of Theomov (smiling): Ahh, walk slower, brother. Let’s enjoy the beauty of the streets.
Prince Kael, eldest prince of Theomov (feeling irritated): I don’t see any beauty here. Just a crowded place full of women and children.
Prince Noah (with a side-eye): You’re such a boring person, brother. After being on the battlefield for ten years, you've return victorious, and now that I’ve brought you here to show you how prosperous our empire has become, you act like this.
Prince Kael (annoyed): Shut up. Where are you taking me? I shouldn’t have come. Tell me where we're going. (glaring at Noah)
Karlus chuckled at the brothers’ familiar exchange, nudging Orion slightly.
Karlus (whispering to Orion): They haven’t changed. Kael always had that scowl, and Noah ! Always the troublemaker.
Orion (grinning): This’ll be interesting. Watch closely.
Noah leaned closer to Kael, his smile mischievous as always.
Prince Noah (playfully): Give me your ear.
Prince Kael (side-eyeing him): Just say it without getting closer!
Prince Noah (smirking): Then I won’t tell you. But remember, it’s not that I didn’t want to say—it’s that you refused to listen.
Prince Kael (frustrated): Fine! (leans his ear closer, begrudgingly)
Noah leaned in closer, placing one hand on Kael’s left shoulder from behind and the other on his right, whispering dramatically:
Prince Noah (whispering): It’s… a brothel.
Before Kael could react, Noah bolted away, laughing wildly. His bodyguard, Orion, immediately sprinted after him, knowing exactly how the second prince operated.
Prince Kael (furious): You fucking shit! Stop running!
Prince Noah (grinning and running further ahead): Have fun, brother! No need to thank me when you find immense pleasure. Byeee!
Kael stood fuming, watching his brother disappear into the crowd. Karlus, ever loyal, remained by Kael’s side.
Karlus (smirking): Typical Noah. Always leaves us with the mess.
Orion (chasing after Noah, but shouting back): Try not to kill him when you catch up!
Kael, still irritated, glanced up at the large banner behind him, momentarily distracted by the ridiculousness of the situation.
Prince Kael (smirking to himself): "Taste the freshness?" Is this a brothel or a juice shop?
The banner read, “The biggest sale of the year. Come and taste the great freshness.” He shook his head in disbelief. His irritation momentarily subsided, replaced by mild amusement.
Kael turned away from the brothel and began walking aimlessly, not entirely sure where he was heading.
Unbeknownst to him, destiny was already at work, setting in motion the events that would lead him toward the greatest turning point in his life. His journey had already begun.
Scene 4
Location: Spring House
Maam Fiona: What's your name, little girl?
The girl (calmly): I don't have one.
Maam Fiona (smirking): Fierce and nameless. How about "Astraea"? After all, it means strength and defiance, and it suits your fiery eyes. From now on, that is your name.
The girl (thinking): People around the world have called me with many names. One more won’t matter.
The girl: Doesn't fit me, but thanks.
Maam Fiona (chuckling): You'll grow to like it. (Walking toward the door) Stay here and don’t cause any trouble. I’ll come for you when the time comes.
The girl (smirking): Better come fast, or I might just fly away.
Maam Fiona (pausing at the door, raising an eyebrow): You don’t have wings, darling. (She smirks back before closing the door.)
The girl (grinning as the door closes): You don’t know me yet.
Determined, Astraea rises from the floor and begins inspecting the room. At first, she finds nothing. But on a second, more thorough sweep, her eyes fall upon a small window hidden behind wooden slats. With a swift kick, she breaks the barrier.
Astraea (looking at the now fully open window): I told you, I might fly away. (Without hesitation, she jumps out.)
Outside, the sharp sound of breaking wood alerts the guards. They came inside and saw Astraea is climbing the window to jump.
Guard 1: She’s escaping! The girl’s escaping!
Guard 2: Stop shouting, fool! After her!
The guards rush down to catch Astraea, but she’s already ahead, her fierce spirit pushing her to run faster. The chase is on, but Astraea is determined not to be caught.
