Chapter 3

The car stopped at a very tall building. So this is Mr. Ford’s company, huh? I entered the building and didn’t bother talking to the desk lady and walked directly to the elevator. He does mention that his office is on the very top floor.

Before I could ever enter the elevator, as expected, men in black surrounded me. I could see Liam holding his handgun from behind his back. “Don’t bother, Liam” I stopped him, I don’t want to cause any ruckus. It’s bad for my reputation.

“Who are you? Do you have an appointment with our boss?” the guy seems to be the leader among the men in black spoke. I moved closer to him and whisper to his ear. “Deborah Mi-ner-vah~” Judging by his eyes that widen as I have spoken my words, he must know our family.

“You must not pass through, miss,” one of them said as he pointed me his handgun. The leader stopped him and gestured us to continue walking towards the elevator. Liam nodded at them and we proceed to our destination.

Arriving at Ford’s office, a middle-aged man with a bunch of young women surrounding him can be seen in the four-cornered room.

“Yo, I’m here” I sat on one of the sofas not waiting for him to permission, Liam stood beside me.

Ford asked his women to return to their own rooms to give us privacy. “Hello, Miss Deborah. I will make this quick. I want you to kill Damien Kotch. That’s it” he said and showed us a suitcase filled with money, guess that it’s worth billions. This target must be tough.

“What’s the catch, Ford? And who is this Damien guy? Is he really worth billions?” I said while crossing my legs.

“He’s indeed worth billions, miss Minerva. Damien is a good friend of mine. But you know, in the business community... Friends are basically enemies. That’s right, I’m betraying him. This fool is a cheater after all. After helping each other, he’s still at the top compared to me. I want him down. No scratch that. I want him dead” he said while playing with his beard.

“Why do you need a Minerva to kill this guy? Can’t your men finish him off?”

“Oh Deborah, baby. You’re too naive. The business world cruel. I won’t risk letting my men kill him. It would ruin my reputation and his men will finish me off too. Plus, to be honest... I think my men can’t really handle him. I didn’t know that I made contact with a dangerous man. But I think you can do it, miss Deborah. That’s why I’m offering you 10 billion. After you kill him, I would earn twice, no thrice of money I offered you. That’s why I’ll sacrifice everything I can just to see him dead. I’m expecting you to do your job, miss Deborah” he explained. But who is this guy really? I never heard about him at all, till now.

“Like your family. They kept their selves hidden. They’re too careful and that is bad news for me. I just learned the true him months ago. Guess you’ll be shocked if you learn his true identity. I’ll just send you the information. It’s too risky for me to spill it out here. So return to your home and I’ll order my men to deliver you the information” he continued as he walked towards me and mess with my hair.

I slapped his filthy hands away and eyed him. “I’ll take it here. Why bother sending it to my place when I could just take it here already. You’re the naive one, Ford. Baka~” (baka- stupid)

I snatched the envelope containing a piece of paper he's holding. “No! It's too risky, Minerva. I’ll have my men---“ “Your men here and there. I don’t care, Ford” I saw his face turning red, I must irritate him hard.

I walked away and let Liam hold the paper with the case of money. “Deborah!” he yelled before I exited the room. That man really annoys me. I turned my head and gave him a glare. “I’m a pro assassin, Ford. Don’t take me like a fool” I shut the door close and went to the elevator.

“Damn. I hate that man. I’m not a kid anymore. Why treat me like one?” I continued cursing while Liam just stared at me sighing.

Once we reached the outside, I ordered Liam to drive me to my private mansion to get my things done.

When we reached my house, I immediately opened the envelope as I closed the door of my room. My eyes widened to what I see. There are only 2 contents written in there but I didn’t expect that it will give me mixed emotions.
