chap 5. little argument

I hear a knock on my door and before I could answer it swings open and Jayden walks in.

"Spill" is the only word he utters before bouncing down on my couch.

"What is there to spill?" I ask not really knowing what there is to spill.

"Did he force you did he threaten you did h-" I cut him off before he says anything else.

"No he did not force me no he did threaten me I just decided to sign the contract after reviewing the conditions that's all that happened"

"That's not interesting" he said as a pout appeared on his face.

"Was it supposed to be" I look at him disappointed and disapproving at him.

"No I was just joking" he looks at me realizing he crossed the line.

Jayden was always the one to lighten up the mood even if he was the one in a bad mood he was the light that brought everyone happiness in their darkest days, but we all knew not to just rely on Jayden since he also had things to deal with. Including his alcoholic mother and Dad that is in prison for the use of drugs.

Ignoring him I just look back at my computer then at the clock to realize it's almost time for my grandma's call.

Right on time like she has superpowers my grandma calls me and starts asking the daily question.

But now I could tell my grandma that I have a husband but I didn't I decided it would be a fun little date trick on her.

Then she brings up Michaël which my grandma doesn't know I already knew who it is. This time I agree to the date and tell her I will be flying home in two days which by my grandma's voice I can hear that she's happy to be able to see me after so long and that she gets to put me up with a date.

Saying our goodbye I place my phone down that today I should have lunch.

Grabbing Jayden who was scrolling on his phone to who knows what off the couch we head to the elevator putting in the code we enter.

My office is on the top floor of my company which is a five-floor building it has only one entrance in and out of my office which is the elevator only me, Jayden, my assistant Lia know the code to elevator and someone who hasn't visited the office in half a decade, but we won't discuss that yet.

Feeling the elevator come to a stop the doors open and we step out. I greeted everyone on the way out since I came around the time nobody was at work and didn't get the chance.

I walk over to the car after insisting to Jayden that I will be the one riding.

We headed to a restaurant to order some food before heading back to the car and driving to the lake house that I bought last year it's about ten minutes away from the office, so it's easy for me to travel between these two places.

Stepping out of the car we walk over to the lake where a few benches are and a table.

placing the food down we start to munch on our food in silence before Jayden breaks the silence.

"C"

"Hmm" I look at him.

"Are you sure about the marriage because it's been like I don't know how many years since you two last saw each other"

"I'm not sure, but I feel that I need to do this"

"But he left out of nowhere he disappeared one day, and now he just appears out of nowhere again isn't it off"

"It is and I'll never forgive him for leaving years ago but right now I want to see the reason"

"He already gave you a reason years ago what reason do you still need"

"The real reason" I look at Jayden and turn away deciding it's best to hide what I know.

"If you're done let's call the others to have a fun party later we haven't met up in a while"

I scream back at Jayden still walking to the house.
