Episode 4: Marko's past

The dinning area at the villa looks so lovely that night, maybe beacuse of Paula, Marko, and Aunty Aura. They enjoyed the company of each other, appreciate every meal that was served.

"Thank you for this, this is the first time that I feel like I was belong in such family" it was Paula in a monotone voice.

The two stop suddenly and smiles back to Paula.

"Its just nothing, we usually appreciate every visitor we have" Auty Aura responded.

"I always eat with my father, but we seldom talk while eating. He never bother asking me of what happen in school and he never even shares how was work everyday. Sometimes we just talk about some important matters in school after otter than that there's none. He is too occupied with his time that even when we are eating he is reading some document. Sometimes I wonder if he really loves me though he gives every thing I need but that doesn't explains it. You know what? I'm jealous with the both of you, even though you're not complete yet you're much happier that those who are."

"Life is a choice. If you choose to be happy then do something but if not then stick to whatever is making you the way you are. Back then when you helped me I realized that we are the one who is responsible for our life. Its for us if we want to help or if we want others to struggle."

The conversation ended with the inspirational talk of Aunty Aura. They are almost done when Paula just utter a curios question.

"Marko?.. are you happy even without your Dad?" asked Paula.

Marko was shocked and never see that coming. He just nod his head as an answer. Paula just fake a smile to show that she's satisfied with the answer but deep inside she feels the guilt by asking such question. Now that they're done she suddenly stand-up and help the maid fix the table even of its not the usual thing she does at home.

It was late night probably 12 in the midnight, everything is so silent-you can only hear the sound of insects at night. Still.. Paula can't sleep, it is because she still think of what happen at the dinning area. Her mind is too occupied with the thought on how is she going to face Marko or how did Marko feel about what she said. Paula woke-up and decided to seat on a couch inside her room. On her way to couch she feel thirsty so she decided to go outside the room and headed the kitchen, she grabbed the water bottle in the fridge and pour some in the glass before drinking.

After everything is settled she goes upstairs, walked directly through her room, but something is strange on the left corner of the house so she immediately looks into it to see if she's right. There was someone in the deemed corner of the house, it was clear in her mind that it was someone. Without hesitation she went throught it to confirm. All her doubt has been removed when she saw clearly who he is. It was Marko standing right in the corner. Looking at the starts outside. He must be in a deep imagination. Paula don't know what to do, she is hesitant of she's gonna appoach Marko or just pretend nothing happen. Because she doesn't want to disturb Marko, Paula walked away silently. It was her first step backward when she heard a someone "I used to live as a happy family, but my mother and father are old enough when they met, but despite of that they still manage to have a son and that's me. We were so happy, everything seems perfect. I can have everything I need and I can go anywhere I wished to be until one day they left me. They can't handle the body they have and the pain they are dealing with because of being too old. I was raised by Mommy Aura, their personal assistant. After the tragedy in the company Mommy still manage to sustain everything I need." it was Marko in a sad voice.

"What happen to your company?" with a curious voice.

"The shareholders of the company protests and took the company from me. They said that I am still young and incapable of the business. They get even my shares and took every rights I posses. But thanks to Mommy that never give up on me during those days. That's why I owe her my life." Marko explained.

"I'm sorry to hear those. Now you deserve the happiness you're experiencing. By the way, I'm sorry for asking you such thing a while ago."

"No worries, I guess no matter how much I kept the secrets, it will be exposed." but at the back of the mind of Marko he keeps the truth about the company. He can't tell Paula that her father took the company for it was Paula who helped his Mommy Aura to become successful.

Now that they live in the same place it could be too hard for the both of them if Marko tells everything to Paula. All he can assure for now is that Paula is not yet ready to know the truth.

"Come on lets sleep" asked Paula.

"In your room?" answered Marko in a teasing voice and a flirting smile.

"Of course not. In your room!" with matching hit on Marko's shoulder.

Paula is now at peace and in a deep sleep.
