Episode 2
What he still saw was his wife's face. Looking down, she was wearing disposable slippers from the hostel. The color of the toes is normal, too.
So who was the woman he just saw with black nails?
Heidi
Don't think you'll pass if you don't say anything.
Heidi
I won't give you a penny this time! You can do it yourself.
His heart beat wildly and hit his chest. This hostel was really weird.
Was this woman human or ghost? Did the hostel set this up? Or was he too tired and hallucinating?
Then the phone he held in his hand rang again.
Heidi
Honey, I want to go out and wait for the sunrise tonight. Are you coming?
Before he could react, she turned away and read out the message word by word.
Heidi
Danny, what's going on?
Danny
Why can't you respect my privacy?
Heidi
Privacy? If I don't look, I will still be fooled by you.
Heidi
Which woman is it this time?
Danny
What woman? She's just a colleague.
Danny
You don't want to paranoid, right?
Heidi
Colleague? Why do you always have so many friends, colleagues or sisters.
Danny
I'm not talking to you. I'm going to sleep.
Heidi
Leave your phone for me to check!
Danny
Check all you want. I'm not afraid.
Heidi
good. If you say so.
Angrily, he threw his cell phone into her arms and turned to the balcony.
The balcony was just behind the floor window. It was a very small platform.
He looked up at the pouring rain.
Heidi
I am gonna take a shower.
He saw his wife leave his cell phone on the bed and went to the bathroom.
He hurried into the room, took out a coat from his suitcase. There was another phone that he had secretly bought.
Jessie
Why are you calling me with this number?
Danny
I borrowed it from someone else. Mine dead.
Jessie
Oh. I want to ask you to see the sunrise.
Danny
I'm not home right now.
Jessie
Ah. What are you doing there?
Danny
I want to ask you out, but you won't see me.
Jessie
Don't I ask you out now? You're not free.
Danny
I'll be back next Monday. Why don't we go to the sunrise then?
Jessie
It's gonna take so long.
Danny
Wait here until I get back. Kisses.
After talking to his first love, he quietly hid his phone and then pretended to be sleeping.
Heidi
You're acting weird. What kind of secret are you keep from me?
Heidi came out of the bathroom and asked her husband with surpressed anger .
Danny
What secret can I have? There's nothing I can do if you don't believe me.
Heidi
Danny, stop sneaking around with other women. Don't think you can fool me.
Heidi
Don't think I didn't know you were still in touch with your first love.
Danny
Who are you talking about. I'm not in touch with her.
Heidi
You're married. If you keep thinking about your ex.
Heidi
Then why did you come to me.
Danny
Heidi, you are really crossing the line here.
Danny
Are looking for trouble?
Danny
If I'm really like you said, aren't you married to a scum ?.
Heidi
Danny, don say I didn't warn you.
Heidi
If you annoy me, I won't give you a penny.
He really can't stand it.
His ears buzzed with the voice of his wife.
Danny has lost his expectations and hopes for the marriage.
When he fell asleep he had a confusing dream.
Heidi
Danny, you're so shameless.
Heidi
Danny, you didn't come home last night. Are you going to tell me you went on a business trip?
Heidi
Well, you're trying to lie to me again.
Heidi
Today, I called your company and they said you quit half a month ago.
Heidi
Who are you lying to.
Danny
Why are you pushing me so hard? Am I a criminal or what?
Danny
Do I have to take your instructions?
Heidi
Yes. That's why you've been asking me for money everyday.
Heidi
What on earth do you want to do?
Heidi
You're not going to support your family, are you? Ready to be a loser now.
Danny
What are you talking about?
Heidi
What did I say? Don't you always find a rich girlfriend, pampering them day and night?
Heidi
Do you live on women?
Danny
That's who I was when you knew me. Don't forget that you came to me for my look.
Heidi
Yeah, I must have been blind.
Heidi
What did I see in you. Do you think you look better than movie stars?
Danny
I am telling, Heidi, I have had several girlfriends but no one talk as much as you. And you are a teacher .
Danny
Don't treat me like one of your students!
Heidi
What happened to me? I'm much better than you.
Heidi
I know why you married me. Because I'm the best person you can get.
Heidi
Do you know why you picked me? Because you're getting old. You can't find a young, rich and pretty woman. So you settled with me.
Heidi
I won't stop! Danny, I'm not divorcing you. You're gonna stuck with me.
Danny
I told you to stop. Didn't you hear me?
Out of anger, he took the pillow and pushed it on her face.
Her head was pressed down by a huge pillow.
Danny clenched his teeth and kept pressing.
She finally stopped moving.
He gave out a sigh of relief, moved the pillow, and saw Heidi staring at him with her big eyes open. She was dead.
Heidi
What's wrong with you?
He opened his eyes and saw his wife's face.
Her back was soaked with sweat.
Heidi
You took all my duvet. How do I sleep now?
He gave her half of the duvet. Heidi lay down turned her back to him.
He stared at his wife's back and felt the cold sweat seeping out of his back at the thought of the nightmare.
Suddenly he heard a voice coming. It's like tearing paper.
Heidi
What are you doing? I can't sleep.
She suddenly turned around and faced him.
The dark eyes looked at him. While swearing words were coming out of her mouth, the eyes revealed some faint sign of affection.
He was too scared so he hugged her.
He kissed his wife to calm her down.
Heidi
Honey, I'm hungry. Order the breakfast for me.
Danny
I am calling the front desk. Wait.
Danny
Honey, this hotel does not serve breakfast.
Heidi
What kind of hostel is this? Fortunately, it's only two nights.
Danny
Did you sleep well yesterday?
Heidi
Honey, let's go out for breakfast.
Danny
I'm going to brush my teeth and wash my face first.
He went into the bathroom, looked at himself in the mirror, but found a woman smiling at him.
She looked sweet, but the smile gave him goose bumps.
He looked down and saw the black nails on the woman's feet. Taking a closer look, he was even more freaked out. The black on the fingernail was dried blood.
Tuk Tuk. Footsteps approaching from far.
Heidi
What happened? Why are you so scared?
He opened his eyes and found his wife standing at the door.
Heidi
Don't said it was okay. Look, your lips are white.
Heidi
A little thing, that's what scares you like this. You're still not a man?
Danny
What's wrong with you. Your husband is scared. Instead of comforting me, you are trying to teach me a lesson.
Heidi
Have you seen a ghost?
He looked at himself in the mirror, and the woman who smiled at him was gone.
He thought of the sound of a woman's footsteps, her porcelain feet and black bruised nails. He shivered again.
Heidi
Look at you. You spilled water all over this place. Clean it up. I have to wash my face.
Danny
Can't you just say that normally?
Danny
You have to yell at me.
Heidi
That's all you deserve!
Heidi thought of all his affairs, especially the haunting first love he had fallen for years. It only made her anger worse.
Speechless, he had to wipe the sink with a bath towel and clean it up bit by bit.
Thinking about the woman in the mirror, is it his hallucination or not?
