Episode 1
Late at night, a young couple came in the rain.
Heidi
Why do you have to stay in a hostel? Can't we stay in a proper hotel?
Danny
This place is very special.
Heidi
You don't even talk to me before. You always make decisions on your own !
Danny
Let's go inside and have a look. You never know until you see it.
Heidi
If I am not comfortable here, I am going to change to a hotel!
They walked into the BLUE Inn.
Heidi
The hotel is so small. There is no one here.
Heidi
Look at this style. I don't like it! You're gonna stay here all by yourself.
In front of them was a small front desk and a narrow corridor.
The tone of the whole hostel is mostly black.
Danny
If you wanna leave, go by yourself.
Heidi
Okay, then I'll go! I can't believe you made me pay for everything and now you are shouting at me.
She turned and walked out of the hostel. A lighting cut through the dark night and a loud thunder rumbled by her ears.
She hesitated for a moment and went back.
Danny
The weather forecast says there will be thundershowers tonight. If you're not afraid to die, go.
Heidi
What do you mean by that. Are you cursing me to die?
Heidi
If you ever say that again, I'll tell our parents about Anne.
Danny
I didn't say that. You are the one who's been talking forever. Can you shut your mouth.
Heidi
So now I can't say what I want?
Danny
I won't have this kind of fight with woman.
Heidi gave him a hard look, but he ignore it.
Heidi
There's no one here.
Iris
Hello. I'm the staff here. Is there anything I can help?
A young girl popped up from the front desk and startled them.
Heidi
It scared the hell out of me. Where did you come from?
Iris
I fell asleep. That's why I didn't see you two come in. Sorry.
Danny
I booked a room for five nights last week. Could you check it for me?
Iris
Just a minute please.
Heidi
Why did you book five nights? I'm not going to stay here for that long.
Danny
Can you wait and decide after you try it?
All of a sudden, Heidi made a loud noise again.
Heidi
Look, here's a picture.
Following her, Danny saw a white photo frame with a picture in it.
It was a woman in a vintage dress and a big straw hat in her hand. She had a sweet smile.
Danny
Is this the owner of this place?
Heidi
How does this photo look like it was taken a hundred years ago?
Iris
This is a photo of our owner's wife. Our boss told me to put it here.
Heidi
So they are quite a sweet couple?
Iris
That's what everyone says.
She nudged her husband with her elbow.
Heidi
Look at them. And look at how you've been treating me.
Danny
Be half as nice as her, and I'll be like him too.
Heidi
Danny, what's that supposed to mean. Did you forget how little you make every month and that I have to pay most of the bills in this family?
Danny
Can you just stop talking.
Heidi
Can't you just let me get in my way? Remember what you said when we were dating?
He didn't want to quarrel with his wife in front of a stranger, so he turned his eyes to the hallway.
The hallway was dark, and even the wall was black.
In the middle of the night like this, it makes people nervous.
Iris
May I have your ID, please?
Danny raised his head. When he glanced across the photo frame,he was so shocked that he forgot to breath.
The woman in the photo was just holding the hat in her hand. But now, the straw hat was on her head.
Iris
Here are your ID cards and room keys. Don't lose these.
He took the key, held his wife's hand and walked through the hallway until he stopped in front of the elevator.
Heidi
This place seems weird.
Danny
My old classmate said that living here was very exciting, so I came to try it.
Heidi
What's wrong with you?
They walked out of the elevator and found their room.
The room was small but it had got everything. Unlike the lobby, the layout here was very homey.
Above the bed hung a watercolor painting of a woman in a vintage dress and sunglasses.
Heidi
Do you think the woman in this painting is the same with that photo?
He glanced at it and realized that his wife was right. But the woman in the painting didn't look as creepy as the woman in that picture.
Heidi
Looks like the owner of this place really loves his wife.
Danny
Maybe it's just a coincidence.
She got up and went to the bathroom. She stood in front of the washing mirror.
Today she looks especially beautiful. Her skin looked smooth and tender, and even her makeup was just perfect.
She looked at herself in the mirror and became fascinated.
Heidi
Honey, do you think I'm beautiful?
She ran out to ask her husband who was tidying up his clothes.
Danny
Of course you're beautiful. Like you have to ask.
He answered without even raising his head.
Heidi
Honey, you didn't even look at me. How do you know if I'm beautiful?
Danny
You will always be the most beautiful woman in my heart. I don't have to look. I know it.
As he spoke, he looked up and found his wife was smiling at him.
She let her long hair down, and her dark eyes were bright and divine. His heart skipped a few beats.
What Danny saw was not his wife, but another woman.
Heidi
Honey, what's wrong with you? Why are you looking at me like that?
Danny
Honey. You're really beautiful today.
She smiled a little shyly.
He blinked, and the image of that woman in the photo disappeared. Now the woman looked like his wife again.
He felt his heart beating wildly.
Danny
I'm going to the bathroom!
He ran into the bathroom and looked up to see himself in the mirror.
He was not alone. There was one more person in the mirror.
He blinked and the woman he saw in the mirror disappeared.
He washed his face to sober himself.
Danny
Honey, take a shower now. Let's go to bed early.
Heidi went to the bed and found her husband had left his phone on it.
She heard the sound of shower in the bathroom so she picked up his cell phone to check.
When he came out of the shower, he found his wife looked furious.
Danny
Honey, now you can go in.
Heidi
Danny, what did you do behind my back?
Hearing wife's angry words, he looked up at her cluelessly.
Danny
What did I do this time?
Heidi
What have you done? Do I have to tell you that?
Heidi
You are almost thirty? Can't you grow up already!
Heidi
You've learned nothing in all these years!
Heidi throw the phone to him and hit him on the forehead.
Danny
What is this all about?!
He touched his sore forehead and became angry.
Heidi
You maxed out your card again, didn't you?
Heidi
The text from the bank said you owed them more than 8,000 this month.
Heidi
You always do this. We really can't afford it.
Heidi
All these times! How much did I pay the bills for you!
Danny
Don't worry about it.
Danny
It's not your name on the bill.
Heidi
I'm afraid you'll go to jail.
Heidi
You don't about decency, but I do!
Heidi
When we got married, I didn't even ask for a wedding photo because I knew your family didn't have much!
Heidi
But you, you just keep acting like a rich person, which you are not!
Danny
I thought you already knew that when we were dating.
Heidi
I must have been a idiot to marry you.
Danny
If you regret it, it's not too lat. We don't have kids. So it's just the right time for divorce.
The look on her face suddenly became twisted, and then she smiled grimly.
Heidi
Isn't that what you want. Leave me and find another woman! I'm telling you, Impossible unless I die!
He bent over to pick up his cell phone but suddenly found that standing in front of him was a pair of delicate porcelain calves. It made his hair stood up because
The ten toes of his wife all had dark nails.

I don't read this genre often, but I must say, you are good at building up tension, playing with popular cliches. And the way atmosphere fits a chat -story format with phrases appearing click by click feels just right. I wouldn't say, that's a an ideal book, but you clearly are very promising and talented author, who knows, how to gain and keep reader's attention. I like it! Thank you!
