"See why I said she can't be my wife, you're not the one."
The marquis runs to hold his daughter when he sees that she is about to fall.

Valentina was already on her way back to Asdefor, she had been traveling for two days, she still had one left. Suddenly, the carriage she was riding in comes to an abrupt halt, causing her books to fall, even she and Lauren almost fall out of their seats. The maid leans out and asks what is happening, one of the escorts warns that there were bandits heading towards them. So Valentina asks them to stay behind, not to attack unless she orders them to, so as soon as those bandits, who were rather mercenaries, are close, they surround them.
"We will not kill anyone, if they hand over the princess to us," says one of the men.
Lauren is startled to hear this, it seems that they were indeed the target or rather, Valentina is.
"Your Highness...we must flee."
"No, I have a better idea."
From the window, Lauren leans out and calls the captain of the escorts, she whispers something in his ear and the captain looks surprised, but asks his men not to move or do anything foolish. The carriage door opens and Valentina falls to the ground, her hands tied behind her back and a gag. Lauren comes out and helps her to her feet.
"Here you have her...I thought you would never arrive," Lauren speaks.
The bandits look at each other, not knowing what was going on, no one told them that an ally was coming in the carriage.
"What are you waiting for? Take her away, I'm fed up with her spoiled little miss attitude, and you already know what to say."
"Yes, that the princess ran away with a man," replies the captain.
Seeing this, the leader of the mercenaries, loads Valentina over his shoulders and lifts her onto the back of the horse.
"Go away, another group of escorts will arrive soon," Lauren warns.
Hearing this, although somewhat confused, they hurry away from the place. While Lauren lets out a sigh and almost faints. But she asks them to follow the mercenaries very carefully, just in case they need to act in case the princess has difficulties.
