Invasions

Ships are blanketing the sky from space coming down on the city fast. "Titan we're going with extermination plan C 21 you'll take the west and I got the East."

   He grows to his larger form. "Right!"

    We both vanish jumping across the building smashing the ships out of the sky turning them to gold blasts of light. They're docking against buildings trying to suck people inside.

    I tap my ear. "Titan change of plans evacuate the city this is gonna take longer than I thought."

    He accepts and we bolt around the city clearing out entire office buildings in seconds. Looks like all that's left is the elementary school near the center of the city. The ships are avoiding that area.

    As I approach I hear titan yell. "Master the sky it's glowing!"

     I glance up a large beam of blue light is coming down from the mother ship. I'm almost through the front door but it's coming down right ontop of us. I stop holding my arms out trying to form a barrier but it barely covers 10 feet around me before the beam hits.

    The school and surrounding area is obliterated into rubble. Titan lands near the edge of the crater. "Master are you okay!?"

    I clench my fist with rage taking a deep breath. "Yeah... I'll leave the ships on the surface to you I'll handle the mother ship."

    Before he speaks my eye's glow gold and I vanish running up the tallest building in the city. The moment I reach the top I break the sound barrier shattering all the windows in the city. I rocket into space as a suit of jet black futuristic armor appears on my body.

    I fly through the larger ships blowing massive holes through them dodging the high powered lazers. I appear above the entire fleet massive chain wings sprout from my back swinging down ripping the fleet to pieces. Explosions riddle the battlefield.

    The ships large reactors explode sucking the remaining ships into the small vortex. They vanish after a few moments but the shockwave blows me back to earth. I drop faster and faster the suit is crumbling around me.

     Before I hit the ground I do a backflip using my thrusters to stop myself. I land gently in the rubble of the school. I drop to my knees grabbing a partially scorched teady bear from the rubble.

    I close my hand around it gently and it turns to dust, I clench my fist about to hit the ground. "Damnit!"

    I stop falling forward on both hands gripping the soft dirt below me as tears well up in my eye's. "Damnit..."

    Titan lands beside me. "Master..."

    I sit back reaching over patting his head. "I'm alright."

    One of my tears hit the ground between us and it glows bright gold. Larger flowers bloom inside the crater laying among the flowers are the people from the school. I stand up walking over to a small girl curled up on a flower she's breathing.

    Titan nudges me. "They're okay!"

     I nod slightly. "Yeah, let's go."

     He looks at me as I walk away. "What about them?"

      I glance back. "They'll wake up soon enough."

      We jump across some buildings landing on the building across from ours. I turn to him holding my hand out behind me slightly. "Well look at the bright side our house is still in one-"

     I hear a rumble behind me followed by a cloud of smoke. I sigh. "Piece.... I spoke to soon didn't I."

     He nods, I groan pulling out a replenishment injector stabbing it into my neck. "That's the stuff."

     I gasp slightly as my power is returned to normal. I hold my hands out a massive magic circle turns the city back to normal putting everyone back where they where like nothing happened. Titan and I appear across thr street from our apartment building.

    I cross the street and the doorman looks at me. "Any luck?"

    I shake my head, he pats my shoulder. "There's always tomorrow don't give up."

    I thank him heading up the stairs seeing Ms. Alice shes a old lady that lives next door to me. "Ms. Alice why are you taking the stairs with so many groceries!?"

    She glances back smiling. "I need my exercise how did the interview go?"

    I take her bags looking down slightly. "I didn't even have one they made a decision before I even got into the room."

   She looks a bit disappointed and walks ahead of me. "Well that's good for me I have some thing's I need fixed around the house anyways."

    I help her put her thing's away and fix the things she needs before heading to the door she stops me. "Ren take this."

   She puts 100 dollars in my hand I look at her. "I can't take this Ms. Alice you need it-"

    She closes my hand around it. "Don't be silly I have more money than I know what to do with just do your best next time okay?"

    I hug her. "Thank you."

    I head next door into my house it changes into a fancy modern apartment as I toss my jacket onto the counter. "Are you okay master?"

   I walk over to the window folding the 100 dollar bill into a small airplane. "Yeah just fine."

    I toss it watching it float down to a homeless man in the alley across the street before I turn stretching. "It's still hard to get use to losing children in these missions. I don't think I'll ever get use to it."

   He walks over nudging me. "That's not something you should get use to master, why do you even want a job in the first place don't we make enough with missions?"

    I walk over to a door opening it heading into my training room. "Of course we're loaded but that's not the point your the one who keeps telling me to find a girlfriend-"

   He turns into his puppy form landing on my desk as I sit in my computer chair opening the large displays. "So you've been thinking about it!?"

    I laugh slightly poking his nose. "No, but if I found a girl and she asked what I do am I supposed to say hero or something? That's not a real job. I don't do this for money or fame I just happen to have the power to save other's so I'll use it. I want a job so I have some kind of normal in my life."

    I rest my head on my fist as I scroll through the mission results. "I still think you should get a girlfriend master."

    I pick him up setting him on my chest as I lean back in the chair. "I've already wasted 3 year's with someone I thought I was gonna marry and have a kid with I don't plan on doing that again."

   He stands up looking at me. "You had a kid!?"

    I flick his forehead. "No, she told me I got her pregnant and turns out she was lying, sad part is after I got done freaking out I actually looked forward to it, so finding out it was all a lie kinda hurt."

   He lays his head down. "I never knew that about you master, not every girl will be like her you know?"

    I pet him looking up at the ceiling as we spin around. "Yeah I'm aware, after my parent's died I just stopped caring about human interaction it seemed pointless."

   He wags his tail. "You do well with Ms. Alice?!"

    I laugh slightly. "I know, I've always been good with older people since my parents adopted me at an older age. Unfortunately they didn't get to see me accomplish anything I know they had a lot of expectations but it seems like everytime I had a chance to make a bad decision I did. I think that's why I tried so hard when I first got this power. I thought it was cool because it was like a video game but it takes effort to max out each class and to create at least 40 more."

    He hops up and down on my stomach. "Exactly you're a hard worker master I'm sure your parents are proudly watching over you. I'll always be here for you."

    I smile tossing him into the air catching him. "Thanks, one day im sure I'll settle down and adopt or have a kid when that happens you'll be in charge of protecting them when im not around alright?"

   He lands on the table barking with excitement as his tail wags furiously. "I'll be ready master I promise!"

    I get up. "Good answer, now let's train we need to increase our movement speed 5 seconds is still to long."

    He grows to his medium form hopping into my chair. "I'll set the parameters for the testing ground."

     I laugh slightly. "Alright let's see what you got."

     My clothes change to something easier to move in. Crystal battle dummies appear around me with various weapons. The large brute jumps into the air swinging his fist at the same time the other fighters fire at me.

    I vanish appearing above the brute landing on his back as the attacks cut him apart from below. I shoot 3 of the targets catching an arrow from the 4th. "Almost-"

    I vanish as the arrow explodes grabbing him by the face crushing his head into dust. "You're thinking outside the box today Titan I like it."

    I keep fighting the waves of stronger and stronger enemies until I flop back exhausted. "Alright I'm done for now."

     He runs over showing me my stats. "You went up in ever stat again master reading while you workout is a smart idea but I'm not sure if taking full power hits from brutes is a smart move."

    I hold my hand over my stomach healing the bruises. "It increases defense and I can boost my healing at the same time afterwards."

    I get the alert screen. "Master."

    I hop up my clothes change after water rushes around me cleaning myself. "I know let's go."

    I head through a gate and everything goes black.

    I adjust my tie walking into the Royal ball with Titan beside me invisible. "Master I'll locate the rose room but I'll need you to make a distraction the security has high grade magic sensors any use of magic will set the imperial golems on us and it will be difficult to get close to the princess."

   I sigh. "Fine I'll figure something out just get going I don't wanna stay here long."

   He nods running off. I wait against the wall looking over some thing's on my display. I hear a voice beside me. "This ball is rather boring."

   I glance to my left the princess smiles she has light blue hair and bright gold eye's. "I guess it's just not my cup of tea, though it's not completely boring you're here after all."

   She smirks. "You're quite the smooth talker im sure your date is having a good time, speaking of where is your date?"

    I laugh slightly. "Unfortunately I didn't come with one, Victor from the guild hall asked me to come in his place at the last second."

   She extends her hand slightly. "Then allow me to offer you to accompany me to the ball this evening."

   I take her hand. "I'd be happy to princess."

   She steps closer to me. "Call me Ivy."

    I smile. "Ivy it is."
