FEW MONTH LATER
In the silent expanse of the night, Emily's room in the villa was shrouded in a hushed stillness. The ambient tranquility shattered abruptly as a sharp pang of pain gripped her abdomen, rending the silence with her agonized cries.
The discomfort, once a distant ache, had escalated into a crescendo of torment—a telltale sign that the moment she had both anticipated and feared was upon her.
The commotion reached the vigilant ears of the maid and the ever-watchful bodyguard stationed nearby. With a shared glance that conveyed urgency, they converged upon Emily's room, their rapid footsteps echoing in the hallways.
As they entered, Emily lay writhing in pain, beads of perspiration glistening on her forehead. The maid, with an instinct honed by the trials of motherhood, rushed to her side, a sense of urgency etched across her features.
The bodyguard, a stoic presence in the room, swiftly took charge, orchestrating the unfolding events with a commanding authority.
"Miss Emily, we need to get you to the hospital. It's time," the maid declared, her voice a blend of reassurance and urgency.
Emily, amidst the throes of pain, nodded with a grim determination. The trio moved swiftly, each step resonating with the gravity of the impending moment.
The journey to the hospital unfolded in a blur—Emily's cries punctuating the otherwise quiet night as they navigated the city's dimly lit streets.
Upon reaching the hospital, Emily was whisked away into the realm of medical expertise, the clinical atmosphere a stark departure from the opulence of the villa.
The medical team, seasoned practitioners in the orchestration of life's most profound moments, took charge with a meticulous precision.
In the labor room, the palpable tension was accompanied by the rhythmic beeping of monitors—a symphony of anticipation and anxiety. The medical team worked in tandem, their expertise guiding Emily through the arduous process.
The maid, standing by Emily's side, offered words of encouragement, her hands a comforting presence amid the storm of pain.
After hours that felt like an eternity, the moment arrived—a chorus of newborn cries, a testament to the miracle transpiring in the labor room. The medical team worked swiftly, revealing the fruits of Emily's labor.
Twin cries echoed through the room, one robust and full of life, the other hauntingly absent. A hush descended as the medical team exchanged glances—a silence pregnant with both joy and sorrow.
"Congratulations, Miss Emily. You have two beautiful baby boys," the doctor announced, his words carrying a bittersweet resonance.
In Emily's arms, a healthy newborn rested, his cries a symphony of life. Beside him, a still figure lay—a breathless twin whose entry into the world had been marked by a poignant absence of vitality.
Emily's eyes, teary yet resolute, fixated on the contrasting tableau before her. The maid, her own emotions a tumultuous sea, placed a gentle hand on Emily's shoulder, offering a silent solace in the face of the complex duality that unfolded.
"Miss Emily, you've given life to two beautiful souls. One may not be with us, but the other is a testament to the strength within you," the maid whispered, her voice a tender reassurance.
As Emily cradled the living twin in her arms, the room pulsed with the essence of life's intricate dance—the delicate balance between joy and sorrow, beginnings and endings.
Alex and Veronica visit the hospital after hearing about Emily having given birth. Veronica and Alex head to the baby's ward and find the doctor assigned to assist with the birth of Emily's child.
"Good night Mr. Stone's and Miss Veronica."
"hmm."
"Miss Emily gave birth to adorable twin baby boys. But unfortunately, one of the babies was lifeless." said the doctor with a sad tone.
Alex frowned. "Transfer the safe baby to Stone's private hospital."
"Do you want to see the other baby?" The doctor asked slowly while looking at him.
"No need. You can handle it yourself." Alex replied. His eyes looked sad.
Veronica hugs him and says it's okay. They both happily hugged the healthy baby.
After the paperwork was done, they transferred the baby to Stone's private hospital.
"Leave a blank check and money at Emily's ward. Tell her our deal is done and hope she can disappear and stay away from my son and Veronica." Alex directed his assistant before leaving with Veronica and the baby.
Emily hugged the weak baby and nursed him lovingly. She saw a blank check and a lot of money in the envelope and a note. She then saw the little baby in his arms again.
The baby was a baby who was presumed dead yesterday after he was born. In fact, he was born with a heart problem, so his breathing was very slow and difficult to detect as a result, doctors misdiagnosed him as dead.
Seeing a healthy baby taken away without wanting to see the other baby made the doctor feel sympathy for Emily, the mother of these twins.
So he faked the baby's death and gave the baby to Emily without the knowledge of Alex or the Stone's.
"Son, I have you now as a new family member." Emily says with smile and the baby looks at her as if he was understood what she said.
"Your name... Ares Miller. Miller is my family name. I'm Emily Miller. Your mom. Let's depend on each other..." She coaxed Ares who was teary.
A few days later, Emily was getting ready to go abroad. Her mother was transferred to an overseas hospital early after Emily paid all the necessary costs using the money she got from Alex.
Ares has also been stable and safely moved abroad on the advice and medical letter from the doctor.
Emily boarded the plane that night with her baby and promised herself that she would leave her past here and start a new life in a new place.
Unbeknownst to Emily, another baby who was currently being treated at the Stone's residence suddenly cried loudly causing the babysitter and the person in charge to worry.
The other child was named Aiden Milly Stones. Alex said, Aiden biological mother nickname was Milly, so they should give that name to Aiden, so he will know that he have biological mother. Veronica was sad thinking about Emily name on Aiden.
Now the obedient child suddenly cried....
Alex hugged and coaxed the baby but the baby was still crying as if sad about something. Veronica helped to persuade him and the baby finally stopped crying.
They were relieved and happy to see Veronica carrying the baby to sleep. Alex looked at the baby and Veronica lovingly.
This is his family. He thought.
