Mr Kang and Taejin outside the waiting room as Mrs Kang's operation had started, they were both scared anything can happen inside those doors but they prayed she was okay
Taejin went to the hospital's bathroom and washed his face, his mother was still resting so he went out to buy flowers for her
When he came back he found his father already there and he looked like he didn't get a wink of sleep

Are those for me?
She pointed at the bouquet of flowers that were in Taejin's hand

They are mom, last time I didn't get the chance to bring them on your birthday to see that pretty smile of yours so think of it as my apology

Also this is yours, I was meant to give it to you on your birthday
Taejin handed her the little box

Taejin-nah come here and give your mom a hug
She extended her arms and hugged her son close

Birthdays come each and every year sweetheart, so stop tormenting yourself about the past and thank you for the gift and the flowers are beautiful
She released him from the hug to open the box, she found beautiful pair of earrings and a matching necklace

This is really beautiful Taejin but it must have cost a fortune, I don't need gifts like this as long as I see my handsome son

She had a lovely smile and Taejin couldn't help but smile along with her

Just then the doctor's came and told them they would be taking her away
And that how it came to them being in the waiting room, they were both worried sick but they knew she was a fighter
After long hours of waiting the doors finally opened and the doctor's came out looking tired
The head surgeon came and spoke to them

Mrs Kang's surgery was a success, unfortunately you cannot be able to see her at the moment as her surgery is a critical operation, we still have to monitor her condition and do CTR scans to see if everything is okay

For now I suggest going home, I'm sure you're both tired after sitting there for hours

Taejin and his father bowed to the doctor, he also did the same then left

She is, we'll get to see her soon
The two released sighs of relief
They were allowed to see her a few days later and she really was okay

I love the flowers, did you change them? They look lovely and fresh

Taejin came and sat next to her

I'm okay Taejin-nah, no headache or any discomfort

I'm so glad to see my son and husband, you must have been so worried

Well the worst has passed so rest assured by the way someone promised to help put on my new accessories
She handed Taejin the box he gave her a few days ago
Taejin took the box and secured the necklace around her neck, his hands were shaking so it took quite some time to lock it

She could feel his whole body shaking, she gave him a smile then she wore her earings
Taejin took a photo of her and handed her his phone

Her voice beamed with joy

She winked at him and gave him a thumbs up
Taejin hugged her and finally he broke down and cried

I'm really glad you're okay mom
She rubbed his back soothingly
Mr Kang sat there and watched shocked to see Taejin breaking down in his mother's arms
He looked so strong that he thought he was handling it well but seeing him now made him realize how well the boy could hide his emotions and that broke his heart because he was the reason for that as he always told him emotions were one's weakness
He'd become a better version of himself and never hurt his son intentionally and that was a promise he swore to keep for as long as he lived
he got up and patted his head lovingly

It's okay my son let it all out, there's no reason to hold it inside
After some time Taejin was finally calm and he decided to announce that he was coming back home

I'm going to start a business here in Seoul, I have been considering it for quite some time and decided to share with the company and we came to an agreement that ig would be good for the business

I'll be the one managing the branch here
Both Mr and Mrs Kang looked happy at the news

That great to hear Taejin, I can finally prepare a homemade meal for you after so long

Good thinking mom because I missed your homemade meals

I hope your business goes well son but won't that be stressful for you managing two companies at once?

I won't be as involved in the company in Australia as I will in the one here and I have help so it will be manageable

Every employee at CNBLUE Entertainment are good at their jobs so everything will work out

You have a lot of trust in them, they must be good people
A week passed by and Mrs Kang was finally released from the hospital
Taejin was home most of the time spending time with her

You know Taejin-nah you don't have to come everyday not that I'm not happy about you being here or anything

I'm delighted to see my son's handsome face anytime but I know you have work to do, you did mention that you were starting a branch here and all and you probably have a lot to do

Don't worry about it mom, I get time to do my work and having my secretary with me is a great help

You should meet him someday, he's a great person, I met him in university and we became really close since then and coincidentally he ended up working at CNBLUE

You should invite him for dinner sometime, I'd be happy to meet one of the people close to you

It sad though that I'm not fluent in English, it will be tough to maintain a proper conversation with him so do apologize in advance for me

Don't worry mom, he's Korean so don't take up any English lessons
Mrs Kang laughed at her son's joke

He's been nagging me none stop so he'll be happy to hear that he finally got an invitation to come
The rest of the morning the two spend chatting and later on the day Taejin helped his mother cook dinner

Unfortunately I can't stay for dinner, I have somewhere to be this evening

It's alright sweetheart, drive safely and call me when you get home

Please apologize to father that I left before he came back from work
Mrs Kang nodded her head and hugged him then he left

I do hope you haven't sold the building to another not that I'd blame you I took too long to come didn't I?
The older man shook his head rapidly

I'm quite loyal to those who have helped me Mr Kang and if it wasn't for you I would have lost everything to those scammers
He remembered the day he almost went bankrupt and lost all his assets for investing in the wrong company
That how he met Taejin who had volunteered to help everyone who fell victim to the scammers by providing the best lawyers who handled their case and won in court
They all were able to get their hard earned money and assets back

I'm happy to hear that, as I mentioned when I called I would like a full view of the building so we can speed things up a bit

I'll be flying back to Australia in a month to come so it would be essential I do so after sorting everything out from this side

Of course Mr Kang, I know you're a busy man so you name a day when you're available and I will give you a tour

The older man said with a joyful voice and Taejin couldn't help but to smile a little, the man was always happy you would think he had no worries in life
And considering the fact that Taejin was always surrounded by uptight and serious people he found Mr Seo's personality refreshing
Taejin got up and bowed at the older man

It was nice to see you again after so long sir, I'll be heading off now
Mr Seo
Let's meet up sometime yeah? and indulge this old man by having a drink with him

Very well sir before I leave for Australia we'll grab a few drinks together
After that Taejin drove back to the hotel he was staying in, he called his mother and told her he had just gotten back
They talked for a bit then she passed the phone to his father who was dumbfounded at being placed on the spotlight but recovered fast

It feels really good to be home and getting along with dad is a bonus
