Episode 12

The entire day, both of them were busy unpacking and arranging their belongings in what was now their new home. Rose was quite lively about it all, which made Claramond happy to see her so.

By nightfall, they had finished organizing everything and were now exhausted.

"You can take a bath if you like... I need to do some work stuff. Do you want to go out for dinner or shall we eat here?" Claramond asked, seated at the corner of the bed. Rose glanced at him and then parted her lips to speak.

"Here..." she said before getting up and rushing to the bathroom.

He watched her leave and with a smile stood up to head to his office.

Rose entered the bathroom and prepared the tub for a relaxing soak. She was immersed in the water, enjoying the sight of her hair floating around her. The bathtub was large, easily fitting four people, which Rose utilized as a pool, moving from one end to another despite not knowing how to swim.

After several minutes, Rose finally emerged, wrapped in a towel, and went to the bedroom to find her clothes to get dressed before leaving the room.

Meanwhile, Claramond was in his office on a call while typing something on the computer.

"I understand perfectly. However, I made that order well in advance to avoid this situation. So, I expect you to resolve this accordingly. I want all that material at the New York hospital tomorrow, or else I will withdraw the payment and our purchases will be cancelled," Claramond said before hanging up the call and quickly typing on the computer again.

While typing, Rose entered the room, studied what he was doing, and walked up to his desk.

"You look good, smell good. Are you ready for dinner? What would you like me to prepare?" Claramond asked, still typing but now with a smile.

"I-I... Cook... I will co-cook," Rose stuttered. Claramond looked at her and stopped typing, showing a smile.

"I'm sure you cook like an angel. Need any help?" he asked, to which she shook her head. "Alright, I'm leaving it to you. I'll finish up a few things and be right there, okay?" he told her.

She nodded and left the office calmly, making her way to the kitchen. There, she set to work preparing dinner for the two of them.

Claramond continued writing on the computer until he was interrupted by another call. As he checked his mobile and saw who it was, he sighed and let the phone ring without answering.

It was Melisa. Claramond supposed he knew what she wanted, and he did not see it as important to answer the call since it would always end the same.

A few moments passed and Melisa's persistence caused Claramond to sigh. He eventually answered the call with some annoyance.

"Melisa, I asked you not to call me on this number," he said.

"Please... I need you right now..." Melisa's voice came weakly from the other end. Claramond noticed something odd in her voice.

"What did you do?" he asked, rising to his feet.

"I just had a few drinks... wanted to remember what we did before... Please come... I can't move... I feel dizzy," Melisa spoke. Claramond was smart; he knew this was one of her tactics to get what she wanted, but he wouldn't be swayed.

"If you drank too much, you'll have a severe hangover tomorrow. I'll bring you medicine then; I can't come now, so take care," Claramond said, hanging up before turning off his phone.

He sat back down and continued writing until he was done. He printed some documents and signed them with blue ink, then placed them in a folder before standing to leave the office.

On his way out, he saw Rose quietly cooking in the kitchen and decided to join her.

"I'm finished with work. How's it going for you?" he asked. She turned around and gave a small smile before scooping half the breakfast onto a plate.

"Wow, fish steak and pasta. That looks delicious," Claramond said with a smile.

She served the rest of the food onto another plate, and they both headed to the dining room to start their meal. They enjoyed a quiet dinner, and after finishing, Rose began washing the dishes with Claramond's help until a noise caught him off guard.

It was his work mobile, which only rang at those hours for emergencies.

"Wait here for a moment," Claramond told Rose before walking out of the house to answer the call.

Rose watched him leave. Once he was gone, she finished the dishes and then walked to the living room and sat on the couch to wait.

Shortly after, Claramond re-entered, looking notably perturbed. He hurried to his office and spent a few seconds there before coming out and heading to the bedroom.

Rose, confused, rose to go straight to the bedroom where she opened the door and saw Claramond changing into his work attire, which consisted of a white shirt, trousers, and a lab coat.

"Rose... I'm sorry, but I have to leave. There's a work emergency," Claramond told her as he moved towards her. She nodded and simply looked away. "I'll be back tomorrow... Please sleep well," he said before leaving the room and rushing out of the house.

Once he was gone, Rose just went to the bed and laid down on the left side. There was nothing to do but wait...
