FIORELLA FERRAZ
He's sweaty, he looks like he just ran a marathon. I approached cautiously, afraid to touch him, but I wanted so much to feel that body in my hand. This man is so big he barely fits on this sofa, poor thing, he slept here all night.
"Mr. Argo," I whispered, standing next to him, but he didn't even flinch.
I reached my hand towards his broad chest, trembling like a leaf. I was scared, as if I were poking a sleeping lion, but I still approached.
"What are you doing?" I startled when he grabbed my hand before I could touch him.
"Nothing, I want to leave," I pulled my hand away from his grip.
He jumped off the sofa, threw me a look and went into the bathroom. I sat where he slept and closed my eyes to breathe. My heart raced wildly. I shouldn't have gotten so close or tried to touch him. What is this man going to think of me now?
He didn't take long to come out of the bathroom in a hurry, buttoning up his shirt.
"Let's go!" he approached the table, grabbed his gun and tucked it behind his back. I followed him, eager to get out of there, wanting to take a shower, to remove this clingy dress from my body, and most importantly, to say goodbye to my father and brother. They're returning to Germany today.
Argo opened the door for me, the guys, henchmen, also entered. I stayed silent throughout the journey, while he did something on his laptop, probably commanding the arms smuggling.
"Daddy!" I ran when I saw Adalberto waiting at the gate.
"Daughter, how was your night? Are you okay? Did you sleep well?"
"I'm okay, father."
"Mr. Argo, good morning! Did Fiorella give you trouble?"
"Good morning! Adalberto, can you go to my office?" Argo said and hurried away. Loretha, who was arriving, turned back to accompany her husband.
"Fiorella Ferraz, did you push him over the edge?"
"I didn't do anything, Jonah, I swear! He needs to take anger medication. He's like a wild hyena, always in a bad mood."
"Man, are you calling Mr. Argo a wild hyena?" he laughed.
"Show some respect, daughter. Don't let anyone hear that. I'll talk to Argo, and I want to talk to you too. Go in, have something to eat, and go to your office."
"What are you going to talk about, father?"
"You'll find out," we entered, my father went to Argo's office.
"Jonah, what does dad want to talk about?"
"He wants to cancel the marriage."
"What?" I jumped for joy.
"Don't get too excited, I'm sure he'll marry you to Victor, but think about it, you'll live with us in Germany, better than living on the other side of the country, right?"
"I'll find a way not to marry Victor, Jonah. I'm happy just because my father wants to cancel. But... Argo will refuse."
"And if he accepts?"
"I'll come back with you today." I jumped for joy and hugged Jonah, I'm so happy.
"Nothing like one day after another. Can I know why you're happy?" Loretha suddenly appeared.
"Yes, you can. My father wants to cancel the marriage agreement, Loretha."
"Really?" she seems worried.
"It's true," Jonah answered.
"Argo will never accept, Fiorella." I felt discouraged when I heard her say those words. "Take a quick shower and change your clothes so we can talk."
I nodded and watched Loretha leave.
"Go ahead, sis. Good luck!" Jonah disappeared from my sight.
I took a shower and put on a floral dress. I didn't eat anything, I don't even feel hungry, knowing that my destiny is being decided at this very moment. I went to the room where they were talking, there's a man outside.
"I'm Adalberto's daughter," he opened the door for me.
There are security guards even inside this house, a true prison.
"Daddy," I ran and sat next to him. Argo alternated his gaze between me and Adalberto. He seems less angry now, I would say... happy.
I couldn't help but feel relieved. The father wants to terminate the marriage contract and even pay me for it. I was excited about Adalberto's proposal, but when she entered the room, a pang of refusal touched my heart. I remembered that they were leaving today and Fiorella would go with them.
"Fiorella, Argo accepted the cancellation of this marriage with his son."
The girl looked at me with fear when her father said, perhaps not believing that I would accept so easily.
"You accepted?" she asked.
"I did." I confirmed, Fiorella continued to look at me. I am on the verge of retracting my decision, I admit.
"I want to ask you something, daughter. Do you want to get married or not?"
She continues to look at me and I don't like that look. What does this girl want? I thought she would be happy, damn it!
"Aren't you happy? You said in this room that you didn't want this marriage." I asked.
"Daddy, are you going to marry me to Victor?" she looked at her father and asked.
Who is this Victor?
"We can talk about it another day, Fiorella."
"Before I decide, I want to know one thing." Fiorella raised her voice, I just observed. "How much will you gain from this marriage?"
"Daughter, that is a matter for us men."
"I want to know before I decide."
"Money, allied country, agreements, maybe new members, and much more." I spoke, her father spared this girl too much. It's time for her to grow up and know where she's stepping.
"Is that true, daddy?"
"It's true, daughter. There are many benefits."
"May I talk to Mr. Argo alone?"
"With me?" I got scared. "I don't think it's a good idea, if you wanted to leave, just accept it."
She looks devastated and sad. I remember the scene from earlier today on the couch. If I had taken 2 more seconds to wake up, she would have touched me. What is this crazy girl trying to do? She must not, under any circumstances, feel attracted to me, the father of her future husband. On top of that, she's just a girl, this is terrible! It sends shivers down my spine just to think about a girl being in love with me.
"Dad, let me talk to Mr. Argo, please." her father stands up and leaves. She takes a few seconds to speak. I stay silent, waiting for her to gather courage on her own. "Do you want to give up on all of this?"
"The benefits would be great, I can't deny it. I agree that we would gain much more with this marriage, but if you want to go, go."
"Why don't you like me?" I was lost, I didn't expect Fiorella to ask me that right now.
"I have nothing against you."
"That's a lie." she stands up from the chair and holds onto the table.
"You want to know?" I also stand up, she backs away. "You arrived yesterday and you've given me nothing but a headache. Always questioning everything I say, not respecting my orders. You're ill-mannered and I don't want to raise a second rebellious daughter, Jared already does that very well." I walk around the table and get closer to her. "It's a favor you're doing me, insolent girl."
"DAD?" the fucker shouted, I had to get away from her in that same second.
If she wants to leave, fuck it. It's one less problem, and I still won't risk having a child in love with me. Her eyes say a lot and I have enough experience to know when something is happening. She smells like a virgin nymph, crazy to be fucked. It's a headache that can only be cured with surgery.
