Episode 6

"Uhhh!"

Vale yawned and stretched. Then, she blinked and slowly opened her eyes.

The first thing that entered her view was Riu, who was still curled up under the blanket.

Vale felt something was strange. Memories of last night slowly entered her mind and made her aware.

"I remember, last night I was still sitting on the sofa, feeling so sleepy that I forgot when he came back. So, why am I now in bed?" murmured Vale.

Once again, she looked at her husband who was still lying in the opposite bed. Sleeping soundly.

"But... it's impossible for him to have moved me. He can't even take off my clothes, so how could he lift my heavy body," Vale continued while rolling her hair carelessly.

After cleaning herself and putting on neatly folded clothes, Vale approached Riu, who was still sound asleep. She gently shook Riu's arm that was still covered by the blanket, calling out with a slightly louder voice.

Soon enough, Riu's pair of eyes began to open. A sweet smile greeted Vale that morning. Strange jitters slowly approached Vale's heart, particularly when she remembered yesterday's incident. Oh, that 'something.' Vale finally shook her head, restraining her eyes from gleefully glancing in that direction.

"Why?"

Vale became nervous instantly, "Mmm, no. I just wanted to say it's already morning, hurry up and get up!"

Riu didn't question Vale's behavior anymore. Because, in truth, he knew what Vale was feeling, embarrassed and nervous.

However, Riu didn't want to create awkwardness between them. So, he chose to stay silent and tried to get up from bed. With Vale's assistance, it didn't take long for him to get out of bed and sit on the wheelchair.

"I'll call Baron real quick, and I'll prepare breakfast for you too," Vale said after escorting Riu to the bathroom.

"Thank you."

After receiving the answer, Vale hurriedly left. However, before she could even step out of the door, she remembered something.

"Mmm... about last night... how did you get to the bed?"

"Baron helped me. You were sleeping so soundly, I didn't have the heart to disturb you," Riu replied.

"Where did I sleep?"

Riu furrowed his brow, "In the bed. Where else?"

Vale shook her head while scratching her nape. She felt relieved knowing that she didn't fall asleep on the sofa. But unfortunately, Vale was too quick to continue her steps, thus missing Riu's meaningful smile.

In the spacious and luxurious office, Riu sat staring intently at his phone, which at that moment displayed a photo of Vale. Although taken from the side, her beautiful and captivating features were clearly visible. Riu couldn't tear his eyes away from the image.

"My woman," Riu murmured, a faint smile playing on his lips.

Actually, Riu still wanted to linger on the photo, but unfortunately, Baron had arrived and sat in front of him. In addition to bringing lunch for him, Baron also brought information about Vale's past.

"You'd better eat first, Sir, because the information I bring will surely surprise you."

Riu looked deeply at his trusted aide, as if protesting what he had just said.

"Say it now!" Riu ordered, very firmly. Baron's earlier request only made him more curious. What could Vale's past be like?

"But, Sir**_"

"I don't like repeating myself," Riu concluded.

With no other choice, Baron finally handed a piece of paper to Riu, complete with a brown envelope containing photos of Vale with her ex, who was none other than Kelvin.

While Riu was still scrutinizing the information, Baron looked on anxiously. He knew that lately his boss had been smiling more often, all because of Vale. However, who knows what would happen when he found out that the woman was Kelvin's ex, his own nephew. He might get angry and lose his smile again.

"Kelvin... he's apparently that foolish man," Riu said, squeezing the paper and its photos.

Hate? Of course. Out of so many men, why did it have to be Kelvin? London was vast, but why did it have to be his own nephew?

Whether she liked it or not, Riu's mind wandered everywhere. Guessing and imagining what she had done with Vale. Even though Vale's confession was betrayed because she was not willing to satisfy his desires, it didn't mean they had never kissed, right? Damn it, those red and plump lips, she hadn't even touched them herself.

"What should we do now, Sir?" Baron asked cautiously.

Riu snorted harshly, "Nothing. Get out!"

"Don't forget your food, Sir." Baron didn't argue. He quickly got up and left the room, knowing that his master wanted to be alone.

"Ah!" Riu growled, releasing her overflowing emotions. Vale was the only woman who had knocked on the doors of her heart, but unfortunately, she had a past with Kelvin. Even he was the one who made Vale heartbroken and deeply disappointed, to the point of agreeing to a hasty marriage.

"Kelvin, after this you will know who I am. Whatever you and your parents did, I will repay it twicefold. And as for Vale... even if you regret and want to go back to her, I will never let her go. The ex that you wasted, I will introduce her as the aunt you must respect when the time comes," Riu said, her fist clenched tightly. Her resentment towards Annisa was burning even more.

Meanwhile, in a different place, Annisa and Theo were also filled with anxiety. How could they not be, early in the morning the husband and wife received a call from their trusted person in Indonesia, who had been a spy in her father's company.

"Mr. Jason will take care of the power of attorney on behalf of Mr. Riu. He said that he is already married."

Although it was just one piece of information, it had already made Annisa and Theo panic. They had gone to great lengths to engineer an accident to make Riu permanently disabled and unmarriageable. But it turned out that he got married at a relatively young age. What kind of luck was favoring him?

"It's because you're stubborn. I've told you many times before, just kill him. But you... insisted on just making him disabled. Now look what happened? He can get married, he can get the assets from Papa. We made a big loss," Theo cursed with a high pitch.

"He is permanently disabled, I thought no one would want to marry him."

"He's not a fool, obviously he is capable of finding a solution. Now gold-digging women are everywhere. It's not difficult for him to find one of them. With money, he can hire a woman to marry him. Contract marriages are now rampant. Why can't you think about that?"

Theo vented his emotions again, while Annisa just looked down. She was indeed greedy, but she still had a little fear of killing Riu. She thought that making him disabled was more than enough. She didn't know it would still cause new problems.

"I will discuss it with Camelia first," Annisa said shortly after.

"Sooner is better. I don't want the assets there to fall into your sister's hands completely. It's for Kelvin's future," Theo replied, roughly wiping his face.

Truly, he was not willing if Riu got a share of Jason's inheritance. It was already hard enough to share with Camelia, let alone Riu as well. Among the many beautiful women he had dated, he ended up marrying Annisa, who had an average face at best. The reason was nothing but wealth. So, if he didn't get maximum wealth now, Theo felt it was a huge loss.
