Episode 9 : Change
It was 3am in the morning when Talia arrived by the tavern with all her luggage.
She stood by the back porch with her hood on hesitating to knock on the closed door. Just then...
The door opened and Bernie saw the hooded figure in front of her.
Bernie
How may I help you?
Talia
Ah...Bernie it's me...
Bernie
Talia? Good timing, come in and hand me one of those bags your room is already prepared.
Bernie said as she recognized the voice of the girl in a hood.
Talia stepped foot into the tavern following Bernie as she led her to the room she will be staying at from now on.
Bernie
Some of the goods will be arriving before 4 in the morning, sounds tough huh?
Talia
Is it like this everyday?
Bernie
Haha yeah, I have to wake up early and close late. But hey, atleast we get the money and if it's holidays even better.
The two conversed as they stepped and walked over the wooden stairs.
Bernie spoke, stopping by a door and fumbling for the keys in her pocket.
It is not that long of a walk, Talia's new room is up on the second floor by the end of the left hallway.
Bernie
Would you need some help with the unpacking?
Talia
No need, thank you Bernie.
Bernie
Alright then if you need something just call m...?
Talia tapped Bernie's shoulder before she could leave.
She wanted to show Bernie how she looked like now since it might become to much of a shock to do it later.
As Talia looks nothing like who she was yesterday.
She pulled off the hood and her long brown hair showed.
For a short while, Bernie frowned and observed Talia's face.
Bernie
You dyed your hair?
Talia
Yes I did just a few hours ago.
Bernie
Thank you for letting me know.
Bernie sighed and patted Talia on her head. Afterwards, she turned around to leave since she needed to prepare for the opening of the tavern today.
Talia
Yeah, thank you Bernie.
Talia
( I guess I should be glad she didn't have that big of a reaction with my change in appearance. )
Talia
( That said this is quite a good hair color indeed. )
Talia
( I should unpack my things quickly and help out. )
