i realised i never said their ages so here they are: Chan:24 lee know: 23 cahngbin: 22 hyunjin: 22 han: 21 felix:21 seugnmin:21 Jeongin: 20 Chan finished uni at 21, and started the business at 21, half a year after he graduated, so he has been in charge for 2 and a half years

and soon, they leave for Hans first shift

they arrive and enter the restaurant, Divine. Inside, Chan goes to find a table to sit at, and Han goes to the lady at the receptionist desk

She disappears through a hidden door behind the desk, and Han is left staring after her

suddenly, the door opens again, and a man in a suit and multiple earrings comes out with the lady behind him

through the whole conversation, Chan was sitting at a single table watching the interaction, however he couldn't see Yeonjuns face as he was covered by Han

and then Yeonjun puts his hand out to shake, and Han moves forward to shake it, and Chan sees and recognizes Yeonjun

The two hug like old friends while Luna and Han stand to the side, awkward. Finally, Luna gestures for Han to follow her, and they head to the front desk

I haven't seen you in quite a while!

finally, the one friend I can call old! 😁

*sighs* just the same as ever

*lowers voice* but I have information

The two slip through the door behind the counter, Han watching in confusion

(he said he'd watch my first day!) *confused*

is there anything else you need help with?

She had shown him how the computer worked, how to put orders in if anyone approached, otherwise the waiter/waitresses would collect orders, where the cash box was and any other important detail.

Jisung

No, I think I'm fine

Luna

ok, just one more thing

She disappears behind the door again and returns with a black shirt with the word divine and a steaming bowl drawn underneath

this is the uniform

if you'd like, you can wear it on top of your shirt or you can change

Jisung

I'll wear it on top for now

Luna hands the shirt over, and Han puts it on, and then Luna leaves telling him that she'll be in the back, and she'll come every now and then to check on him. If anything went wrong, he was to put a sign: not available, on the desk and look for her behind the desk

(so I can go behind that door!) *excited*

He settles behind the table, and eventually a couple approaches

note: I use the 'someone' profile for someone who's not important, who'll never appear in the story again, and I use the 'unknown' profile for someone who's important, and will be introduced properly in the story, like yeonjun was

He takes their money, and the waitress leads them to their table. The job was quite easy and Han found that he had a lot of time to himself in-between customers, so he would stare around at the restaurant

and from where the desk was, he had a view into the kitchen

he also noticed right at the back of the restaurant, a bar, but since the lights were off in that area, and there was no one at the desk, he assumed it only opened at night

about half an hour after, Luna comes to check on him, but everything is going well. And then it's not.

the computer that he was putting the orders for tables in for stopped working, the screen turned black, and it would not wake up, no matter what he did

Han looked up, and thankfully saw no customers coming, so he put the 'not available' sign and headed to the door behind the desk

he opens the door, and to his disappointment, it only leads to a corridor, with a few doors on either side. He walks down it, wishing he had been given specific directions of where to find Luna. He continues down the hallway, peering into the rooms with open doors, and knocking on the ones that were closed. No one responded

Most of the rooms were store rooms, some holding crates of bottles of water or oil, or products such as flour, eggs, rice, and occasional vegetables. Others had cleaning equipment like brooms and wind blowers, which Han found weird. Most of the doors were made of silver steel, making an echoing sound on the ones he had knocked on. others were like classroom door, hard plastic (I don't know how to describe them).

He reached the end of the hallway, and realized that it split into two at the end, left and right.

Jisung

(which way do I go?!)

He listened and thought he heard someone talking or muttering towards the left, and turned left, hoping whoever it was could help at least find Luna

the voice got louder the closer he got, and then he realized it was actually two people talking, one seemed to be asking questions, and the other seemed to be answering. And the first voice sounded familiar

Jisung

(Chan?!)

Indeed, it was Chan, as he saw when he reached a steel door with a glass window at the top, and he looked inside. He was talking with yeonjun, and their voices had sounded muffled because the steel door was blocking their voices

Han sighed in relief at having found someone, and was about to knock when he heard his name

Jisung

(they're talking about me?!)

Yeonjun had led Chan to the room to talk, and they had both sat down and Chan immediately asked Yeonjun to relate everything from the beginning. (I won't say in detail what they were talking about as I want some of it to stay a secret but I'll tell u the main idea)

Yeonjun worked under Chan's company, Bang Protection Organization, and had been friends with Chan from middle school. He had been sent on a mission by Chan 2 years back as a sort of spy to gather information, and they realized after an assassination attempt on Chan from the investigated party, that it was probably better to not keep in contact, lest they find out about Yeonjun and therefore Chan. So they had not been in contact for a year, and then they met up once at the end of the year so yeonjun could give any information he had to Chan, and then spent another year infiltrating again, so it had been a year since he had seen Chan

Yeonjun had opened up a restaurant and had not contacted Chan as he knew it was risky. He had opened it, so the party wouldn't consider him suspicious for being without a job, and also because he knew restaurants could double as a secret base for him, or a fallback place, and also because it meant free food 😅

After Yeonjun finished talking about his mission, he asked how Chan had been recently, and Chan told him about Han's arrival back in Korea and how he was worried about ********. That was when Han arrived and heard his name

*hesitates wanting to hear more*

Jisung

(no, I shouldn't be listening at doors)

(that's the exact thing you shouldn't do on your first day)

So he took a deep breath and knocked loudly on the door. Yeonjun and Chan both looked at the door startled, and saw Han, looking nervous

*gets up and goes to the door*

Yeonjun

*opens it* what's wrong?

Jisung

*suddenly really nervous and sweating* um, t-the computer at the front desk stopped working

I was looking for Luna, but I don't know these hallways, so I couldn't find her, and then I found you guys, so can you help?

Bangchan

*in the room* (did he hear out conversation?)

Bangchan

(Yeonjun told me he accidentally called me Christopher in front of him)

Bangchan

(I hope he didn't hear)

Yeonjun

of course I can help

the three of them leave the room and go back to the desk, where Yeonjun shows Han that the computers wire had been cut, and produced a new wire and fixed it. He took a few minutes to get it started again, and then promised to show Han around the back after he finished the shift

*relieved he wasn't in trouble* thank you si- Yeonjun

*looks at Yeonjun*

He then walks back to his table, which had been reserved when he had gone with Heonjun earlier, and proceeded to order a meal. Han's shift finished and then Yeonjun appeared, to fulfill his promise of showing Han around the back
