Next morning in the BI news channel head office.

Head editor

You are the one with the mission, right?

The head editor asked, eyes piercing through Davis.

Davis froze, his heart skipping a beat. How did he know? This was supposed to be a secret mission.

Davis

Uh, yes, sir.

He stammered, trying to mask his surprise.

The head editor, noticing Davis's discomfort, offered a reassuring smile.

Head editor

Don't worry, Davis. Only the boss and I know about the mission. You're in good hands.

Davis

Oh, I'm sorry!

Davis replied, still a bit flustered.

Davis

I wasn't informed about this arrangement earlier.

Head editor

It's okay

The head editor reassured him.

Head editor

Now go and meet your team on the first floor. They're preparing to leave in 10 minutes. So run!

The head editor tapped Davis on the shoulder before leaving.

Davis

What? What!!?

Davis was shocked to realize he had only 10 minutes to get to the first floor, and he was currently on the 10th floor.

Having climbed up through the stairs earlier because the lift was under maintenance, he now had to rush back down.

He sprinted towards the stairwell, taking the steps two at a time, his heart pounding with urgency.

Davis finally reached the first floor, breathing heavily. He paused for a moment, hands on his knees, trying to catch his breath.

The hurried descent had taken a toll, but he was relieved to have made it in time.

Davis

Ha! I finally reached!

But when he lifted his head, he saw his team members glaring at him for being late.

Their expressions were a mix of impatience and frustration, making Davis realize he needed to quickly regain his composure and make a good impression.

Seeing Davis, his team leader approached.

Team leader

And okay, everyone, let's go!

The team leader said, glaring at Davis angrily.

And at that moment Davis knew he f*cked up.
