Episode 5

WITH MADISON

I had woken up a bit early, unable to sleep due to the joy I felt from the news my parents had given me last night. This morning I truly felt good; I wished my mornings could always be this happy, to always have that joy and smile within me. But well, after being pensive in bed for five minutes, it was already 6:40 AM, and we had to be at the airport by 08:00 AM. Knowing I take forever to shower, I'd be late if I didn't hurry.

I went into the shower, and after 20 minutes, I managed to come out. I put on a brown skirt with checks, then a light-colored sweater-blouse with long sleeves, and something to cover myself on top of that, since here in Italy it was a bit cool.

By the time I had gotten dressed, I was running a bit late. I quickly combed my hair, packed some last-minute items into my suitcase, when I heard strange noises downstairs in the living room. I thought it was my parents, already in a hurry, making noise so that I would speed up too.

Quickly, I grabbed my two big suitcases and went downstairs, but as I was descending, I saw my parents kneeling on the floor and many men pointing guns at them. There was one man who wasn't pointing his weapon; he was sitting on a couch in front of them, looking at them with a half-serious expression and a sly smile. He was a handsome man, very tall, with somewhat fair skin. I would say yes, dark eyes, and long, straight, black hair falling slightly over his face; he looked about 22 years old.

I instantly threw my suitcases to the floor and rushed down the stairs towards my parents.

MADISON: W-who are you and what are you doing here!!! I blurted out without thinking, scared and hugging my parents. Please don't hurt us, we haven't done anything. I said sobbing and afraid, not understanding any of this.

WITH LEANDRO

I woke up early today, stepping out of the apartment where my men were waiting for me outside the large building.

LEANDRO: What have you got for me. I asked sternly to one of my guards as I put on my black jacket.

GUARD: The Gonzalezes haven't left yet, but they will in about 20 minutes according to the report.

LEANDRO: Well then, let's get moving. I said.

Arriving at the Gonzalez residence, I found those fools bringing their suitcases outside to leave. I was boiling with anger seeing that; I wasn't going to let them get away with all the money they had stolen from me.

LEANDRO: Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez, going on a trip? I said with a fake smile.

MR. SIMON: Oh g-good morning, Mr. Leandro. he said, surprised to see me.

LEANDRO: You're going on a trip? I asked again.

MRS. GEORGINA: Yes, yes, we're leaving, but it will only be for a few days, and then we will return since we have business with you. she said with a fearful smile.

LEANDRO: Oh I see. But could I just tell you something quickly before you go? It won't take long. I said, ready to act on my plan. May I come in? I asked, appearing calm.

MR. SIMON: Well, yes, of course, come in, Mr. Leandro. he said, somewhat scared.

The Gonzalezes already suspected that Leandro had discovered their betrayal and didn't know what to do.

LEANDRO: Yes, thank you, it won't take much time. I said, looking them in the eyes with a murderous look. Get in! I shouted to my men.

MR. SIMON: W-what's wrong, Mr. Leandro, what are you doing? he asked, now terrified.

LEANDRO: WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME!? Do you think I'm stupid??? My true self burst forth. I know you've been stealing from me, you damned fools!! I said as they just looked at me terrified.

MR. SIMON: I don't know what you're talking about, Mr. Leonardo. he said.

LEANDRO: Want me to refresh your memory?? I said sternly. Bring him in! I ordered.

My men brought in the one who had helped them rob me; he was one of my own.

LEANDRO: SPEAK UP! I yelled, making him fall to the floor. You know him, right??

MR. SIMON: Sorry, please forgive us! It was all my wife's fault and idea. he said, kneeling on the floor, begging for forgiveness.

MRS. GEORGINA: You damn fool, how dare you! Why can't you ever keep your mouth shut! You're just like your daughter! she yelled angrily.

LEANDRO: Oh, look at this. I said with a sly smile as I watched them kneeling before me; I loved seeing people on their knees begging me. when suddenly a girl came running down the stairs. It was the girl I had seen in the photo; definitely more beautiful in person. Not too tanned nor too fair, of average height and somewhat slender, in my opinion, with large, beautiful brown eyes and long chestnut hair. She had a very scared look and was crying as she went to her parents and stood in front of them, embracing them.

When she asked me what I was doing here, she snapped me out of my thoughts, and that's when I told her that.
