Episode 13

WITH MADISON

I woke up cursing yet again, finding myself in the room of that miserable old man. It definitely seemed like I would never escape from here, I thought sadly and with regret. I had no idea what time it was because I couldn’t find my phone. I started searching everywhere for it. When I finally found it, it was already 02:00 PM; it looked like I'd passed out for quite a while. I went to change my clothes since the ones I was wearing were dirty and somewhat torn. Fortunately, some of my stuff was here—I don’t know when they brought it. It seemed odd but I didn’t pay it much attention and just went into the bathroom. Afterward, I came out, changed into something comfortable.

I was extremely hungry at that point, so I went down to get some food. I already knew what to expect from that man, but for some strange reason, I wasn't afraid. He didn’t strike me as outright evil but definitely shameless, a pervert, and things like that. But then again, that did somehow make him a bad person, I mused with a furrowed brow.

Upon reaching the kitchen, I opened the fridge and took out some cold cuts and other stuff to eat. It seemed like nobody was around at the moment.

I was eating calmly when I saw someone enter. I slowly lifted my head and saw a girl, about Leandro’s age or older, watching me from the door with a serious expression.

JENNIFER: Hey, who are you, and what are you doing here? - she asked sternly, an eyebrow raised -

MADISON: Well, I don't know what I would be in this house, oh yes, right, I'm a hostage that they've kept here - I said seriously, crossing my arms - and who are you? - I asked -

JENNIFER: Wait, what? Look, don't play games with me, girl, tell me who you are! - she demanded irritably - Well, I am the future wife and mother of Leandro’s child, the boss of this house - she said with a serious face, pulling out a triumphant smile - so whoever you are, I want you out of this house NOW! - she said -

MADISON: If I could, I swear I would, you know? I'm not interested in your stupid boss, he’s the one holding me here, and I'm not lying when I tell you he kidnapped me. Whether you believe me or not is none of my concern - I said seriously as I walked away, but she stopped me by grabbing my arm tightly -

JENNIFER: Look, girl, I don’t know what game you’re playing but you are leaving right now!! - she said angrily while grabbing Madison's hair, making her wince in pain -

MADISON: Ouch, what is wrong with you, crazy woman, let go of me, I don’t care about that decrepit old man - I said while trying to break free from her grab - LET ME GO!! - I shouted angrily and managed to pull away - LOOK, LADY, YOU BETTER NOT HIT ME AGAIN! - I exclaimed loudly - I won't do anything because you're pregnant, and I don't want a death on my conscience, especially of an innocent being, but you are a damned viper - I said, tired, truth is when someone brings out the worst in me, I can be a very nasty person -

JENNIFER: You better not try anything, because Leandro will kill you if you so much as touch a hair on my head - she taunted with a smile -

MADISON: Yeah, right, as if I care about him in the slightest - I responded seriously -

JENNIFER: I hope so. Anyway, I doubt he'd be interested in a little girl like you. He’s obviously used to real women like me - she said while turning to examine herself - you’re nowhere near my level -

MADISON: Ha! And who would want to be like you? - I said, looking her up and down with a peculiar look while raising an eyebrow - Don’t flatter yourself, dear. And tell me, how much did the nose job cost you? - I teased her -

JENNIFER: You are... - she is interrupted -

MADISON: I am what? Just so you know, I'm not someone to be intimidated. You might see me as a little girl, but I am not, and neither you nor anyone else is going to intimidate me - I said, looking at her seriously. I was about to say more when Leandro arrived with a stern face, scrutinizing both of us.

LEANDRO: It seems you two have already met - he stated, looking at us -

JENNIFER: No, who is this brat and what is she doing here? - she said angrily -

MADISON: Well, if I’m a brat, you're old, just like him - I retorted, pointing at Leandro -

LEANDRO: Enough from both of you - he said loudly - both of you will stay here - he declared - and you - pointing at Madison - we need to talk now, and don’t think you’ll get away with what you did today, you’ll regret it - he said, frowning angrily -

JENNIFER: No, she cannot stay under the same roof as me. Get her out of here. Why are you keeping her, are you in love with her? - She accusingly said, on the verge of tears -

LEANDRO: Stop talking nonsense. She stays because I say so, and here we go by my orders, no explanations necessary - he stated firmly -

JENNIFER: YOU WON’T STEAL MY MAN, YOU WRETCHED GIRL! - she yelled at Madison -

MADISON: I've already told you, I’m not interested in your old man. You can keep him forever - I exclaimed as I started walking up the stairs, with Leandro glaring angrily at me for what I said -

LEANDRO: I won’t allow you to leave without my permission, you foolish girl, COME HERE NOW! - he shouted, but I ignored him and continued going up the stairs. He lost his patience and followed me angrily, papers in hand.
