CHAPTER 4: Night shed

We stood there, silent, as the sound of countless growls and howls passed by along with the fading rumblings. We then look at Arato in confusion.

“Dude, what was that just now?” Damien asked. “I couldn’t utter a single word”, he said as breathed out.

“That’s just the usual Basic control of Raijin. It’s common grade knowledge”. Arato shrugged. “Those, Just now, were a pack of phantom wolves. They lock their targets using sound frequency. I just cut off any energy that allows sound to be transmitted through the air."

“ That’s one accurate amount of control”. Damien said. We then hear a loud snore, catching our attention. We turn our heads to see Ishiki in a sleeping bag, snoring with drool down his mouth.

“ Wow!, He can sleep in this situation” Damien said as I smiled warily. Kuro then got up with his sleeping bag and went into a dark corner of the cave. Damien then enters his sleeping bag and starts snoring.

“ Does he always sleep with his glasses?” Arato watched Damien dumbfounded. He then looks at me.

“ Now” he breathed out. “ Why does someone like you want to become a hunter?”. He asked, watching me coldly and questioningly. I sighed, recognizing those same eyes. The same eyes the shadow of my other friends have when they look at me, the son of the world’s number one hero. Draco.

“Aaaaa. Sorry”. He said catching on.

“ No worries, after all, you aren’t the first to Give me the you-are-lucky look.” I said.

“ So, What brings you guys here?” I asked. Arato then looked at me, his eyes glowing Azure.

“ If I told you, you did have to die” he said as the ice started to spread on the walls of the cave. The air became chilly. I felt like I was drowning in the waters of death. He then smiled warmly. I then widened my eyes, holding my neck. He then looked toward the corner of the room where Kuro was resting. He then narrowed his eyes at Kuro’s sleeping bag.

“ Oioi. No need to get serious, just joking”. He raised his hands as he rolled his eyes. But I still felt the threat lingering in my head that said that his words were no joke.

“Anyway, see ya,” he said as. He entered his sleeping bag. He then stared as Kuro’s sleeping bag one last time, then closed his eyes. I then sighed as I laid in my sleeping bag.

Timeskip....

“ Don’t…….”. In the void, the deep, dark parts of my dreams. I saw a silhouette that looked like a female, it was dark, and it looked like she was searching for something or someone. She felt familiar. It felt like she was saying something, but all I heard was

“Don’t…..”. Then a glowing fiery ball appeared from the sky, burning her to crisp.

“ I will find you”, she said full of sorrow as she shrieked as she turned to ash.

I jolted up, which caused my lips to collide with Arato's.

“ I don’t swing that way”. He said as he held my head and threw me to the other end of the cave as Kuro dodged. Kuro then turns with lightning speed and kicks my stomache sending me straight to Damien, who was just getting up, knocking him out. Damien groans and looks at Kuro.

“Bro, what the hell was that”. Damien looks at Kuro. Kuro then shrugged and packed his bags. I then look at Arashiki.

“What about your bro?” I asked, my elbows up. “He’s scouting. Better hurry up” Dashiki called as he descended from the mountainous cave. We then continue to climb the island.

As we continued to climb we then heard an explosion at different places of the island sending repetitive shock was. We then stop to assess the situation.

“ My, O my” we then hear a foreign voice. We then turn our heads to look in the direction of the voice. A slim man with green, long silky hair stood in front of us. He just kept releasing danger signs in my head. He had a sly, creepy smile and had a fitting red suit and a fitting red pants with office boots. He then looks at us with his abnormally white eyes, his pupils included. He cocked his head as he laughed synically, like a hyena that found his prey. We instinctively stepped back. He then took a step forward, causing the red aura around him to leak from his shoes. The red aura then seeped into the ground, causing red veins to appear from the earth.

“ Devour them. Maker of servants. Hyokutenshi.”
