Episode 4

Pietro's brother knew that he didn't like women, was aware that his brother had always been obsessed with Augusto, and knew about his brother's entire plan to get the person he wanted. Pietro had a fixed lover, he also had his own needs, and that would continue until he had Augusto in his hands. Until he had his beloved in his arms, he had to settle for a substitute. Furthermore, that man never gave him any trouble, because he knew that if he opened his mouth, he would die.

He snapped out of his reverie when his brother called him, he put away that photo and paid attention to his brother.

"And now, what's the next step?" he was curious.

"I imagine he must be worried, since Alice's birthday is next week, and speaking of which, I need to throw a party for my fiancée," he smiled at his brother, who smiled back.

"He must be desperate to save his sister, and that's where his friend comes in. He hadn't realized the loophole in the contract until Mark pointed it out to him. Now we just have to wait."

"You're very cunning," he admired his brother.

"And you take advantage of the party I'm throwing to win the woman you love, you idiot. You know what you have to do. If you do everything right, she'll be moved. So play your role of Romeo and conquer your Juliet," they laughed again.

"I know you'll make her happier than I ever could, so don't waste this chance."

Pietro was willing to do anything for the ones he loved. He would get the man he desired and, as a bonus, give his brother a chance to be happy with Alice. While they were still in the office, Pietro received a message from one of the Mafia's lawyers, informing him that Augusto had contacted them. Things were better than he had thought. He just had to wait one more week for everything to truly begin.

The day before Alice's birthday, Pietro sent attire again to Augusto's family. It would be strange if he only sent it to him. Along with the clothes, he included a note stating the time the driver would pick them all up. This would make it clear that it was a summons, not an invitation, so they couldn't refuse.

Pietro had already organized everything for the following night and went over it with his brother once again. He couldn't risk him ruining everything by getting nervous. He had been planning this since he was thirteen, when he held a gun to that lawyer's face and made him change the contract, even though he was still considered a child. People were already afraid of him, and he didn't mind. He thought it was for the best.

On that day, Pietro went to the company to handle some things. He had a meeting with some board members to distract his mind. While in that meeting, he received a message from Miguel, asking when they would see each other again and saying he missed him. He simply shook his head. That wasn't going to happen, especially with him being so close to getting Augusto.

With his plan finally coming to fruition, he no longer had any interest in continuing his affairs with Miguel. He was just a distraction until that moment arrived. He hoped he wouldn't become jealous, or he would have to put an end to it.

Pietro received a new message and was already imagining it was from Miguel. But when he saw that it wasn't, he paid attention to the message he had received, along with an attached photo. It was information that Augusto was at a restaurant with Mirella.

He knew about their casual friendship, but that would end soon. He got up, interrupting the meeting, and left the room in a rush. He asked them to reserve a table for him at the same restaurant, and then he called Debora.

"Get ready in ten minutes. I'm coming to pick you up for lunch."

Pietro didn't even wait for her to say anything, he immediately hung up the phone. He didn't need to say anything; he knew Debora would understand that he was angry. She knew him well. As he approached, he called her again, asking her to come down quickly.

When he arrived, Debora was already waiting. She was beautiful as always in his eyes. They had known each other since childhood, and she was the only one who wasn't afraid of him back then. Like his brother, Pietro could always be himself with her.

"Alright, can you explain to me what the hell is going on?" she demanded, irritated.

"I need to go to a restaurant and I can't go alone," he heard her smile at his explanation.

"Who's the guy? Should I seduce him, or is it to make someone jealous? Whenever you call me like this, there's a man involved."

Debora also knew he was gay, so they openly talked about everything, at least when they were alone. In front of others, she played along with appearances.

"Augusto will be there," he replied seriously.

His expression changed as he said that, and she noticed. When she heard the name Augusto, she knew Pietro would lose control completely, and that was exactly what Debora was afraid of, his loss of composure depending on what he saw.

As soon as they entered the restaurant, Pietro immediately began scanning the room with his eyes for the two of them. When he spotted them, he headed straight to their table. When Augusto saw him approaching, he looked surprised.

"Calm down, Pietro, stay calm," he spoke to himself.

Mirella, upon seeing him approach, choked on her wine.

"Pietro?" she seemed surprised.

"Mirella, Augusto," he greeted them.

Pietro first took Mirella's hand and then Augusto's. When their hands touched, Augusto felt as if an electric current surged through his body. He didn't hold Pietro's hand for long, quickly releasing it and becoming uncomfortable.

"This is Debora," Pietro introduced her out of courtesy.

After the introductions, Pietro went to his table. He just wanted them to know he was there. Their eyes met a few times, but Augusto never held his gaze. Mirella also looked at him, and Pietro could see what she wanted. Meanwhile, the one being observed became tense at the table. Debora played her role and watched everything. Pietro couldn't wait for the party to begin. That's where the games would truly start.
