Chapter 1

Qingyuan woke up and was shocked by his aching body. 'Why does my body hurt so much?' Qingyuan thought annoyed and got up. Qingyuan got up from the bed and fell silent. 'Why is this atmosphere like I've seen it before? As I recall, I watched the drama Ashes of Love for the fifth time.' Qingyuan thought.

Qingyuan was shocked. "This is Xuan Ji Palace." Qingyuan said in shock and rolled up his sleeves. "It means that Xu Feng is already in the flora realm." Qingyuan grumbled a sigh. "Now you are Runyu. You are Runyu so we will change your bad future." Qingyuan said encouraging himself.

Even though this is crazy but he is in the drama so he doesn't want to fight with the main character so he will change everything before everything starts. His first mission is to stay away from Jinmi and cancel his engagement. The second mission distanced himself from Xufeng and the Heavenly Empress also saved the citizens of Dongting Lake. His last mission, to go to the human realm and live there away from Jinmi and Xufeng.

Qingyuan or what we can call Runyu now, carries out his duties as usual and trains hard so that his magical prowess increases. Today he was tasked with bringing thousands of soldiers against the army from the Demon Realms. Suddenly he was summoned to appear before the Heavenly Emperor.

Runyu arrived there and paid his respects to the Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress. 'Must be the accusation again. Irritating. I have to finish it.' thought Runyu. "Runyu pays respect to Father and Mother." Said Runyu. "Somebody,  come take him down." Said Heavenly Emperor. "What did Runyu do? Please Father clarify for me." Said Runyu calm enough.

Heavenly Emperor show ice sleet. "Look what you did? A hundred thousand of soldier,  how dare to hand them to a disloyal,  disobeyant, unjust and sinful person?!" Said heavenly emperor angrily. "This ice doesn't belong to me." Said Runyu.

'Unlucky! The pain is coming again.' Runyu thought indignantly but still tried to hear what the Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress were saying and answered as necessary from memory. Until Xufeng came, Runyu didn't really hear what they were talking about anymore and just stood there enduring the pain that almost killed him. As soon as they were allowed to leave, Runyu immediately returned to Xuan Ji palace and meditated.

It didn't take long for Xufeng to go to Runyu and help Runyu take out the flame poison. After they finished they chatted casually. "I can only help you to get rid of the flame poison in your body. You might experience pain for these few days. Our psysiques contradict each other. If i forcefully heal you, you'll bear worse injury." Said Xufeng. "Fire and water have never gotten along. Please save your magical prowess for something else. I'm afraid that i can't handle more." Said Runyu. "You know that fire and water don't get along,  then why did you still come to my rescue?" Asked Xufeng.

"You'd do the same too,  right? Liao Yuan has just cleared the ice poison in your body. And now you're here to help me. Mother will blame me if she gets to know about this." Said Runyu. "This is to thank you for saving my life." Said Xufeng smiled. "Xufeng, everyone suspected me. Don't you have doubts?" Asked runyu. "Of course i do. You can't run away if anything happened to me. I rushed to your rescue without even changing into my clean clothes." Said Xufeng jokingly.

"I thank you for that." Said Runyu smile in the end. "You are powerful. But still you're ..." Xufeng stopped his words because Runyu didn't seem to be focused on the conversation. "Are you waiting for someone?" Xufeng asked suddenly. Runyu didn't answer as if focusing on other things. Xufeng touched Runyu's hand holding the teacup.

Runyu looked at Xufeng confused. "Are you waiting for someone?" Xufeng asked again. "Nothing. Why do you ask that?" Runyu asked smiling. Xufeng stood up. "I think we'll talk later. You rest first." Xufeng said before leaving. Runyu closed his door and raised the Xuan Ji Palace's barrier before leaving. With this no one knows he left.

---Dongting Lake---

Runyu went inside easily. Runyu stared at the person in red clothes silence before calling out to her. "Mother." Call runyu. The woman looks shocked. That woman is Su Li, Runyu's biological mother.

"I just came to say you'd better stop that plan. I know your plan and I can tell that your plan will be disaster on everyone. So stop all this, revenge won't bring grandfather back to you." Runyu said flatly. "You left me and now you've come to advise me!" Su Li said angrily. "Then are you planning to make all the citizens of Dongting Lake fall victim to your revenge?!" Runyu said angrily.

Su Li fell silent. “Stop this! I…” Runyu was cut off. "You can become the Lord of Dongting Lake in my place and Dongting Lake will be safe. But I will not stop this revenge." Su Li said stubbornly. "Mother, am I living with you not enough for you?" Runyu asked. Runyu did have the intention of living peacefully with his mother in the human realm.

A little boy is back. "Mother, do you have guests?" asked the little boy. “Li er, come inside.” SuLi said. The little boy called Li er looked obedient. "The decision is in your hands." SuLi said. "I'll think about it." Runyu said then said goodbye.

---Celestial Realm---

°Xuanji Palace°

Runyu fell silent as he thought about the offer. 'If she stops now, maybe her life will be saved but she is stubborn. I'm not sure anyway, the Heavenly Empress will just let Su Li go.' Runyu thought deeply. Even when Xufeng came, Runyu was unconscious about that.

"What do you think?" Xufeng asked, patting Runyu on the shoulder. Runyu looked at Xufeng. "Nothing, do you need anything?" Runyu asked calmly. "I can't visit you?" Xufeng asked disdainfully. "You're very busy with your work. So I thought you came for work? Plus you still haven't found the culprit." Runyu said smiling.

Xufeng frowned. "I just came to chat." Xufeng said. The two of them chatted for a while before both of them went about their respective activities. Runyu remembered that tonight if he went to the lake then he would meet Jinmi so he decided not to go to the lake. The further away the better. Even Runyu managed to avoid Danzhu, the Fox Immortal who was also his and Xufeng's uncle.

The activity of avoiding each other is quite tiring but fun. Runyu will change as much as he can. After all, he is not interested in romance. He just wanted to live in peace until the end. He wouldn't be stupid like Runyu, chasing women who didn't love him.

Kuang Lu still came to work at Xuanji Palace. The qiong qi that invaded the Celestial Realm also occurred and Runyu did not go there. It was Xufeng who saved Jinmi. Xufeng was also sent to the Demon Realm as a result of that incident. This time Runyu left but avoided Xufeng and Jinmi by wearing a robe that covered his body and also a mask over his face. Runyu was still paying for Jinmi's groceries without Xufeng noticing.

Xufeng would only think that people passed by and so would Jinmi. The reason Runyu came to the Demon Realm was not because of Qiongqi but to catch someone. Someone who had been spying on him for years. He will stop this, now and forever.

"You can come out now?" Runyu said calmly. "Mu Ci isn't it?" Add Runyu. Mu Ci rushed out right then and there. "You know you're being followed." Mu Ci said trying to calm down. Runyu grinned. "I don't care how long you play hide and seek. I thought that at first but now I'm getting bored. I have no interest in the Crown Prince's position. Xufeng can have it but interfering with my freedom is really annoying. If you don't want to die then get out of my way." Runyu said ruthlessly.

Mu Ci fell silent. "I can't do it but I won't report all the details. That's all." Mu Ci said. Runyu nodded in agreement before going to sleep. While Mu Ci was off guard, Runyu went to Dongting Lake. But there was no one so Runyu wrote in a paper that he agreed with Su Li's proposal before Runyu returned.

Runyu returned to the Celestial Realm. Just as he was back and doing his duty when he was about to go rest Kuang Lu said that Xufeng was injured in the Demon Realm. Runyu brought Immortal Qi Huang with him to the Demon Realm.

Runyu was straight to the point shocked King of Biancheng and Liu Ying, Princess of Biancheng. "How's Xufeng? I've asked Immortal Qi Huang here to give him treatment." Runyu asked. "It doesn't matter if it's inner injury. But Fire Immortal was hurt by Qiongqi's plaque needles." Said Liu Ying.

"Plaque needles? It's the deadliest poison in the world." Said Kuang Lu. Immortal Qi Huang examines Xufeng. "The poison is under his skin. A day later, it will enter his blood vessels. The next day...." Said Immortal Qi Huang but Runyu didn't hear it. "Your Highness?" Call Kuang Lu worried. Runyu looked at Kuang Lu.

"I was thinking. If I'm not mistaken there's something called a night rattan that can save Xufeng. I'm going to Flora Realms." Runyu said leaving before it could be stopped by the others. Runyu got there first and was silent. 'I can not enter.' Runyu thought.

"I can't be late." Runyu muttered restlessly. He asked Immortal Water as well as Heavenly Emperor to meet. He intended to cancel the engagement and Runyu was forget at the thought that Xufeng would be hurt. He forgot about this incident which made Xufeng aware of his feelings for Jinmi.

Jinmi came with Liu Ying carrying Xufeng. They leaned Xufeng against the tree. Jinmi entered with Lao Hu inside with Liu Ying. It didn't take long, Liu Ying was kicked out of the Flora Realm.

It's been a few days and tomorrow is the last day for Xufeng. Tomorrow as soon as Jinmi comes, Runyu must come back. "Jinmi only said she would definitely get the night rattan. But she didn't say how to take it out. Do you think she can make it?" Liu Ying asked. "Jinmi is from Flora Realm. She is so smart. She must have her way." Runyu said calmly. 'Xufeng and Jinmi are the main characters and it's not even the climax yet. They will be fine.' Runyu thought.

Liu Ying checked on Xufeng's condition. "Why is his body temperature decreasing so quickly?" Liu Ying asked worriedly. Runyu went to check on Xufeng. "His magical prowess is vanishing. Please shield me." Runyu said calmly. Liu Ying made a shield to protect them. Runyu transferred his magical prowess. "Ice and Fire are of a different nature. I can't transfer my magical prowess to him. Therefore, I use part of my magical prowess to heat up the aquatic magical prowess. And transfer the evaporated energy to Xufeng's body." Said Runyu.

"Going against the nature will do you massive harm. If your mind wanders, it will take you over and backfire on you." Liu Ying said worriedly. "It's so urgent. Xufeng's life is more critical. I can't care so much." Runyu said concentrating. "Fire Immortal will be fine. He will be fine." Liu Ying said starting to calm herself down.

Morning came and from far away Runyu could see that Jinmi was coming this way. "Princess of Biancheng, I have an errand to do. So please take care of Xufeng, Jinmi will arrive in a moment." Runyu said goodbye. Liu Ying nodded. Runyu left from there. "I'm coming." Jimin said. Liu Ying looked pleased. 'Night Immortal is so great. He knows, Jinmi will arrive soon.' thought Liu Ying. The process of saving Xufeng started without Runyu.

Note: Flashback of drama Ashes of Love ends in this chapter. The next chapter contains all my ideas. It has nothing to do with drama anymore. I only borrowed the names of characters and places. Ashes of Love belongs to novelists, playwrights and directors as well as production parties. I am just a small writer who wants to change Runyu's tragic story.
