Qingyuan woke up and was shocked by his aching body. 'Why does my body hurt so much?' Qingyuan thought annoyed and got up. Qingyuan got up from the bed and fell silent. 'Why is this atmosphere like I've seen it before? As I recall, I watched the drama Ashes of Love for the fifth time.' Qingyuan thought.

Qingyuan was shocked. "This is Xuan Ji Palace." Qingyuan said in shock and rolled up his sleeves. "It means that Xu Feng is already in the flora realm." Qingyuan grumbled a sigh. "Now you are Runyu. You are Runyu so we will change your bad future." Qingyuan said encouraging himself.

Even though this is crazy but he is in the drama so he doesn't want to fight with the main character so he will change everything before everything starts. His first mission is to stay away from Jinmi and cancel his engagement. The second mission distanced himself from Xufeng and the Heavenly Empress also saved the citizens of Dongting Lake. His last mission, to go to the human realm and live there away from Jinmi and Xufeng.

Qingyuan or what we can call Runyu now, carries out his duties as usual and trains hard so that his magical prowess increases. Today he was tasked with bringing thousands of soldiers against the army from the Demon Realms. Suddenly he was summoned to appear before the Heavenly Emperor.

Runyu arrived there and paid his respects to the Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress. 'Must be the accusation again. Irritating. I have to finish it.' thought Runyu. "Runyu pays respect to Father and Mother." Said Runyu. "Somebody,  come take him down." Said Heavenly Emperor. "What did Runyu do? Please Father clarify for me." Said Runyu calm enough.

Heavenly Emperor show ice sleet. "Look what you did? A hundred thousand of soldier,  how dare to hand them to a disloyal,  disobeyant, unjust and sinful person?!" Said heavenly emperor angrily. "This ice doesn't belong to me." Said Runyu.

'Unlucky! The pain is coming again.' Runyu thought indignantly but still tried to hear what the Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress were saying and answered as necessary from memory. Until Xufeng came, Runyu didn't really hear what they were talking about anymore and just stood there enduring the pain that almost killed him. As soon as they were allowed to leave, Runyu immediately returned to Xuan Ji palace and meditated.

It didn't take long for Xufeng to go to Runyu and help Runyu take out the flame poison. After they finished they chatted casually. "I can only help you to get rid of the flame poison in your body. You might experience pain for these few days. Our psysiques contradict each other. If i forcefully heal you, you'll bear worse injury." Said Xufeng. "Fire and water have never gotten along. Please save your magical prowess for something else. I'm afraid that i can't handle more." Said Runyu. "You know that fire and water don't get along,  then why did you still come to my rescue?" Asked Xufeng.

"You'd do the same too,  right? Liao Yuan has just cleared the ice poison in your body. And now you're here to help me. Mother will blame me if she gets to know about this." Said Runyu. "This is to thank you for saving my life." Said Xufeng smiled. "Xufeng, everyone suspected me. Don't you have doubts?" Asked runyu. "Of course i do. You can't run away if anything happened to me. I rushed to your rescue without even changing into my clean clothes." Said Xufeng jokingly.

"I thank you for that." Said Runyu smile in the end. "You are powerful. But still you're ..." Xufeng stopped his words because Runyu didn't seem to be focused on the conversation. "Are you waiting for someone?" Xufeng asked suddenly. Runyu didn't answer as if focusing on other things. Xufeng touched Runyu's hand holding the teacup.

Runyu looked at Xufeng confused. "Are you waiting for someone?" Xufeng asked again. "Nothing. Why do you ask that?" Runyu asked smiling. Xufeng stood up. "I think we'll talk later. You rest first." Xufeng said before leaving. Runyu closed his door and raised the Xuan Ji Palace's barrier before leaving. With this no one knows he left.

---Dongting Lake---

Runyu went inside easily. Runyu stared at the person in red clothes silence before calling out to her. "Mother." Call runyu. The woman looks shocked. That woman is Su Li, Runyu's biological mother.

"I just came to say you'd better stop that plan. I know your plan and I can tell that your plan will be disaster on everyone. So stop all this, revenge won't bring grandfather back to you." Runyu said flatly. "You left me and now you've come to advise me!" Su Li said angrily. "Then are you planning to make all the citizens of Dongting Lake fall victim to your revenge?!" Runyu said angrily.

Su Li fell silent. “Stop this! I…” Runyu was cut off. "You can become the Lord of Dongting Lake in my place and Dongting Lake will be safe. But I will not stop this revenge." Su Li said stubbornly. "Mother, am I living with you not enough for you?" Runyu asked. Runyu did have the intention of living peacefully with his mother in the human realm.

A little boy is back. "Mother, do you have guests?" asked the little boy. “Li er, come inside.” SuLi said. The little boy called Li er looked obedient. "The decision is in your hands." SuLi said. "I'll think about it." Runyu said then said goodbye.

---Celestial Realm---

°Xuanji Palace°

Runyu fell silent as he thought about the offer. 'If she stops now, maybe her life will be saved but she is stubborn. I'm not sure anyway, the Heavenly Empress will just let Su Li go.' Runyu thought deeply. Even when Xufeng came, Runyu was unconscious about that.

"What do you think?" Xufeng asked, patting Runyu on the shoulder. Runyu looked at Xufeng. "Nothing, do you need anything?" Runyu asked calmly. "I can't visit you?" Xufeng asked disdainfully. "You're very busy with your work. So I thought you came for work? Plus you still haven't found the culprit." Runyu said smiling.

Xufeng frowned. "I just came to chat." Xufeng said. The two of them chatted for a while before both of them went about their respective activities. Runyu remembered that tonight if he went to the lake then he would meet Jinmi so he decided not to go to the lake. The further away the better. Even Runyu managed to avoid Danzhu, the Fox Immortal who was also his and Xufeng's uncle.

The activity of avoiding each other is quite tiring but fun. Runyu will change as much as he can. After all, he is not interested in romance. He just wanted to live in peace until the end. He wouldn't be stupid like Runyu, chasing women who didn't love him.

Kuang Lu still came to work at Xuanji Palace. The qiong qi that invaded the Celestial Realm also occurred and Runyu did not go there. It was Xufeng who saved Jinmi. Xufeng was also sent to the Demon Realm as a result of that incident. This time Runyu left but avoided Xufeng and Jinmi by wearing a robe that covered his body and also a mask over his face. Runyu was still paying for Jinmi's groceries without Xufeng noticing.

Xufeng would only think that people passed by and so would Jinmi. The reason Runyu came to the Demon Realm was not because of Qiongqi but to catch someone. Someone who had been spying on him for years. He will stop this, now and forever.

"You can come out now?" Runyu said calmly. "Mu Ci isn't it?" Add Runyu. Mu Ci rushed out right then and there. "You know you're being followed." Mu Ci said trying to calm down. Runyu grinned. "I don't care how long you play hide and seek. I thought that at first but now I'm getting bored. I have no interest in the Crown Prince's position. Xufeng can have it but interfering with my freedom is really annoying. If you don't want to die then get out of my way." Runyu said ruthlessly.

Mu Ci fell silent. "I can't do it but I won't report all the details. That's all." Mu Ci said. Runyu nodded in agreement before going to sleep. While Mu Ci was off guard, Runyu went to Dongting Lake. But there was no one so Runyu wrote in a paper that he agreed with Su Li's proposal before Runyu returned.

Runyu returned to the Celestial Realm. Just as he was back and doing his duty when he was about to go rest Kuang Lu said that Xufeng was injured in the Demon Realm. Runyu brought Immortal Qi Huang with him to the Demon Realm.

Runyu was straight to the point shocked King of Biancheng and Liu Ying, Princess of Biancheng. "How's Xufeng? I've asked Immortal Qi Huang here to give him treatment." Runyu asked. "It doesn't matter if it's inner injury. But Fire Immortal was hurt by Qiongqi's plaque needles." Said Liu Ying.

"Plaque needles? It's the deadliest poison in the world." Said Kuang Lu. Immortal Qi Huang examines Xufeng. "The poison is under his skin. A day later, it will enter his blood vessels. The next day...." Said Immortal Qi Huang but Runyu didn't hear it. "Your Highness?" Call Kuang Lu worried. Runyu looked at Kuang Lu.

"I was thinking. If I'm not mistaken there's something called a night rattan that can save Xufeng. I'm going to Flora Realms." Runyu said leaving before it could be stopped by the others. Runyu got there first and was silent. 'I can not enter.' Runyu thought.

"I can't be late." Runyu muttered restlessly. He asked Immortal Water as well as Heavenly Emperor to meet. He intended to cancel the engagement and Runyu was forget at the thought that Xufeng would be hurt. He forgot about this incident which made Xufeng aware of his feelings for Jinmi.

Jinmi came with Liu Ying carrying Xufeng. They leaned Xufeng against the tree. Jinmi entered with Lao Hu inside with Liu Ying. It didn't take long, Liu Ying was kicked out of the Flora Realm.

It's been a few days and tomorrow is the last day for Xufeng. Tomorrow as soon as Jinmi comes, Runyu must come back. "Jinmi only said she would definitely get the night rattan. But she didn't say how to take it out. Do you think she can make it?" Liu Ying asked. "Jinmi is from Flora Realm. She is so smart. She must have her way." Runyu said calmly. 'Xufeng and Jinmi are the main characters and it's not even the climax yet. They will be fine.' Runyu thought.

Liu Ying checked on Xufeng's condition. "Why is his body temperature decreasing so quickly?" Liu Ying asked worriedly. Runyu went to check on Xufeng. "His magical prowess is vanishing. Please shield me." Runyu said calmly. Liu Ying made a shield to protect them. Runyu transferred his magical prowess. "Ice and Fire are of a different nature. I can't transfer my magical prowess to him. Therefore, I use part of my magical prowess to heat up the aquatic magical prowess. And transfer the evaporated energy to Xufeng's body." Said Runyu.

"Going against the nature will do you massive harm. If your mind wanders, it will take you over and backfire on you." Liu Ying said worriedly. "It's so urgent. Xufeng's life is more critical. I can't care so much." Runyu said concentrating. "Fire Immortal will be fine. He will be fine." Liu Ying said starting to calm herself down.

Morning came and from far away Runyu could see that Jinmi was coming this way. "Princess of Biancheng, I have an errand to do. So please take care of Xufeng, Jinmi will arrive in a moment." Runyu said goodbye. Liu Ying nodded. Runyu left from there. "I'm coming." Jimin said. Liu Ying looked pleased. 'Night Immortal is so great. He knows, Jinmi will arrive soon.' thought Liu Ying. The process of saving Xufeng started without Runyu.

Note: Flashback of drama Ashes of Love ends in this chapter. The next chapter contains all my ideas. It has nothing to do with drama anymore. I only borrowed the names of characters and places. Ashes of Love belongs to novelists, playwrights and directors as well as production parties. I am just a small writer who wants to change Runyu's tragic story.

Runyu had already returned to the Celestial Realm. Luo Lin and Heavenly Emperor were already waiting there. "Runyu pays respect to Heavenly Emperor and Water Immortal." Said Runyu. "Why did you ask to see us today?" asked the Heavenly Emperor. "Father, I want to cancel my engagement with the daughter of the Water Immortal." Runyu replied firmly.

"Do you know what you just said!" said the Heavenly Emperor furiously. "I understand and I am ready to take the risk." Runyu said firmly. "Even if you lose half your magical prowess and your position as a Night Immortal is revoked!" The Heavenly Emperor said angrily. "Yes, I am ready." Runyu said firmly. Luo Lin looked at Runyu with renewed eyes.

"Fine. Don't be sorry." Heavenly Emperor said. At that moment, the engagement was called off. Runyu's position as Night Immortal was revoked and Runyu lost half of his magical prowess. Runyu was grateful that he practiced a lot after arriving here. Runyu was held under house arrest by the Heavenly Emperor.

Runyu spends his time meditating and practicing. His position as a Night Immortal has also been revoked so he doesn't need to work. After a month had passed, Runyu's house arrest stopped. Runyu was able to go out and hear a lot of rumors about Xufeng, Jinmi and Yanyou. Runyu just smiled.

Runyu finally fell asleep in the lake while his feet were soaking in the lake accompanied by Yansou (beast of dream). When Runyu woke up, found a cloak covering Runyu. 'Xufeng.' Runyu thought. Runyu got up. Today was his last day in the Celestial Realm. He was banished from the Celestial Realm.

Runyu was about to head to Qi Wu palace by chance that he met Liao Yuan. "Please give this to the Second Prince. I'm leaving now." Runyu said smiling before leaving. Liao Yun paused before continuing on his way. Runyu descended to Dongting Lake.

Su Li immediately picked up

Runyu became Lord of Dongting Lake. Su Li introduced the little boy to Runyu. The little kid was called Li er. Su Li asked Runyu to take care of Li er. "Okay." Runyu said casually. These few quiet days, Su Li helped Runyu recover Runyu's magical prowess.

Yanyou came just then with news. "Introduce, he is Yanyou my other foster son." Su Li explained. Runyu nodded without saying anything further. "Fire Immortal has been outside for a few days. I even had trouble coming." Yanyou said looking at Runyu.

"I see what you mean. I will see him." Runyu said looking at Yanyou flatly. "Mother, I'll be right back. I still want you to stay with me there." Runyu added looking at Su Li. Runyu left from there. "Does he intend to take you somewhere else?" Yanyou asked confused. "He has a house in Human Realm mainland. He asked me to live there with him and Li er too." Su Li explained. Yanyou smiled hearing that. His adoptive mother was always happy when she talked about Runyu.

@the edge of Dong Ting Lake

Runyu looked at Xufeng who was waiting for him. Xufeng pulled Runyu's hand along with him. Runyu let go of Xufeng's hand as they were almost away from Dong Ting Lake.

"Xufeng, why did you come here?" Qingyuan asked coldly. "I will take you home." Xufeng said annoyed. "This is my home. In case you forgot, I've been banished from the Celestial Realm." Said Runyu with cold attitudes. "I will..." Xufeng was cut off. "I don't need your help. Then I hope you and Jinmi are always happy." Runyu said flatly.

"You know? Jinmi is the eldest daughter of the Water Immortal." Xufeng said probing Runyu's expression. But Runyu showed no emotion other than flat and cold. "I know." Runyu said calmly. "The culprit has been caught, he is Rat Immortal." Xufeng added. "Then?" Runyu asked lazily. "You know and you keep quiet. Your mother is in this lake isn't she?" Xufeng said angrily.

Runyu's expression turned wary. Xufeng was shocked to see him. "Does anyone know?" Runyu asked looking at Xufeng stabbing as if he was about to kill. "There isn't any." Xufeng said confusedly. "Lord Yu, is that your friend?" Asked a resident of Dong Ting Lake who came out. "He's lost." Runyu said smiling looking at the citizen. Xufeng paused as he saw Runyu's expression turning gentle. Runyu, who used to be gentle, was only shown to other people, not to himself.

"I go first." The resident said. Runyu just smiled before his focus returned to Xufeng. "Come back to your place. Don't bother me again." Runyu said flatly.

"You've changed a lot." Xufeng said looking at Runyu as if he didn't know him. "Xufeng, everyone changes. I have no intention of living in the shadows of you or your parents. I want to live alone with my own family. Our paths differ, we part ways here. You don't need to look for me anymore. Even if you come here every day. You will not find me here." Runyu said coldly. "I will return now but I will not give up. I will look for you." Xufeng said before leaving.

Runyu was walking back to Dong Ting Lake when Yanyou came out. "Are you sure you just let it be?" Yanyou asked. "Then what do you want me to do?" Runyu asked flatly. "The rumors about you seem different." Yanyou added. "I changed and everyone is the same." Runyu said staring far away. "I just want to live quietly with my mother and Li er. You are also in the category now." Runyu said calmly. Yanyou smiled.

After Runyu's magical prowess recovered, Su Li told Runyu to go first with Li er. Runyu complied and ever since they had lived in the Human Realm, every day Yanyou brought lots of books for Runyu to check. "Have mother never taken care of this?" Runyu asked Yanyou one day. Yanyou shook his head. Runyu was busy with his new business now.

Continuing to work made Runyu seem to forget the time and after finally his mountain of work was finished. Runyu rested in his large pool. The pond is crystal clear with a small waterfall near the pond. Runyu let his dragon tail out while resting. Yansou also slept there. Li er was already asleep in the house. Yanyou accompanies his mother Su Li at Dong Ting Lake.

"Excuse me." Someone's words made Runyu open his eyes and looked surprised by the guest in front of him.

Runyu looked at Xufeng in shock. "Excuse me, is this the physician's house?" Xufeng asked. "Right." Runyu said raising his feet from the lake. "Your tail is very beautiful." Xufeng said suddenly. Runyu cleared his throat and immediately took the box containing his physician's tools. "Are you hurt?" Runyu asked reducing the awkwardness. 'It seems that Xufeng came to the human realm. Calm yourself.' Runyu thought. "My soldiers are injured." Xufeng said. "Take me to them." Runyu said.

Xufeng brought Runyu to where his army was injured. "How to call you?" Xufeng asked. "You can call me physician Zhang." Runyu said calmly. Upon arrival, Runyu treated the injured soldiers carefully and carefully. After he finished, Runyu looked at Xufeng. "Take off your clothes." Runyu said flatly.

Xufeng stared at Runyu in shock. "You are injured in your stomach. If not treated it will rot." Runyu said flatly. Xufeng complied. Runyu treated Xufeng carefully. 'In the human realm or the Celestial Realm it's still the same as bringing soldiers.' Runyu thought as he bandaged the wound. "Done." Runyu said backwards.

“Qin Tong” Xufeng called. "You don't have to pay me. Let's just say we're meant to be meet so I'll help you." Runyu said before leaving. Xufeng and Qin Tong stared at each other. The next day, Xufeng and Qin Tong returned to Runyu's house and found nothing but a forest without a house.

Of course Runyu put up a stronger barrier to avoid being detected by Xufeng. 'He went for the hardship and built a deeper relationship with Jinmi but still managed to get in my way. Bother!' Runyu thought annoyed.

A few days later when Runyu came out, many residents around Runyu's residence asked why Runyu had not come out for several days. "Physician Zhang, there was someone looking for you but we said maybe you were busy so didn't come." Obviously a citizen. Ruyu smiled. In the Human Realm, Runyu used his real name, Zhang Qingyuan.

Runyu checked on a few patients before returning to his routine. Runyu was sure Xufeng would be more busy with Jinmi now and wouldn't have time to bother him anymore. Runyu was busy practicing when a green signal was sent from the direction of Dong Ting lake. Runyu immediately went there and found his mother lying there and Luo Lin being alert.

"Mother." Runyu said approaching Su Li. "Thank goodness you're okay." Su Li said before his body turned into red light and spread out. "Mother." Heartbreaking screams were heard. The injured Yanyou and Luo Lin looked at Runyu sadly.

Runyu mourns and does not receive visitors. Kuang Lu brought news that Yanyou was being held captive by the Heavenly Empress. 'There are things that never change.' Runyu thought coldly and went to the Celestial Realm. Arriving there, Runyu stared at the Heavenly Empress with murderous eyes. Runyu managed to let go of Yanyou and made Yanyou stand behind him.

The Heavenly Empress was quite surprised that Runyu's magical prowess had increased a lot since the last time they met. "He is a resident of Dong Ting Lake. The Su Li that you killed, has nothing to do with Dong Ting Lake, he is just a person living there. If you dare to touch Dong Ting Lake, you know the consequences, Mother." Runyu said coldly.

Ice sleet was right in front of the Heavenly Empress' heart. No one noticed this and left everyone in shock. "I'm done with my part. Goodbye, Mother." Runyu said goodbye. “You…” The Heavenly Empress' angry words interrupted Runyu.

"The current me, unattached to the Celestial Realm. I can do whatever I want without fear of you. I didn't disturb you so don't bother me, Mother. This is a final warning if you don't want to end up tragically like Su Li." Runyu said bringing Yanyou along with him.

Returning to the human realm, Yanyou handed a memory pearl to Runyu. Runyu saved without looking at it at all. Li er took Yanyou to go rest. Runyu crushed the memory pearl. Runyu returned to the routine of let's work, practice and sleep.

Several years passed and the news of the Saint Girl dying rang all around. "Jinmi is back." Runyu muttered and got to work. Everything was going on as usual but an uproar broke out in the Celestial Realm. Runyu didn't really care. Runyu knew because the gossiper Yanyou always came home with stories.

After a long time of work, Runyu rested and fell asleep beside the big pond. Runyu was exhausted because he had not rested for several months. An epidemic occurred in the human realm so Runyu had to help the humans. Someone sat beside Runyu and looked at his tail smiling. That person stroked Runyu's tail making Runyu squirm uncomfortably.

"Stop it, Yanyou. I'm uncomfortable." Runyu grumbled in his sleep. "I'm not Yanyou." Xufeng said annoyed and rubbed Runyu's scales roughly. Runyu's eyes opened in surprise. Runyu held Xufeng's hand that was about to rub his scales again.

"How did you find this place?" Runyu asked in surprise. "Brother, it's really unfair for you to let Yanyou be near you even though he doesn't have the same blood as you. Meanwhile, I, who has the same blood as you, was kicked out just like that." Xufeng said holding back his emotions. 'Yanyou, that bastard.' Runyu thought annoyed.

Runyu's hands were held above his head. Runyu backed away and himself hit the rock behind him. 'Damn it!' Runyu thought irritably. 'I heard that the tail of a dragon is very sensitive. Did you let Yanyou touch it?” Xufeng asked annoyed. “Let me go and scram!” Runyu said angrily.

Xufeng grinned and gently stroked the scales of Runyu's tail. Runyu's face turned red. Runyu bit his lower lip in annoyance. The dragon's tail is very sensitive for the Dragon. 'I will skin Yanyou and throw him into the Wang Chuan River.' Runyu thought angrily. Xufeng backed away suddenly causing Runyu hand's grip to slip.

When Runyu felt he had a chance to escape. Xufeng suddenly hugged Runyu. "I'm sorry about your mother." Xufeng said suddenly. Runyu's body stiffened. Runyu had not even had time to pull his feet out of the pool. Runyu returned the warm hug.
