Rhoda
Right, ofcourse. I'll leave you to it.

With a quick nod, Rhoda turns and walks back up the path.
Even from a distance, I can see the tips of her ears are red.
Francesca
Alright. The first thing you can do for me is sweep away all the leaves along the worshipper's path.
I reach out to take the bamboo broom she offers me but she doesn't let go immediately.
Francesca
We want to keep it tidy, just in case someone comes to visit.
Francesca shakes her head lightly, and then let's go of the broom to hand me a rag.
Francesca
Once you're done with that, use this to wipe down the porch around the Altar.
Ruth
(The wooden porches that run around the building, right.)
Francesca gives me a satisfied nod and waves me along.
I make my way slowly down the worshipper's path, clearing it as best as I can.
Light streams through the trees, turning the leaves golden.
Ruth
(It's so still...We are not far from the road, but I can't hear anything...)
I've been at it for about half an hour, when there's a rustling in the bushes.
I glance up to find Rhoda watching me.
Rhoda
Already hard at work?
Ruth
Francesca asked me to clear the path.
Rhoda
*grins and walks over*
Rhoda
How about taking a break?
Rhoda
If you like, I could show you around the shrine.
I can't help, but smile at her eagerness.
Ruth
(It would be nice to know my way around... and I wouldn't mind spending more time with Rhoda.)
Ruth
(She's the first real friend I've made in this whole town!)
I lean my broom against a tree.
Ruth
Actually, I'd love that!
Rhoda gives me a lopsided grin, that has my heart racing.
She leads us back up the path, towards the Altar precinct.
