Francesca turns to me with a kind smile.

Welcome, dear! It'll be so nice to have some company.

I give her a deep bow.

Ruth

It's a pleasure to meet you, Francesca.

Ruth

Um... I don't know much about being an altar maiden, but I'll do my best.

Francesca

I know you will.

She crosses her arms and looks me over.

Francesca

I suppose, we should find you a modest church dress, and put you to work, hmm?

Francesca

The dress may be a little dusty, but the fit should be fine.

Ruth

(Robe...Dress..the full garments of an altar maiden!)

Ruth

(This is really happening!)

Francesca

Come inside and I will get you set up.

Inside, I find myself in a surprisingly spacious room partitioned out by a number of traditional wooden French doors.

(This altar's way bigger than I thought.)

Francesca starts digging through a box for a set of spare clothes.

A few minutes later, I emerge, dressed in the full getup of a real altar maiden.

Ruth

Rhoda turns around and her mouth drops open.

Rhoda

Wow.

I feel myself blush as she looks me over.

Rhoda

Well, you look... different.

Rhoda

Good different!

Rhoda

Not that you looked bad before-

She breaks off with a laugh, touching her neck a bit.

Francesca makes a shooing motion at her.

Francesca

Come on now, she's got work to do, Rhoda.

Rhoda

Right, ofcourse, I'll leave you to it!
