Nicole: Are you kidding me, Mr. Brayan? Do you think I'm a joke?
I speak without thinking, fueled by the anger from what I just heard!
Brayan: Look, I didn't mean to be rude, but I'm waiting for someone to interview for the driver position. So tell me right now what you're doing in my office.
I look into the eyes of this brazen woman sitting right in front of me, seemingly scoffing.
Nicole: Well then, nice to meet you, Mr. Brayan. My name is Nicole, and I've come for the interview. Here is my resume!
Mario told me that Brayan was difficult, but he's more like a chauvinist. He keeps staring at me with a furrowed brow, and my heart almost leaps out of my chest. What a handsome man.
Brayan: If this isn't a prank, I don't know what to tell you. Please, give me a minute.
I storm out of my office, fuming. It's impossible that Mario has lost his mind.
Mario, what is the meaning of that woman, who looks like a model, sitting in my office?
Mario: Mr. Brayan, I told you to keep an open mind. I've known Nicole for a few years, and she's an excellent driver. Have you looked at her resume? Besides being a great driver, she knows the city, is available to live here, is extremely discreet, and trustworthy. On top of all that, she can handle herself; she boxes and has taken self-defense classes. Give the girl a chance, Mr. Brayan.
I don't even waste time responding; this morning couldn't get any worse. I leave to check the cameras and see what Nicole is doing in my office. Trustworthy, huh?! That's what I'd like to see.
I look and can't believe what I'm seeing. Insolent woman!
Nicole: Jerk, chauvinistic pig, who does he think he is to assume I'm a joke? Imbecile, it must be his massive ego talking.
I pace back and forth, indignant at the situation. I just want to punch something. I make do with kicking the air and cursing that idiot Brayan.
Brayan: I walk straight back into the office, and Nicole jumps. She folds her arms and stares at me with pure hatred.
Nicole: If you won't even look at my resume because I'm a woman, you're nothing but an idiotic chauvinist!
I speak without thinking and watch Brayan's expression change.
Brayan: You do know who I am, right? Imagine this scene: I'm going to work, arriving with a potential business partner. He sees you getting out and opening the door for me to get out, you, a woman, smaller than me, who looks like she belongs on the cover of a magazine! Think about it for a second, and you'll see it doesn't make sense. Besides, the most important factor is that my work, my fortune, makes me a target, which is why I have a driver and security. So, again, do you see yourself in this job?
Nicole: There's no place or job where I don't fit in. I have experience, and I'm competent. If your future associates find it amusing, they're as idiotic and close-minded as you are. You know what? Let's not waste any more time. Thank you for your time.
I brush past Brayan like a hurricane and leave the mansion without looking back. Mario tries to talk to me, but my anger prevents me from engaging in conversation. I head straight to the gym to train and release my frustration.
Brayan: This woman doesn't understand the meaning of boundaries and clearly has no idea who she was talking to. I'm stuck here, thinking about what she said. Was I really being chauvinistic, judging her solely based on her being a woman? Me, the one who never stood for anyone disrespecting my mother when she became president of our association? I don't even know why I'm thinking about her. I quickly leave my office, which is now filled with her scent, a delightful floral aroma, different from Katherine's, which is sweet and nauseating.
Good morning, Conceiçao. Please have my office cleaned right away.
I pass by Conceiçao and kiss her on the forehead before heading to the company with Mario. It seems he'll be staying for the day.
(This is Conceiçao, 50 years old. Brayan's housekeeper. She took care of him as a child and has always been a presence in his life while his parents were busy working and traveling.)
Conceiçao: Of course, my boy. Good morning.
Mario: Straight to the company, Mr. Brayan?
I can tell the interview didn't go well. Nicole left without even responding to me, and Brayan is very agitated.
Brayan: Yes. Mario, thank you for the recommendation, but as I explained to Nicole, the job doesn't fit her profile. Let's not speak of this again.
Mario: Yes, sir.
We don't speak another word during the entire journey. Brayan really didn't like Nicole.
Brayan: I arrive at the company and head straight to my office. My day has gotten off to a terrible start!
Cassio: Good morning, my friend. We have matters to attend to.
Brayan: Can't you knock?!
Cassio: Grumpy so early, my friend? Courtesy of Katherine?
Brayan: You don't like her either, do you? It was worse than that. You wouldn't believe me if I told you.
Cassio: Try me. I have time, and it's always entertaining to hear about what's bothering you before 8:00 am.
I speak and sit down facing Brayan.
Brayan: I tell him all about what Mario put me through this morning, and Cassio's reaction only makes me angrier.
Cassio: I'm sorry, but I can't. kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk (laughter)
Brayan: If you're just going to laugh uncontrollably, you better leave, Cassio.
Cassio: Okay, okay, I'll stop. kkkkkkkk Seriously, I'm done. Do you have any pictures of her? Tell me you do, please!
Brayan: I have the security footage from the mansion. Here, see for yourself if it wouldn't be a complete joke!
Cassio: I'd be falling in love if I were you. She's gorgeous, Brayan. I'd take her as my driver, if only for one night, if you know what I mean.
Brayan: Never. I would never get involved with an employee. And she's not even that pretty.
Cassio: Don't play coy with me. I understand, and she's stunning! Now tell me, what did Katherine do this time?
Katherine: Talking about me, darling? Good morning, my love.
Brayan: Did anyone even bother to knock? I told you I hate it when you call me that, Katherine.
Cassio: Speak of the devil. I'm out of here, Brayan. I'll be back later with the contracts.
Katherine: See how he treats me, honey? Cassio hates me, and I've never done anything to him.
Brayan: Just tell me what you want, Katherine. I don't have time for this.
Katherine: Don't talk to me like that, love.
I say in a whiny voice as I settle onto Brayan's lap.
I came to celebrate our anniversary. Aren't you happy to see me?
I place Brayan's hand between my legs, letting him know I'm not wearing any underwear, and I see his expression soften. I initiate a slow, passionate kiss, one that quickly turns him needy and urgent. His hand continues to move along my intimacy, and I let out a muffled moan, enough for Brayan to lift me onto his lap and sit me on the table. He pulls my dress off and caresses my breasts, his kisses trailing down until they find my core. He has me ready to receive him, and we make love right there.
Brayan: You're incredible, Katherine.
Katherine manages to be both insufferable and irresistible. Whenever I'm about to end things with her, she seems to know. She shows up and knows exactly how to shift my focus.
Katherine: You're the amazing one, my love. And speaking of which, happy two years! We have a photoshoot later today, so don't be late. They're featuring our anniversary as this week's highlight. Don't worry, I already gave the interview yesterday; you just need to show up for the photos. I've already put it in your schedule, darling, and even picked out your outfit.
I don't give Brayan a chance to respond, talking nonstop as I get dressed. Once I'm done, I give him a quick kiss and rush out of his office.
Brayan: And just when I think my day couldn't get any worse! This photoshoot is the last thing I need. Katherine knows I despise these publicity stunts that have nothing to do with my work. The day drags on, and for some reason, I can't stop thinking about Nicole and the way she stood up to me.
