Episode 4

Jaehyun sat huddled against the wall, his head between his hands. If not for his bruised arms, Minseok wouldn't have recognised him. Minseok carefully approached him.

”Jaehyun? What are you doing here?” Minseok asked from a distance.

Seeing that Jaehyun’s body had gone pale, Minseok kneeled down in front of him and extended his right hand to touch him.

When the tip of his finger touched Jaehyun’s arm, Jaehyun flinched and smacked his hand away. His face was paler than before and his eyes looked intense.

”Hey, It's alright! I'm Minseok. Don't be scared” He leaned forward, and looked at Jaehyun with a soft gaze. Jaehyun lifted his head and said, ”Go away”

His tone was harsh and cold. Jaehyun’s voice was usually very deep but listening to him speak now, he seemed like a different person. Minseok’s pride was hurt, for the first time in his life he was trying to help somebody and that person was coldly pushing him away? That's unacceptable. He wanted to leave immediately after throwing a few curses at Jaehyun but looking at the other person’s condition, he couldn't.

”You don't have to be rude!” he said, ”I was just passing by when I heard weird noises, so I came to...check”

Jaehyun’s condition was getting worse. His hands had started shaking and his expression looked like he was in a lot of pain. He suddenly pushed Minseok away, ”GET OUT!” He shouted, his voice hoarse and deep, nothing like a human.

Minseok was now genuinely scared of the person in front of him. He stood up and staggered back. What is happening? Who is this guy??

Jaehyun stood up, his breathing was louder and the wounds on his hands seemed to be healing pretty fast.

I-Is this a dream?!

Jaehyun originally was taller than Minseok but now he seemed to have grown a few more inches taller and his body looked bigger than before. The wounds on his hands were completely gone.

”Jaehyun w-what are you?” Minseok asked walking a few steps until his back hit the wall. Jaehyun closed in, Minseok was shocked to see his eyes shining green. It's a monster!!! HELP ME, SOMEBODY!! He wanted to scream but his voice wouldn't come out. What is happening?!? Am I going to die?!

Jaehyun stepped closer, his facial features more distinct, his eyes a brilliant green and sharper than before, fixed on Minseok.

Please don't kill me!! Minseok shut his eyes, the brave Minseok who went around bullying people, who had rose to this position by defeating fifty people and who just yesterday defeated the gang of Namsan high school, was now praying for his life. He knew he couldn't win against Jaehyun, hell! not even five people could bring him down! The strength and aura that he possessed could make one tremble just at sight. He didn't stand a chance against him, all he could do is accept his death.

Is this really the end for me?! B-But how can I just die?? I can't! I have to do something!

Before Minseok could come up with an idea to escape, he heard a loud thud.

Minseok slowly opened his eyes and saw Jaehyun on the floor, he had passed out for some reason. Minseok exhaled loudly, he could finally breathe. This is what you call pure luck! I escaped death!!

I'll just leave him here... That was what he thought, but he carried Jaehyun on his back all the way to the infirmary.

This guy sure is huge, if not for my daily workouts I wouldn't have been able to carry him.

The nurse was shocked and asked Minseok what had happened. Minseok thought for a while, I absolutely cannot tell her what happened!

”We were running around the field and he just passed out... I think dehydration? He's pretty... weak” Minseok couldn't believe what he had just said, WEAK?! HAHA, I WISH!

”Oh, Okay, he seems exhausted and out of strength...stay with him and when he wakes up, give him this medicine,” she said while handing Minseok a few tablets, ”I have some work to attend to otherwise I would've done it myself”

Minseok cursed in his head as he saw her walk out of the room, Does she want me dead?! She's leaving already? I can't stay here-

Jaehyun lay still on the bed, his features delicate unlike before when he was overflowing with power, you could sense his blood thirst and now he looked calm and innocent. Talk about a split personality, thought Minseok. He still couldn't believe what he had witnessed a few moments ago. Was it even real? He suddenly remembered how Jaehyun’s eyes had turned green.

I'll just check if his eyes are green...

He leaned forward and extended his hand.

”What are you doing?”

Jaehyun’s voice shocked Minseok to death, he immediately withdrew his hand and the two of them were left in an awkward position, staring at each other.

”You are too close.” Jaehyun said as he broke eye contact.

Minseok pulled himself back nervously, What was I doing? Should I run??

”I was j-just checking if you-you had a fever... That's right! Here, ” Minseok pulled out his hand holding the medicine, ”the nurse asked you to take these”

Jaehyun looked at the ceiling as he spoke, ”It’s alright, they don't work on me”

They don't...work?? Minseok replied with a simple ”Oh”

After what seemed like a year Minseok spoke, ”Then... I'll go back to class”

Minseok turned around to leave when he heard his name.

”Minseok”

”Yeah?”

”Did I hurt you?”

Minseok froze at his words, he doesn't remember??

Jaehyun had a blank expression as always, ”I am sorry if I did” he said as he struggled to sit up, he held his stomach in pain.

He apologized...even though he did nothing, but he scared me to death. Should I ask him about it? It looks like he barely knows anything.

”Let me help you” Minseok helped him stand up, ”Shouldn't you be resting? Your condition doesn't look too good”

”I'll be fine”
