Today had dawned a bit uneasy, and that worried me slightly, as the last time I felt this way, the pack was attacked, and my twin was wounded.
Let me introduce myself; I am Ramses Miron, and I have a twin brother named Rene Miron. We are 24 years old in human years and 130 in wolf years, and we are both the Alphas of the Moon Cold pack. I also have a sister named Romina, who is 19, and she is our adoration as well as our headache, as it was no secret that many of the warriors wanted to be with her. It’s not to brag, but we are far too beautiful for this world, and my sister works out a lot, making her the strongest female warrior in the entire pack. Our parents have been traveling since we took up the Alpha position, believing they needed some time for themselves. Neither of us has found our mates yet, but that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy our sexuality. However, they know it’s only casual sex—no titles or promises we won’t keep. Even though we're not expecting to meet our mates, we’re aware that we could find them at any moment, and we don’t want any complications from our heat, so it’s better to be safe than sorry.
My brother and I are tall, at 1.88 meters, with medium blonde hair, white skin, and green eyes. Our bodies are well toned but not overdone. My wolf is named Ramuel, and my brother's wolf is named Risto. I know, many Rs, but it was a coincidence—we like to believe so. According to my father's family tradition, all the names start with R out of respect for our ancestors or something like that. The truth is that no one has been able to break this crazy tradition, and I don’t think anyone ever will.
I get out of bed and take a quick shower. It’s 5 a.m., and we need to head out for training with all the warriors, but first, we must patrol to ensure everything is alright with the pack and its surroundings.
Upon leaving the mansion, I see that my brother is already with some female warriors who will be joining us on the patrol this time. Usually, it’s just the men, but we make an effort to include women so they don’t feel overlooked. I must say that my sister, along with two others, are the strongest warriors, defeating several male warriors in hand-to-hand combat. But this wasn’t always the case; previously, women only stayed at home, looked after the children, and served their husbands. Everything changed when my mother arrived; she refused to be just a devoted housewife and trained hard to prove that women can do the same work as men. This change gradually shifted the dynamics in the pack, which had been quite old-fashioned and narrow-minded. Now, everything is different; women are respected just as much as men, and same-sex couples are seen together and given equal respect—all thanks to my parents.
I walk up to my brother and place a hand on his shoulder to get his attention.
Ramses: I see you're not wasting time, brother!
Rene: What can I say? I'm irresistible.
I burst out laughing at my brother’s antics; it was no secret that Rene was the joker and prankster of the two of us, while I was more serious and seldom mingled with others in the pack. I was usually in my office reviewing pack documents or managing our businesses in the human world. After all, someone had to be responsible for keeping everything in order.
Once we are all gathered, we form four groups to patrol the entire perimeter of the pack, ensuring nothing is left uncovered. Just as we were about to leave, my sister joined us, and of course, she was with my group while Rene went with another. We all separated and transformed into wolves, patrolling the assigned perimeter.
We were almost finished checking the area when Rita, my sister's wolf, spoke to Ramuel, my wolf, through the link.
Rita: Ramuel, do you smell that?
Ramuel: Yes, it smells human, but the scent is very faint. She must be injured. But you know we can't intervene.
Rita: You can't, but I can. I'm going to see what's going on; I won't do anything unless it's necessary.
Without waiting for a response, I see my sister take off running, following the scent, and I have no choice but to follow her, not willing to let her go alone. I reach her side, joined by the others who had come with us. We move a few meters further when I spot a shape leaning against a tree; the smell is undoubtedly coming from there. I watch as my sister slips behind a tree and returns already in human form, dressed, since there were several baskets of clothing hanging from the trees around the pack for when we returned to our human selves.
Romina approaches cautiously, for where the shape is leaning is out of our territory, and there could be hunters, vampires, or Rogues nearby. So, we stay alert in case my sister needs to be helped. I see her kneel before the shape, bringing both hands to her mouth in surprise. I watch as she takes the girl’s wrist and checks her pulse. It doesn’t take long before we see my sister grasp the person by the shoulders, sliding her hands beneath the girl's armpits and dragging her toward me, as I still hadn’t stepped out of my territory.
Romina: We have to take her to the pack; she’s not well—her pulse is barely detectable, and if I’m not mistaken, she can’t be older than 16. I can’t leave her here. —I shake my head in denial since I was still in my wolf form— You don’t understand; I’m not asking for your permission. I’m an Alpha too, and I can help whoever I want. She needs us, and once she’s okay, we can figure out what to do next.
I knew my sister was just manipulating me; she had never used her Alpha power since, according to her, she didn’t like giving orders. So, I simply lay down, and my sister grins widely at having gotten her way. She places the girl on my back, and both Ramuel and I feel a surge of anxiety, though I wasn’t sure why. Once I had her secured, I rose carefully, making sure not to throw her off, and I noticed my sister position herself beside me, ensuring the girl wouldn't fall as we walked back to the pack.
