Ch 9

Next day when I got ready for school. Mom picked my bag and took her car's key.

"I'll drop him." Brother todd said while smoking without looking at her. I was standing beside her. She looked at me with concern.

"Don't worry mom, he takes good care of me!" I replied and smiled.

Mom looked relieved. She patted my head and nodded, "Alright then. Here, your bag." She said and gave me my bag. I took it from her and ran to brother todd. He walked out of the house and i followed him.

He was the whole reason why I was feeling a lot better.

Last night, he asked me science teacher's name.

"His name is Felix..." I replied and looked at him. I wanted to see his face. He looked at me and saw my tears. He wiped them off.

"Do you want me to kill him?" He asked me very casually. It caught me off guard.

"No!!!" I moved away from him. "What are you saying??!! Please don't kill-"

"I was kidding." he said and stood up. "I won't kill him. Don't worry. You should sleep now."

I took a breath of relief. "Thank god." I don't know why I believed when he asked me to kill him. I could've believed him, after all. He had personality of a killer anyway. I would blindly believe if someone told me he was a serial killer.

"But...I cannot sleep. I'm...I'm scared." I said as i held his shirt. "Please don't leave..."

He stared at me for a while. I thought i was annoying him. "What else was i expecting?" I thought to myself and took my hand off him. I sat quiet with my head down waiting for him to leave when he sat on the bed and lied with blanket covering him and me as well.

"What? Lay down." He said with that casual serious voice of him.

It surprised me. I nodded in happiness and laid down beside him. "T-thank you!" I said.

"You know what, sam. There will be a lot of people like that in your life. You must not be scared and tell me everything. Alright?" He said and looked at me.

I was looking at the ceiling above. I nodded, "Okay..." I felt like our relationship was improving day by day but i knew nothing about him. "Brother todd, I'm curious about you. Please tell me something about yourself." I looked at him.

He looked away, "What do you want to know? There's nothing interesting." He smiled. It shocked me. I didn't think he could smile too.

"You can smile too!" I said excitedly.

"Of course i can." He returned. His smile was the rarest thing for me till date. It made me happy. "I think i should leave and take care of Mr. Felix." He said and got up.

I was scared and shocked. I immediately pulled his shirt, "Don't kill him!!" I was so worried.

He gently took my hand off, "Don't worry. I'm not going to kill him. I'll just make sure he never appears again." His face still had no expression and his voice sounded so casual as if he meant it.

At first, i didn't believe him. I thought he was probably joking again. But when i went to school next day. I found out that a new teacher had come and Felix sir had quit the job.

"What exactly did brother todd do?" Shocked and happy me wondered.
