He hooked his lips. "Why now, don't you want me to accompany you to dinner?"

I used to look at him with a serious face, always looking like he refused people thousands of miles away, and thought he was difficult to do. Without thinking, he is just like other men, but he is just a vulgar thing.

"We're going to be late."

"So what?"

Cheney's POV

This woman is beautiful, brave, and resourceful. For the first time, I felt that it was fun to compete with smart women.

Krista's POV

"Hello, Uncle."

Kingston saw me and was surprised. "Krista? Why are you here?"

"Uncle Kingston, I asked Lockie for an invitation without telling you. I was rashly disturbed. I hope you don't mind."

"Why," Kingston said, stepping forward and tapping me on the shoulder then continued talking. "I just want to meet you these days."

Seeing that he turned his attention to Cheney, I quickly introduced them. They shook hands and talked a few words.

I bit my lip and said, "Uncle, can I... talk to you alone?"

Kingston nodded. "Go and sit in the lounge with me."

I turned to look at Cheney and walked into the lounge with Kingston. After sitting down, I took a deep breath and said, "Uncle Kingston, there's something I want to ask you."

Kingston sighed and said to me, "Krista, today, when I saw you bring Cheney, I knew what you wanted to do. Zaniyah raised her eyebrows proudly. "You haven't said, why are you here? Maybe, I heard that your boyfriend Matt will come here today, so you followed him?"

I sipped my lips and smiled. "Sister, is my memory bad, or do you have a bad memory? Four years ago, when Matt was in contact with me, he cheated on you and gave up on me?"

Zaniyah disdained to smile, "Krista, this can't be said nonsense. Matt did chase me when he was with you, but I'm not the kind of woman who would rob a sister's boyfriend. I told him early in the morning that it's impossible for me and him. Besides, Matt is not my type at all. The person I like is the person in front of me." She said, taking Cheney's arm conveniently.

I looked at Zaniyah, and she wanted to beat up because her past relationship was groundless? Zaniyah is a real thief, but it doesn't hurt.

"I see. Four years ago, Matt, in order to save me, proved that you took the initiative to seduce him, and sent me a video to say something. That video can prove that at the beginning, you first went to the room you agreed on, and he was invited by you."

Zaniyah said, "Cheney, I want to go too."

Cheney and I walked to the door together. When Zaniyah could still hear, I deliberately took Cheney's arm and said, "Cheney, I quarreled with my mother and ran away from home. I have no place to live these days. Please take me with you for a few days."

After I said those words, I glanced at Zaniyah defiantly. Unsurprisingly, her face was full of uneasiness, anger, and unwillingness. Out of the hotel, I got into Cheney's car.

Less than two kilometers away, I saw a small restaurant that was still open by the roadside. I was busy looking then told the driver, "Sir, please pull over and I will get off."

The driver did, and when the car stopped, I turned to Cheney and said, "Cheney, let's call it a day, the contract for the Dragon Bridge project is done. I'll come to your company tomorrow during working hours to talk about it."

He looked at me. "Are you ordering me?"

"Of course not, I think it's getting late..."

"You just said that I should take you in for a few days."

"You didn't answer, I thought you refused. I have already figured out where to live now."

He leaned close to me with an evil face. "Come to me."

"But I already have a place to live."

"Krista, do you think you can pass to me easily? When you use me, you talk nonsense, and when you don't use me, you just kick it away?"

He grabbed me by the wrist, pulled me into his arms, and whispered in my ear, "I'm still waiting to see your performance in bed tonight."

I was embarrassed. "Not tonight."

"Whether it's okay or not, it's not up to you. Since the project of the Dragon Bridge has been discussed, then you are my person. To be my woman, you must fulfill your obligations, understand?"

My heart is tight. Lockie is right. This man is a wolf. He can't be provoked.

"Drive."

Cheney walked away from me and gave the driver a cold command.

I stopped him and said, "Wait a minute, I'm hungry. I want to eat something before I go."

"Go back to the hotel, and someone will prepare dinner for you."
