We instinctively run towards their screams, and find one of them dead to a parasite on a lone walker. Once again, I point an accusing finger at the now awake Daijin. “This is one of your zombies! The ones that you capture and release at others. Do not deny it!” I yell. This time, I am honest. I do believe that this is one of his. However, this time, he counters me. “Well, when you came barreling in like the emperor’s calvary, you should’ve killed them all!” He says. I strike him across the back of his head, extremely similarly to how I hit Daisuke. He falls to the ground, screaming. I made sure to crack his skull open, just a little, just enough to cause him giant amounts of pain. He is bleeding internally now. “I will kill all of your zombies, and also destroy everything you own. If you repent, maybe I’ll leave your house. That’s it. Have anything to say?” I say calmly to him. He groans in response. “What was that?” I ask. “Okay, okay! I repent!!! I am sorry! I will not do this ever again.” He says in an obvious effort. He is holding his stomach. I think that it is strange, since I struck his head. We hear a ringing zing. He is holding a long dagger. I grab his forehead and chin and snap his neck. He falls to the ground. I take the dagger and give it to Hara. “A close quarters weapon for you. You’re going to need one.” I say. “Thank you, Riku-Sama!” She says. I wave away the thanks. “No need to call me Sama. We are all just regular people. I am no lord.” I say. We go back to the car and we invite Daisuke’s group to live in the warehouse next to the shop, and they agree that it is a good idea to have extra protection with their “new friends”. So they follow us back to the auto shop, and we welcome them in. They immediately find food, weapons, and other essentials. We start repairing the car from the hits it took running into the zombies. We find many problems, but the powering meteorite is safe. We hear a knock on the door. We look through the peephole and see a man standing there. He is one of Daisuke’s henchmen. We let him in. He seems to be a little nervous. “Hum.. thank you... We… didn’t like our master very much, and, um-” He says before being cut off. “No need to thank us. We just did what we thought was right.” I say. I invite him in for a bite, and I signal to Itsuki to lock up the car tight. He complies, and Daisuke’s goon comes in. Himari and Hara come in. Himari talks to him about what he wants to eat, and I go to Itsuki. Itsuki sees me and beckons me forward. “I’m sensing something strange about that guy. I don’t know how to place it, he just has a strange energy.” He whispers. I hide a grin. Itsuki has already unlocked perception. “Yeah, I sensed it too.” I say. Itsuki nods. We go back into the room that he was in, and we find him dead, his head blown apart by a bullet. His face looks a little different. Himari is standing there shoulders shaking, holding her silenced gun, which is smoking. “H-he just started roaring! And then- I- I shot him.” She is weeping now. I put a hand on her shoulder. “Hey now, you didn’t do anything wrong. You probably just saved yourself and Hara!” I say, trying in vain to calm her. It doesn’t seem to work. She continues to sob. “B-but I-” She starts. I stop her. “But nothing. I know it’s hard to kill somebody. But it is what it is. You did a good thing.” I tell her. That seems to calm her. She nods through the mascara running down her cheeks. We look through a window, that is by coincidence, parallel with a window in the warehouse that Daisuke’s gang is living in. We see them worried about who knows what. Then I realize they are tucked away into a corner, hiding. I see a zombie’s face close to where they are hiding. For a split second, a war goes on in my head between the choices that I can make: Save them or let them die. If I were to save them, we would have an unbreakable alliance, at least until they figure out that we killed their man. If I let them die, we would take all of their supplies. In the end, I let them die. We take their supplies and take care of the zombies. Itsuki, Hara, and Himari don’t seem happy about it. I tell them that it was for our own safety, and they nod and agree. However, they do it like they don’t have a choice. Now, with this many supplies, we have a new problem. It arises within our group quickly. “Where do we put it all?” asks Itsuki. Hara suggests hiding it. I decline that. “While we are gone, survivors are likely to try and steal it. They will rip the place apart and they will eventually find it.” I say. She doesn’t seem to care that I vetoed her idea. Itsuki suggests using it all, as quickly as possible. I veto that as well. “Yes, but what if we need an extra gun in an emergency, but we don’t have it because we used it all?” I say. He also doesn’t seem to care much. “What about taking it with us?” Suggests Himari. “We can strike deals: weapons for food. And plus, we will have that extra gun or bullet. Sounds good?” We all agree, including me. She seems to have come from the future, like me. She was knowledgeable, quick, and a dead shot. So we load it in a hidden compartment we find, and drive out. She seems to be quiet and staring at me the whole time.
Women.
There’s not a lot about them in the explanation I got in the Eschalogical survival skills lesson 10 years ago.
