I immediately raise my gun and aim it at his chest. “Who said we have to do what you ask?” I say. He raises his hands. “Hey, I just wanted to talk! I have food, and food to spare. Why don’t you come in for a bite?” He says apologetically. “He seems nice. Why are you so sensitive, bro Riku?” Itsuki says. “You don’t know who to trust,” I reply. “Anyone could kill us.” Eventually, I am outvoted by the rest of the group. We follow him into a small hut. “This is my humble home. I hope you find it cozy.” He says. I am constantly on my guard. I look around for booby traps or zombies. I don’t see anything. We eventually are served a delicious meal of ramen, composed of a mouth-watering beef flavored soup base, soft and fluffy noodles, fish cake, barbeque pork, and vegetables. Itsuki and the others are savoring the delicious meal and some sake. Hara had orange juice since she wasn’t 18 yet, and I didnt want to hurt her. Itsuki was slurping up the rest of his ramen when I see Daisuke. He widens his eyes. I give him a look. Don’t mess with us, and we’ll get along fine. It says. He runs to a different part of the house and I hear a flush. Just crapped his pants. I think. He comes back. “Brother Daijin, can we have a word alone please?” He says. Daijin gets up. “I beg your pardon, my humble guests, but I must have a little chat with brother Daisuke for a moment. Excuse me.” He leaves with Daisuke, and I hear the door that led outside close. “Man, that guy is an amazing cook.” Says Itsuki. Hara burps. “You can say that again,” She says. I sit there, perceiving what Daisuke and Daijin are saying. Powers, you say? Says Daijin. Yes, you must be extremely cautious around him, brother. I wish you no harm. Replies Daisuke. Alright, I will take what you say into account. Says Daijin. I hear the door open, and I snap out of Perception. “Sorry, we may now get back to what we were saying.” Says Daijin apologetically. However, I notice that he’s looking at me with a new view. He’s suspicious. I look back at him calmly, without a note of suspicious looks on my face. I finish my ramen. We hear a thump. I immediately raise my gun to the place that I heard it from. Aki the hamster comes scurrying out of a closet. “Skweee…” it says. Itsuki takes a piece of lettuce out of his ramen bowl and feeds the little thing. It squeals and runs into Itsuki’s bag. I sigh. “Itsuki, can you please keep that thing under control? We’ve had too many false alarms because of it.” I say. Itsuki laughs apologetically. “Sorry, sorry, he’s just so small and hyper. I can never keep track of where he is.” he says. I get up. “Well, thanks for the food, Daijin-san, but we really must go. Sorry for holding you up.” I say. I go to the car and make sure that it’s ready to rock and roll. Itsuki and the others stay inside to learn his ramen recipe, then Daisuke comes out. I grab the collar of his shirt. “Why the heck are you here?” I demand. His legs are clear of the ground now, rising with my anger. He’s grabbing at my hand, hoping for me to let me down. “Put… down… I… talk…” he says. I put him down, and he immediately swings a right hook at my jaw. However, I am on my guard and am expecting a move like that. I grab his wrist and slam my elbow into the back of his neck. He coughs up some blood, and falls to his knees, retching like the very devil. “I’ll allow that once,” I say, looking at him without a note of mercy. “And once only.” If he replied, I didn’t hear it. He was coughing so loudly, it could cloak any words that he said. He falls to the ground, unconscious. I take my knife, and slice it across a harmless spot in his neck, which resembled a flying sharp item that cut him. I wait for the blood coming out to become a mass of blood, then take him inside. “Help! Help!” I yell. Everyone comes running. “We were walking, then we stepped on something. A knife came flying out of nowhere and cut his neck!” I say. Daijin looks at the cut. “He’s lost a lot of blood, but he’ll be alright.” He says, slightly concerned. He looks at me, and I can almost see a lightbulb flip on in his head. “Show me this knife.” He says. I have already prepared for this. I took the knife and some chopsticks that I knew he touched, and rubbed all of his fingerprints on the handle. He sees it. He yells at Daisuke to go grab his DNA reader. My eyes widen in surprise. It’s like the stars aligned for me. Daisuke comes out with something resembling one of those speed guns. He scans the hilt. “Match found,” says the reader in a robotic female voice. “Daijin Achira Fujikage.” His eyes widen in surprise. “I never did such a thing!” he says. I point accusingly at him. “Why? Why would you hurt an innocent man?” Daisuke groans, and we all look at him. “Wh- wha happen?” he says, obviously drowsy. He doesn’t remember a thing. I think. “What happened is Daijin tried to kill you.” I say. Daijin stutters in his defense. I speak louder to overpower him. “You see that knife there? And that DNA reader there? That knife has his DNA on it, confirmed! Right everyone?” I say, directing the last part at Hara, Himari and Itsuki. They all nod. “Daijin, give me that DNA reader!” I yell. He complies, and I show it to Daisuke. He looks at it, and looks at Daijin in bewilderment. “But… why?” He says. Daijin looks at him. “I didn-” he starts. Daisuke interrupts him with a wave of his hand. “Don’t tell me you didn’t do it, there’s too much evidence for me to believe that now.” He says. “So, answer my question. Why did you try to kill me, big brother?” At that, we all gasp. “You guys are related?” I ask. “Well, duh, why do you think our names are so similar?” He replies. “I am Daisuke Aito Fujikage.” He picks up the knife, and promptly stabs Daijin in the left calf. Daijin screams. He is losing a lot of blood in a very short time. He tries to bend over to remove the knife, but it causes his broken bone ends to scratch against each other, causing him a great deal of pain. He screams again. I take a quick glance at Daisuke, and he does not show any mercy. Then, because of blood loss, Daijin is unconscious for the second time that day. Then, five minutes later, Daisuke dies of blood loss. We give him a quick burial. Daisuke’s gang asks us to take them along with us. We refuse, not too politely. They look crestfallen, and head back to their place. We are starting to head to ours, then we hear them scream.
