This girl was going to be a tricky thing. But I could handle it. I had dealt with my mother all these years after all.
I thought for a minute. There was no way I was about to hold her down and make her take the pill. And the look on her face told me she had already thought of that. But there was one way.
I pretended to set the pill down and turned to my back to her. I rubbed my face and slipped the pill between my lips and held it there. I turned back to Kiara. Her smile gave her ease away. She had let her guard down.
I walked towards her and sat down beside her on the floor. Pulling her to me I pressed my lips to hers coaxing her mouth to open. She did and I slipped the pill into her mouth then held her mouth shut as I took a sip of water and kissed her again. she was forced to swallow.
She grabbed me and shoved me to the floor. She pinned me, anger flaring in her eyes. I really did it now. Momma always told me not to hurt a woman unless absolutely necessary. I believe now was one of those times.
I wrapped my arms around her and rolled over, putting her in my position and me in hers.
"Calm down will ya. I needed to get that pill down you."
"And whys that?" She growled.
"Because it was killing me seeing you in pain. I was raised that way. My momma was strict about that kinda thing." I said looking down at her. There was no way I was gonna survive this, and it wasn't because she was a handful.
The anger in her eyes subsided and was replaced my hurt. "I'm sorry Mase. I didnt know." I sighed and rolled off of her. She leaned up. Her hair was thrown over one shoulder and her clothes were ruffled up. The pity in her eyes was directed at me. I couldnt stand that look.
I turned away from her, one leg in front of me and the other beside me with my arm resting on the knee. My heart was giving a painful twist.
Kiara moved up behind me and I tensed as she put a hand on my shoulder. "What's wrong?" My breathing was rapid, and I knew she could hear it. "I cant...."I started but couldnt finish.
"Cant what? Cant breath?"
"No. I cant stand it when you look at me like that. I dont want to see that pained look in your eyes. I want to see you smile and happy. And i want to be the cause of it. I dont want to be the cause of you upset." I did NOT just spill my guts to her. I turned away from her and got to my feet.
"I need to go to my truck for a minute. Excuse me."
I walked outside and closed the door gently behind me.
