Chapter 4 Lost a Friend

Ada was about to fall, when someone grabbed her.

A familiar sent crossed her mind, she opened her eyes to met those brown eyes staring her.

She look at the man whose face was covered with mask, she remembered meeting him when she was waiting for Ash.

His hands were holding her waist, knowing her position she was embarrassed but stood up fixing her attires. She whispered thanks to him and left.

Soon she was lost in the crowd, and the man was surrounded by media and people.

After coming out of the mess, she didn't know why her heart was running miles, she closed her eyes to calm herself, but all she could see was his eyes, those eyes which she hated the most yet admired the most.

"no it can't be him, his eyes were brown,and"

Her thoughts were interrupted, when someone called her name.

She could see Ash walking towards her with a worried face, as she said looking at her "God, where were you..... we almost left you behind"

Ada calmly replied "it's okay, I am not a child"

As she found Ash alone she asked "Where is Seth?"

Ash said "He is here, but his boss is in the mall so he went to see him."

Ada said "Will he drop you home? or we should head out?"

Ash said "Just wait a little, he will be here"

Ada and Ash were waiting near a food stall eating ice cream.

Ada could see the media also waiting at entrance of the mall. She was curious to know for whom they were waiting.

Soon she saw a man surrounded by bodyguards, pushing the people which were blocking there way out.

As was looking at him through the crowd, their eyes met, as he took a last glance at her, he walked out of the mall.

"*he looked familiar or I am just imagining

things...... maybe I am just triggered, because of that incident*......

I did the same thing when I was waiting for Ada in our college and I yelled at him.....

but why would he come here...... Seth said he was not in the country...... it's better that way....'

Ada was brought out her thoughts when she heard "Sorry guys I kept you waiting.... I think we should eat now, it's already noon..... so what do you think?"

Ash said "Yes, I am starving now..... let's go and eat"

Ada agreed to go with them. All the way her mind was not at rest, her thoughts were covered by him. Ash noticed something was wrong with her, she wasn't saying anything.

Ash asked her "Ada are you okay?"

Ada pulled a smile on her face and said "Yes, I am completely fine"

Ash sighed and said "Ada I know you are not..... you have changed alot from the the day I met you and now you are different now...... you were not like this..... please tell me if you need me"

Ada felt her words deep, but smile to make it up and said "oh come on, I am totally fine and..... we need to change with time..... you should also change..... I would like to see a different Ashley" she chuckled in the end.

Ash knew she was hiding something, but she couldn't help it. She lost her friend years ago, and she felt helpless as she couldn't find the reason for her change.

She still remember Ada being cheerful and carefree, Ada taught her live free from her tension, but now she has just became a robot, a living human without any emotions.

After having lunch, Ash and Seth left together, and Ada drove her car to her workplace.

She was just going through her design, when she heard a knock on her door.

Secretary Vic said "Miss Jane, Sir asked for your presence"

Ada walked in the cabin behind Secretary Vic. She saw a man sitting infront of Mr. Scott. He looked from some higher authorities. He was wearing a black suit.

She heard Mr. Scott saying "Oh she is hear"

Mr. Scott said further "Miss Jane meet your client...... the project you completed few days ago...... it was for their heritage villa in the country side....... he is here to discuss about the design"

For a moment Ada wondered, about which project Mr. Scott. She took few steps ahead, when she heard Mr. Scott said "Meet Mr. Evan Anderson"

The moment she heard the name, her world stopped, she went numb, her mind stopped functioning, her body was shivering, her palms getting wet. She stood their with empty eyes, without any movement, Her heart thumping rapidly. All the memories, all the pain she was hiding till now seemed to be coming over the surface.

After all these years, she couldn't bring herself to meet him in person.

She was out of phase when Mr. Scott called out her name. She composed herself and walked towards them, as she stood beside the person. She tried to stood as far as possible.

Mr. Scott said further "Mr. Anderson meet our best Ar. Ada Jane..... she is the best and the youngest architecture in our firm"

The man standing beside her stretched his hand to meet her official on ground.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Ada..... it would be a pleasure working with you"

The words pulled out by him, made her attention to face him. The voice she kept hearing in her heart, the same blue galaxy like eyes that she adored alot, long sharp nose, thin lips but with more matured facial structure, everything was just same just a bit different of age and some facial features.

But,

those eyes made her remember the horrible day once again, knowing the environment she held her pain making a way towards his hands.

In an instant she shook her hands and retreat it back with a buisness smile on her face, maintaining her calm and composed face.

She turned to Mr. Scott and said "It was nice meeting you Mr. Anderson.... I have completed the design and rest of the details are given, rest of the work comes under engineering department,..... and there nothing left for me..... then I should take my leave.... I have my other works pending"

She wanted to leave from there as soon as possible. She was feeling difficult to breathe in his presence.

Mr. Scott hesitated, but said "Sure Miss Jane"

She let a nod and left without having a glance on him.

Mr. Scott said "Sorry Mr. Anderson, but Miss Jane's personality is bit different from others and she is loaded with work.... please don't mind her"

Evan Anderson just nodded in response.
