Kim Ha Joon

I, Kim Ha Joon started to realise that my crush, Park Jin Ae approached me, not because she loved me. But because I was popular. After that incident of embarrassment and pain, I started to avoid Jin Ae. I wonder who was that beautiful girl and why did my heart ache whenever I think about her?.

As usual every day, went by like every day. I went to school, hangout with friends, came back home, studied, slept on my bed and had dreams that came as clips. Only the dreams I had made the day different. Days went by like a wind and soon I realised that i turned 15 and I was in high school first grade. Time really runs faster than it looks. It was already been four years and I didn't see that beautiful girl's face again. But whenever I dreamt, I felt like I ended up chasing that girl. I am not sure if this girl in my dream is the same beautiful girl that I have seen in those flash images. But all I wanted was to chase her down, grab her shoulders and turn her around to face me. One day I will get hold of that girl who still appears in my dreams.

As usual, time ran faster as it always did. I was 16 years old and was in high school second year. I went to school, hangout with friends, came back home, studied, slept on my bed and had dreams that came as clips. Only the dreams I had made the day different. Same as usual you think and you were right! This was only until I met that fortune teller lady. After all that tired studying at school ended, my friends called me over for a hangout. But I slipped away because I have promised my mom that I would study that day. So, I had to walk alone to my home. It was a cloudy evening, it seemed like it might rain anytime now. Thus, I ran faster as I could before it started to rain. But the unfortunate me didn't make it. I took shelter near a closed shop. "What the hell!" I whispered as I got frustrated. "Cursing for little things. pfft!. I wonder how you will manage coming great things" an old women who some how appeared beside me, spoke those spooky words. "Excuse me, what do you mean by COMING GREAT THINGS?" I asked her. But she led me inside a hut and I followed her without a word. Inside the hut, it was pitch dark, but you can see two chairs facing opposite to each other and a table with a crystal globe filled in with smoke on it, was placed between the two chairs. It was so creepy as well as real as in movies.

The old lady, maybe an old witch, was already on her seat and was inviting me to sit opposite to her. I was startled when she held my hands in her two pale, wrinkled palms. Everything in that room felt unusual and scary. I can feel the chill running down my spine and then she spoke to me. "Are you curious?"

old lady : Are you curious?

me : what?

old lady : The dream!

me : Are you a swindler?

old lady : Are you curious?

me : Yea, I'm curious to know if you are a swindler!

old lady : ANI! (means no in Korean)

me : then

old lady : ABOUT THE BEAUTIFUL GIRL, BAEGCHI! (Baegchi means idiot in Korean)

me : Daebak! (*means awesome in Korean)

me : So, you really know about that girl? and also about my dreams?

That's when I saw the old lady smirk in confidence and lifted her head with pride. Then she said something in whispers. I did get some words like "I shall quench your thirst with answers" and I said "yes" without hesitation.
