~After a few days~

“Wait, I’ll carry the bags for you,” he said as he snatched them away from me. “Careful!” I yelled at him. “Anyways, the uber will arrive in a few minutes and we will be good to go.” He said as he wiped the sweat from his brow. He wore a hat, sunglasses, and a thick mask, all three of them covering his face so that people didn’t recognize him.

He squirmed uncomfortably in his baggy outfit due to the hot summer, became jumpier as the minutes passed waiting for our Uber; which did arrive, but was terribly late.

A large black SUV came towards us and whose sight relieved Jungkook.

But as the car came closer, I realised it wasn’t an Uber. There were 5 silhouettes at the back of the car, but after doing the math, I recognized who they were.

“Hey Y/N!” spoke Namjoon as he lowered the car window. “Joonie!” I rejoiced as I hugged him through the window. As he hugged me, I turned towards the fake coughs from the back. “Yoongi, we don’t get noticed. She is too busy.” remarked Jimin to Jim while he mock-cried.“You guys never stop being extra,” I said as I joined them in the back seat while Jungkook sat with Namjoon in the front seat.

After a quick drive, we were at their home.

“Make yourself at home,” said Namjoon as he asked Hobi to get me something to eat. Jungkook sat next to me and whispered,”How are you feeling?” “I’m good, thanks.” I smiled. For a while,all of us sat together in the living room catching up with all that we had lost track of, but soon I was tired, Jungkook offered to show me my room.

“Call me for anything, anytime.” he offers as he walks towards the door to leave. Jungkook had done so much to me and I hadn’t said a thank you. “Wait” I called as he came back. “Thank you for everything. I really needed this,” he just smiled. I got this feeling I couldn’t really put a finger on. I felt nothing but euphoric since I was sick at the hospital, almost as though my eyes were opened for something much bigger and perhaps, better.

“Your welcome.,” he said, turning to go back out. But before he went out again, I hugged him tightly from behind;I wanted to feel his warmth again, I couldn’t get enough of it all of a sudden, this was never the case in the decades I have known him for. Startled but regaining balance, Jungkook smiled. Wrapping his hands on top of mine, he leaned his head back to rest on my shoulder and made eye contact.

“Well this is new,”  muttered Jungkook. His gaze on me made me melt into a puddle on the floor. Alas, Before I was able to process what was happening, echoes of footsteps came closer to us. Jungkook immediately let me go and I immediately felt empty and cold. “Well, I better go,” said Jungkook as he slid out of the door.  I couldn't understand why he had to leave just as the footsteps arrived. "Why couldn't he show his affection in front of somebody," I thought to myself, hoping he wouldn't be like Jackson. But I knew, he was nothing like Jackson, just like I always knew Jackson was never the one. I had always refused to believe it, scared about what the future would be like if I was never with Jackson. The answer was rather simple. I would have fallen for Jungkook.
