Chapter - I

The room was filled with laughter and chatters of the nobles with expensive elegant dressing and liquor in their hands.

Unlike the main hall, this room was filled with heavy breathing of *honorable lady Charlotte as Lily her maid pulled the string of her corset.

"Miss I cannot pull more than this"

"Well then that's it tie it before it gets loose"

"Yes Miss"

Charlotte stood in front of the mirror looking at her dress. Then she stretch her hand and spread her palm, Lily quickly handed her a blue folding fan which matches her dress she swift her hand and spread the fan and rest it near her face hiding her fine red lips and small nose.

Everyone looks at Charlotte as she steps down the stairs, heads high up, steadiness body and elegant dressing. Most were Charmed by her appearance.

Lady Elizabeth approaches her as she reached the floor, the two girls were known for their friendship.

"How are you Charlotte?"

"I am as fine as yesterday" " Thanks for coming"

"The pleasure is all mine Charlotte"

"That's a relief"

"Have you heard, Dutchess Silvanna and Viscountess Camilla were fighting over a rumour?"

"No I did not hear of that until now"

"They said that they Dutchess Silvanna caught Viscountess Camilla and the Duke flirt"

"Oh! But they seems close over there" she eyed their location. "How many times should I told you to never trust some groundless rumour Elizabeth, What if someone took advantage of you?"

"Ok Ok Charlotte you are so boring no wonder I am your only friends." "Oh!!!" Elizabeth hide her lips and slowly turned her eyes to Charlotte just to feel the dark aura of death.

"hehehe" she tries to laugh it off with an awkward laugh that did not work.

"Sorry" she apologized

"Forget it" Charlotte sigh~

The party was over crowded, Elizabeth was having fun while Charlotte was entering the guest she was tired but her face hide it so well she endured it like always she has gotten used to it as this was what the daughter of the Baron has to and there was no escape to it. Being a noble was hard you have to please other higher then you so you'll be protected and your business would be overflowing.

The night was finally over Charlotte was also find with sending all the guest home. Her family were busy talking about business, she went to her maid and asked her to filled the bathtub with warm water.

She soak herself in the warm water and sigh at the pleasure of it. The headache given by the tiring evening was finally gone and now she knew she was at peace. The aroma of rosemary filled the room and soothing her nerve down. Ther is nothing better than a warm bath after a tiring day she said to herself.

After the bath Charlotte picked herself a book and laid down on the bed in her velvet night gown. Charlotte loved to read books she loved novels, alchemy, knowledge. She felt that knowledge is the only thing that is worth her respect and would do anything to get her hand on any books that is worth reading.
