Chapter 1 : First Encounter

This is my last night in Beijing, China.

The day after at 11 am will be my flight to USA. My dad prepared an apartment for me to stay there. Being the only child, he knows that I'm not used to sharing rooms and things. Besides my family has good amount of wealth, so it wasn’t such a big deal.

I got ready in time and started for the airport at 8 am. My eyes were full of tears and so was my parents and friends.........

It's my first day of that university I dreamt all through my life, HARVARD UNIVERSITY. From my childhood I dreamt to study Engineering here in Harvard as soon as I finish school. So I had to work my *** off and although I'm currently not enrolled in the exact Engineering department but in Biochemistry, but I'm still satisfied with it. At least I got a chance, duh!

So many beautiful sights to see all at once, confusing me where to look first. Never thought I'd be in such a huge dilemma someday. I couldn’t take my eyes off as I slowly went through the gate and started to look all around.......

Okay let's get straight to the point, shall we?

As I was walking around like a dumbstruck newbie, my eyes got stuck at one place on my left; a group of boys, no sorry guys in particular, playing basketball. Though I've little to no idea about this basketball thing, but my instincts say they're more like pros. My eyes again got stuck like a spell has been cast on them. All I was seeing was their good physic and every aura and energy surrounding them, mesmerised each and everytime someone too handsome to look at jumped and threw a ball. I only watched football or cricket and that was with my dad but I gotta say basketball is awesome as well! All of a sudden a basketball came swiftly rolling to my right feet, hitting softly. I was too enchanted by those guys that I didn’t even realised it was there until I heard someone called me from behind.

"Hey!"

I bent down angrily, realising a second later that it was my first day here in this glorious campus and tried not to create a bad impression for affecting my low-key fan-girling trait which I didn’t know existed. Slowly I turn around, shocked to hear his stunning voice in the midst. Seems like I've this thing for rich, deep voices. But no sooner had I turned to my right, I felt like....I was going through an thorough X-ray vision and the scanner is his deep blue eyes. The lighest shade of blue I've ever seen, paired with dark blonde eyebrows, sharp nose but oval chin; soft, plump lips in between. The lighting in this indoor sports room made him look rose gold, all flushed for continuing this tedious game for hours... maybe. I tried my best to control my eyes that got widened by seeing his striking charm. Hell now I genuinely look like a fan-girl, probably one of his groupies.

I again got back to reality when I again heard him saying, " Hey, you girl, pass the ball to me."

"H-huh...?"

Can it get any worse? Look how I'm stuttering. Cons of being single for long 20 years of life.

I still remember, one day during lunch break, me and one of my friend, Natalie promised to one another, that we're gonna preserve ourself to that someone special. So from that point onwards, no boy caught my attention, not that I was interesting enough since I was used that introverted extravert, sounds complicated I know. But my steadily increasing heartbeat is telling me that this guy, standing right in front of me is gonna wreck my promise.

Still getting no response from me, he starts to approach towards me, slowly with caution; as if he's the predator and he doesn’t wanna scare off his prey which is me when he finally claw his SHARP nails in my heart. With the corner of my eyes I saw many burning eyes were staring at me. Realizing the reality, my heart started racing like never ever before. He stood in an arms length from me, making me look up as he's too tall. He's so tall and handsome as hell, he's so bad but he does it too good...

"Are you deaf or something? Didn't u heard I asked you to pass me the ball?" his voice immediately turned off my inner Taylor Swift in an instance. Guess not everything that shines aren't really gold.

I just threw it to him and ran in my highest speed. Well that was way too close

After a while I somehow found my class and it began. I quickly took my seat. I started to find him here and there but I failed. Soon I found out that every girl were gossiping about me. "Guess I became their centre of attention. Pretty cool, I like it." As everyone was jealous of me so none of them willingly came to be my friend except one girl. She took a seat beside me and started gossiping just like a known one. Her name was Vivian.

Because of her friendliness, I courageously asked out of curiosity, "Who was that guy?"

The whole room became pin drop silent and they all stared at me like I'm a criminal.

Vivian shut her eyes to them. Instead she asked, "The one that approached you?"

With embarrassment I replied, "Yeah."

"Oh, he's Geoffrey Edward, the hunk no.1 of Harvard University. He has got intelligence along with both power & riches. Every girl wants a one night stand with him or be his lover. But neither that he touched them nor that he pays any heed to the piles of love letters that he gets every single day. The one that tried to reach him, had to hear a bunch of ironies. He never cared for the feelings of any girls. Cuz he thinks that none of them are his match. Even though he's hot, but he's so damn cold. God knows what his heart is made of."

"Now I understand why everyone at that moment was glancing at me with jealousy."

With more courage, I again asked her, "What's his department?"

"He studies astronomy."

"That's why I didn't find him here."

"Such an expensive topic to study."

"He's a billionaire don’t you know it? He's dad gave him more than half of his properties."

We both kept silent for a minute.

She again started, "One thing to tell to, I think he's interested in you."

I became startled, "What nonsense are you talking about?!"

"Listen to me first. After you ran away, while he was spinning that basketball on his index finger, I overheard him saying,

'She looks quite interesting. I like her.'

Ron said, 'What the f**k did you found in her? She don’t have those huge boobs & butt unlike other girls who roam around you.' He said, 'You won't understand.'

Aubrey said, 'Do you think she's that much interesting?'

With a chuckle he replied, 'Just wait and watch. Things gonna get interesting.'

So you better get prepared to make a such a guy fall for you."

After the class being over I headed towards my rented apartment that my dad prepared for me to stay. The whole way I was just thinking again and again, "What was she talking about? Is she that much silly? How can such a high profiled guy get interested in me? Yes, it is possible. But only in my dreams. Sigh..... What a pity on me! Will I ever get someone like him who'll truely love me for who I am?"

*Will he really fall for her or end up shatter her heart into million pieces?
