You said smiling as you put the crown made of flowers on top of Isabel's head.

Today is a day off and since Isabel wanted to spend time with you, you took her to the garden near the headquarters since you can't think of any place.

You wanted to take her out to the streets to buy some stuffs but you might get called by Erwin or by the Commander for another assignment and things such that.

I'm sorry if I can't take you out today. I think Erwin might ask for my presence to help him plan for this coming expedition.

You apologized to Isabel as she was admiring the flower crown that you made her.

She giggled.

Isabel

It's okay Beauty Nee-san. I like it here. There's no such thing like this exists in the Underground. I'm glad you took me here.

You felt sad because of what you heard. Life must be really hard down there. You felt sorry for the little Isabel since she really looked so innocent.

Maybe if they really have another choice, they won't be the people that they are today.

Was life really hard down there?

She paused for a bit before answering.

Life's really hard down there. Most of us that lives in there dies without even seeing what it's like in the surface.

Isabel

People usually die because of leg complication because of the lack of sunlight.

My mother died when I was kid, barely could remember her. Father died two years ago.

Isabel

I struggled to survive until I met Farlan and Levi. They treated as if I'm they're younger sister and they made me live with them. Ever since then, the two of us watched behind each others back.

You smiled at the thought how strong their bond is. You can also see how they care for each other during the past week as you continued to guide them in their training.

Isabel

How about you Beauty nee-san? Where were you born?

You looked down and answered her.

I was born and raised in Mitras.

You felt guilty because the Underground City is just located beneath Mitras yet you did not even know what's the real situation below when you were still residing there.

Isabel

Wow! I've got a feeling that you are from a very rich family because of the way you act. You are from Mitras? What was it like living out there?

Isabel's eyes glimmered as she asked me.

You avoided her gaze and looked down.

I never got to experience to stroll around like a normal kid. Mom died after giving birth to me. My father was very strict. It was like he never see me as his daughter because of what happened to my mother.

I grew up trying to impress him but he never laid his eyes on me, not even once.

You said bitterly.

You felt the familiar pain again as you remembered your father and how cruel he was to you.

Good thing Erwin was with me. His father used to be my tutor and he would often come to our house and play with me after we are done with the lessons.

Is that why you joined the Military, nee-san? To get away from your father?

You nodded as you played with your hair that was on loose.

I enlisted because I wanted to show my father what I am capable of doing and that I want to know what freedom really is. I want to prove myself to him. That I am worthy of being called as his daughter.

Isabel

If I'm your father then I would be so proud of the person that you've become, nee-san. I wish a lot of people like exist within this walls. You were one of the few people who never looked down on us, you constantly cheered for us and even treated us very nicely. You are the only person who never spoke ill of Levi bro despite him being so harsh on you.

You think he's proud of me right now Isabel?

You asked convincing yourself not to cry and get a grip of yourself.

Isabel

Who wouldn't be proud of you nee-san? You are almost perfect. Pretty face, kind heart, brave soul and an intelligent mind. Remember if you feel like no one's proud of you then you have me.

Isabel's smile was so comforting. You felt guilty because you acted as if you never knew what are they doing here. You knew about their plan all along but you chose to forget it and turn a blind eye.

You believe that they accepted the job because that was their only choice.

They never mean anything. They were just forced to do it.

You said that you are close with Erwin since you were kids? Are you in a relationship with him or something?

You quickly shook your head.

Oh, no. We don't have romantic feelings for each other. We treat each other as siblings, I also don't see myself with him. We talked about us years ago and it's clear that we just have a brother and sister relationship.

There was a sign of relief on Isabel's face when I answered her.

Phew. How about that guy with silver hair on your team?

She quickly then asked.

Are you talking about Hiro?

You said trying to surpass your laughter.

Isabel

Why are you laughing, nee-san?

Isabel looked confused as she asked you.

I'm afraid that he'll end up getting single for the rest of his life because that guy only loves sleeping.

That may sounded harsh but Hiro really loves sleep more than anything else.

It's true, Levi was so mean to you. You offered to help him a lot of times but he rejected each one of them. You started thinking that he hates you.

I saw how you looked at Levi bro yesterday when we went out training on the woods.

You bit your lips feeling embarrassed as you remembered what happened yesterday.

He looked so school swinging around those trees. You just can't help but to admire him.

I was just admiring how good he is. That's all!

You instantly regretted how you answered Isabel since you sounded so defensive.

You have a crush on Levi bro, don't you?

She teased.

You said and covered her mouth as you looked at the surrounding.

After confirming that no one's around except the both of you, you let go of Isabel and she started laughing.

It's okay. I won't tell anyone.

She grinned.

He gets along with Hanji though. Geez. I don't even know why he hates me that much.

You blurted out wondering.

Isabel giggled again.

You looked at her with a questioning gaze.

Before you could even ask Isabel. Someone called you from behind.

Oi, Taichou. We've been looking for you.

You shot Klein a questioning look as he approached the two of you.

Klein

Commander Shadis wants us in his office, must be a very important matter.

You looked at Isabel and smiled apologetically.

I'm sorry I can't accompany you any longer. The Commander wants to speak to us, will you be okay out here?

Isabel

Of course Beauty nee-san. I'll be alright. You better go now.

No idea, Taichou. He just sent someone to inform us. I guess it's something important.

You and your squad headed to the Commander's office.

You knocked on the door and introduce yourself.

Y/N Hearst, sir. You called for me and my squad.

All of you entered and saluted to him. You noticed that Erwin and Mike are also inside so you shot them a questioning look.

You also saw five new set of uniforms being placed on top of the Commander's desk.

Your uniforms are here.

I still don't get why Zachary decided to give you different uniforms from the rest of the Survey Corps.

He handed each one of you the uniforms.

Keith Shadis

You are also expected to be heading out a week from now to survey the place and see if you can find a valuable thing or information.

The Commander stopped in front of you.

Keith Shadis

Hearst. I'm pulling you out as a mentor on the new recruits. Zoe and Flagon can manage them. I expect you to meet with Erwin and her tonight to discuss the plan for your squad's expedition.

Keith Shadis

That's all. You are all dismissed.

All of you saluted and left the Commander's office.

You sighed at the thought of going out outside the walls again. Facing the Titans.

Let's meet up an hour before dinner. Miyuki, please take this to my office.

You said to your squad and headed out to see Hanji. You handed the uniform to Miyuki.

You saw her with Flagon and the rest of his squad, you were also surprised seeing Isabel on the team.

What are you guys doing?

Hange

We'll be spending our time training here. We'll be slicing the necks of those Titans.

Hanji replied pertaining to those wooden figures displayed as Titans that were being put inside the forest.

Y/N

Can I join too?

You asked. You wanted to unwind because of what was being instructed to you by the Commander.

Flagon was surprised.

At the side of your eyes, you saw Levi glanced at you for a moment before continuing to set up his 3DMG.

Flagon

You'll be joining us?

You nodded and started putting the 3DMG on your body.

Isabel

Waaah. It's my first time seeing you fully geared, nee -san.

Come to think of it, you never really joined them train since they got here. You only instructed them what to do so it'll be their first time seeing you in action.

When all of you were ready, you decided to head on the entrance of the forest.

Flagon

Three, two, one...go!

As soon as you heard Flagon's signal, you quickly pressed the button and started swinging around.

You headed deep into the forest and spotted a 15 meter class dummy. You made a flip and sliced it's neck.

You spotted another dummy on the left. You changed your direction in just a span of a second and headed towards the dummy Titan on your left. You landed on it's head and quickly sliced it's neck before moving to a nearby tree branch.
