The Injury

Suddenly the front door swings open and the assassins begins to rummage through the room.
The General stood there in silence with his eyes close, listening to the smallest movements outside the closet door. As soon as the General heard the slightest touch of the closet door knob, he kicked the door down sending the assassin flying across the room.
The General walks out of the closet and punches the other assassin in the gut, leaving him to the ground.
Suddenly the assassin who flew across the floor came charging towards you with a sword in his hand. You thought about getting out of the closet but it was too late, you had nothing to defend you, so you close your eyes hoping for a quick death.
Naleah
I... I'm not hurt???
You slowly opened your eyes to find the General standing in front of you. His back facing towards you.
Naleah
(Did he take the blow for me?)
Suddenly the General fell to the ground but not before injuring the assassin. His hand clutching at his chest. You rush to his side and see a huge cute, right down his chest.
Naleah
No! There's no way I'm leaving you!
Keyan
The King ordered me to protect you! If you die, so do I!!
Naleah
F.. fine! I'll go find help.
You run out the door as fast as you can towards the entrance of the palace, when you stumble upon two dead bodies and next to it a sword. You grab the sword and ran back to your room, hoping to find the General alive.
As you enter your room you see three bodies on the floor. You immediately threw your sword on the ground, scanning the room for the General.
You find the General on the floor by your bed, bleeding out from the cut on his chest.
Naleah
Guards, guards over here!! The General is injured!!
Naleah
(I need to stop the bleeding...)
Your hands begin to tremble as you reach for the General's shirt, you swiftly and gently took off his layer of shirt, revealing his blood stain chest.
You tore pieces of clothes from your shirt to wrap and stop the bleeding from the General's chest. You sat there holding the General waiting for the guards to come. You can't help but feel guilty for what had happened to him.
Naleah
(Why.. why did you protect me?)
Naleah
(You don't even know who I really am.)
The guards came running in and quickly carried the General to the palace infirmary. You follow behind with the hope of the General waking up.
You see the General's soldier standing in the hallway as if waiting for you.
Lead Soldier
Will you enlighten me a little bit?
You look up at the soldier full of guilt.
Lead Soldier
How did the General get injured?
Lead Soldier
His skills is beyond anyone's in this nation. It's hard for me to believe he would allow the assassins to injure him so easily.
Naleah
I'm sorry, it's my fault.
Naleah
He got hurt trying to protect me.
Lead Soldier
He was protecting you??
Lead Soldier
Why would he be protecting you?
Naleah
I...I'm not too sure as well.
Lead Soldier
In that case, since you put the General in harm's way. You will be in charge of reviving him back to health!... For. as. long. as. he. needs. it.
You look the soldier in the eyes and nod in agreement. You feel this is the least you could do for the General.
Lead Soldier
Very well then, go wash up, I'll have Ma bring you another outfit.
Lead Soldier
The Physician is still stitching him up, he'll be done by the time you come back. We'll bring the General to his room, so go there for the night. He'll need to be looked after.
Naleah
Yes, I will do my best.
Lead Soldier
If you need anything, you have Ma.
Naleah
Very well, thank you.
You left in a hurry and after you got done cleaning yourself, you quickly follow Ma to the General's room.
You enter the General's room and Ma left for her night duties.
Upon arrival, you saw how big and nice the General's room was. It was definitely twice the size of that small room you were in.
You quickly walk over to the General's bedside, to check up on him. You immediately noticed sweat on his forehead, grabbed a towel and wiped it away. You went back for a second feel and realized he was running a fever, his head and neck was hot to the touch.
You run towards the door and shouted for Ma.
Naleah
Bring me a bowl of ice water and towels and some pain killer meds please!!
Back inside the room, you pull off the General's blanket to help reduce his fever and stood by his bedside to wait for Ma.
Naleah
(How did you get a fever so quickly?)
Naleah
I shouldn't have left you back there... I'm so sorry Keyan...
You spent the whole night tending to the General, checking on him every two hours. Making sure his fever would go down.
Naleah
[Smiling]Hmph.... you look pretty innocent when you're sleeping.
By early morning you've exhausted your own body and fell asleep at the side of the Generals bed.
Keyan
Does she not know her boundaries, falling asleep next to a man.
The General scans the room.
Keyan
Did she really stay up... just so she can tend to me?
Birds began to chirp and insects began to cry, waking you up from your slumber. A blanket covering your shoulders.
Naleah
Hmph? Where did this blanket come from?
You look around the room and it took a second for you to realize the General was nowhere to be found. You began to panic and rushed through the outside halls looking for the General.
Without even watching where you were going you bump right into a man with a mask.
You noticed the expensive clothing and designs he had on.
Naleah
(Only a King can wear such things?)
You took another glance and immediately bow in respect.
Naleah
Your.. your majesty!
Naleah
I'm so sorry I didn't mean to run into you!
Naleah
I.. I was in search of an injured person!
The King did not utter another word and walk right pass you, not acknowledging you whatsoever.
Naleah
Hmph, what's his problem!
Naleah
Such a cold demeanor.
Naleah
Whatever, it's not like he knows who I am anyways.
You walk around some more and stumble into what looks like the palace garden.
Naleah
Wow, what a beautiful garden!
Naleah
Look at all these beautiful roses and peony's! It's heaven here!
Suddenly a man from out of nowhere appears and approaches you. He was dress in high class clothing, but definitely not like the King.
Bryce
A new maid? I've never seen you around here before.
You look at your outfit and forgot you were wearing a maid's outfit.
Naleah
[Smirking] Sorry but I am no maid.
Bryce
Hmm, not a maid but in a maid's outfit. Quite controversial isn't it?
Naleah
Right, well you don't need to worry about that.
The man started walking toward you, you take a few steps back letting him know he's not welcome near you.
Naleah
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a matter to attend.
You turn to leave but he quickly grabs your arm.
Bryce
Why the sudden rush?
Bryce
You are in no position to resist me, if you know who I am.
Naleah
Let go of me! You're hurting me!
You were about to body flip him when you heard a familiar voice calling your name.
The red hair guy immediately releases you upon seeing the General.
Naleah
Keyan! I was looking everywhere for you.
Bryce
(Did she just call him Keyan.)
Keyan eyes the both of you suspiciously.
Keyan
Can I help you Bryce?
Bryce eyes the General in a taunting manner.
Bryce
Is the mighty General standing up to a simple maid?
Bryce
Now that's pretty interesting.
Bryce
Would you mind me taking her for myself? I would love a beauty like hers, right by my side.
Keyan
Shouldn't you be asking the King himself?
Keyan
However regardless of his answer, she's already under my supervision, and she's free to choose whom ever she wants.
Naleah
(Is he testing me?)
Both the General and Bryce looks to you for an answer.
Naleah
(I need to be careful, and watch what I say.)
Naleah
Thank you for finding favorite in such a simple maid as myself.
Naleah
However, I owe my life to the General. For that I cannot go with you.
A smirk made its way across the General's face and Bryce hands rolled into a ball of fist.
Bryce
Of course, I wouldn't expect anything less from the Kings right hand man.
Bryce shoots you a look before leaving the garden.
The General then grabs your wrist and drags you away from the garden. His face a little fierce as if something on his mind.
