Preparing for the hunt

While we are tieing the rope to each other in silence, Marshall asks “ hey man you neve did answer my question what is your special skill? I’m curious if our skills are compatible.” Wondering wether I should answer him I decided to tell him but I need him to promise not to tell anyone. I respond saying “ I was wondering wether to tell you my skill or not but it’s personal and most would say it’s a blessing to have the skill but I believe it’s a curse it brings a lot of attention and stress, so before I tell you I need you to promise not to tell anyone not even the commander okay? Do you promise” surprising Marshall response shocked me when he said “ yeah man I promise, but don’t tell me now we are being watched so don’t look directly at it but there is a servalince drone , I assume it’s here to supervise us and evaluate how we perform in combat, trap avoidance and enemy detections.” Pretending to check my suit I turn around enough to see the drone out of the corner of my visor. The drone was big enough to be used for surveillance yet small enough to be hard to see if you aren’t looking for it. There was the occasional flash of a red and green light that symbolizes whose drone it is so it doesn’t get destroyed by the traps and defenses of the base. “Hey Marshall” i abruptly say after we finish the rope attachment. What weapon do you use since your mastery and skill is close combat?” Marshall stood there for a second before pulling out a short sword and saying “This is the weapon I use I’m good at” but as I said but I prefer blades, why do you ask?” “ are use a gun so I was wondering depending on our weapons she should control the direction and he should control the speed because whoever controls the direction can fight off the enemies if we encounter any according to the pamphlet there are luna wolfs in this area, my gun should be able to keep them at bay for a while until I run out of ammo or do we encounter them head on, also do you have any extra blade I could use for when I run out of ammo I’ll be good with it I’m good with everything.” Marshall stood there with what I’m assuming was a puzzled look on his face and wondering why I would need a blade for my secondary weapon if I’m good with a gun, but I can’t say for sure what his face looks like because the black tint of the visor on the black helmet made it hard to tell what his face looks like. Finally Marshall responded while pulling out a older and obviously more used blade, handing to me while saying “ yeah I have a second blade, but it’s not as nice as the one I’m going to use so I hope you don’t mind also if we encounter any lunar wolves the first couple hours I say we fight them off and maybe collect the shards if nothing else that’ll give us more money and we will soon have enough money to buy new gear for each of us, I also believe that if we catch them and kill them our evaluation scores will go up but if we catch one we could train it in domesticated to be one of our service pets!! I’ve always wanted to lunar wolf as a pet they always seem really cool! But what do they eat?” Wondering wether me and Marshall should kill a few lunar wolves wasn’t really on my mind at the time I wanted to kill a few anyway, but I didn’t want to kill them on my own me and Marshall could share the money we get from them since he would be a major help with the hunt. I only asked because I didn’t know if Marshall would be up for anything like that, but it turns out he is. Now that Marshall is equipped with a brand new shiny blade that looks razor sharp and perfect to use on the moon with its shiny gray blade occasionally catching the right angle of light to flash in my eyes. We were now ready to move from our position towards the base and hunt some wolves
