Night fell slowly over the backyard. Garden lights glowed dimly, casting warm reflections among leaves that swayed gently in the breeze. In the distance, the chorus of night insects created an atmosphere that was peaceful, yet quiet enough for thoughts to speak louder.

Azalea sat in the gazebo, her hands clasped in her lap. Every so often, her fingers moved to stroke her belly, which was growing rounder. Beside her, Enzo leaned back casually, his legs crossed, his gaze directed straight ahead — but his thoughts clearly weren't there.

Silence. Then, after a few seconds — "He works at my company." Enzo's voice broke the stillness. Soft, but firm.

Azalea didn't turn right away. She had expected this moment would come. "Yes," she answered quietly.

The night breeze blew, making the edge of her hijab sway gently. She drew a slow breath, as though gathering something she had stored away for a long time.

Enzo turned to her. "Why didn't you ever tell me?"

His tone wasn't raised. Wasn't accusatory either. But something lay beneath it — curiosity laced with unease.

Azalea gave a thin smile. "Because I didn't want the past following us into the life we have now."

The words were simple, yet ran deep. Enzo looked at her for a long time. There were many questions in his head, but he held them back. He didn't want to sound like he was pressuring her.
