Episode 67

Chapter 68: Learning The Rhythm Of Business

"Amelia? Are you in pain?" Adrian came over quickly, his leadership authority instantly turning into the anxiety of a protective husband.

Amelia turned to him, her eyes shining.

"Adrian . . . come here. Hurry."

Adrian knelt on the fur rug in front of the sofa, watching her in confusion.

Amelia took Adrian's large hand, the hand that usually signed contracts worth billions, and gently placed it on her stomach, which now showed a clear curve.

"Be still for a moment and feel," Amelia whispered.

Adrian held his breath. He closed his eyes and focused every bit of sensation on his palm where it rested against the warmth of Amelia's belly.

At first, he felt nothing but his own heartbeat pounding hard with tension.

Then it happened.

A tiny touch, so faint yet unmistakably real. Like a finger tapping from the inside.

Tap.

Adrian's eyes flew open. He froze as if he had just witnessed the greatest miracle in the world.

"The baby . . . moved? Was that our baby?" he asked in disbelief.

"Yes. The baby just greeted you." Tears of happiness began to flow down Amelia's face.

Adrian, the CEO known for his cold composure and his refusal to be shaken by any stock-market pressure, now looked deeply emotional.

He lowered his head and rested his forehead against Amelia's stomach, his shoulders trembling slightly.

"Hello, little one . . ." Adrian's voice was hoarse, filled with an emotion he had never shown anyone else. "It's Dad. Thank you for letting me know you're in there."

The moment felt sacred amid the luxury of their apartment. The existence of that small life reminded them that true power was not measured by how many buildings they constructed, but by the bond of blood they were weaving together.

After that night, Adrian's behavior became even more unusual. He was no longer merely possessive about Amelia's physical health. He also became intensely obsessed with the baby's early education.
