Episode 2

“Good morning,”

A stout man appeared at the other end of the door. Mr. Li came to visit Huang this morning. Today, he just wears a casual outfit: a dark blue shirt and slacks.

“Where is your sister?”

Huang, who had been sitting on the bed looking at Mr. Li since he entered the room, went back to read his book

“She is busy for this morning; she said she will come after her business finishes.”

Mr. Li put a plastic bag full of fruit next to Huang's bed. Mr. Li anchored his back on the chair that had been prepared beside the patient’s bed. From Mr. Li's perspective, Huang looks handsome, even though he's sick. From the way the wind blows through the window and the light comes through his face, he seems like a fictional character from the novel.

“Why did you do it?”

Mr.Li snaps out of his daydreaming

“Hum?” “What do you mean?”

“Why do you let my sister be involved with your games? There are more students on your list to become your sponsors. Why her?”

“Why not? Both of you are twins. You know there are a lot of things to do if I want to take on new students, let alone this year.”

Mr. Li looked at Huang, who had been reading his book since he arrived; he hadn't directly looked at his face earlier.

“If you want to say something serious, at least look at me.”

Huang sighs and puts his book beside him before looking at him. His hazel eyes collide with his ocean-blue eyes.

“I know what you are worried about, but don't worry; she will be saved under my protection.”

“It's not like I'm not trusting you, but you know how ‘that' school' works.”

“Of course I know, but I want to ask you: did you trust your sister?”

“I can, but at the same time, she's hard to deal with.”

He straightened up the pillow before lying back on it. He stares at the ceiling, thinking about the school.

“Oh, how hard?”

“There's no need for you to know.”

“Oh?” “Is the Great Huang scared of your sister?” he giggled

“Stop mocking me.” “It's not even funny, okay?”

“What? Are you scared that your sister will replace you?”

"I don't mind if she takes my place because I didn't want that position in the first place; it's just a misunderstanding. She's kind of hard to deal with.”

“Well, if you said that, it would be more interesting.” “Don't you think so?”

Huang looks at Mr. Li before looking away.

“Nothing is interesting about my sister in this, Mr. Li.”

“She's precious to you, isn't she?” Looking down, he inquired. There's something in his heart that makes him jealous of their relationship.

“Of course. After both of our parents left, she became the only family I could depend on. Even though our aunty takes care of us,” he sighed, looking out the window.

“I just don't want her to get hurt again,” he said, looking at the bird that gave a worm to their baby birds. He smiles a little, looking at how cute the tiny family can be in the tree.

“There must be something that happens in your childhood.”

Huang quickly snaps out of it and looks at Mr. Li, who is staring at him.

“Everyone has their bad memories, Mr. Li. Of course, we were one of them,” he says, shutting his eyes and chuckling.

“Oh, mind if you tell the story?”

“There's no need for you to know; it's not like a good story anyway.”

“Humm, now I'm curious. Should I ask your sister what kind of childhood you guys experienced?”

“No!” He paused. “You shouldn't,” he continues, clutching the blanket. Yes, the memory should never be brought up again.

“I'm just kidding, okay, but you know how important this sponsorship is to me, right?” He was leaning back, he said, and now he's the one staring at the ceiling.

“Yeah, I know.”

Huang sighed because he knew how tricky and dangerous this sponsorship was.

“Oh, does your sister know how to fight?”

Mr. Li quickly sits back up straight because that's the most important question: do they need Xin Yu to enter the school? Even though Mr. Li will give them protection, that doesn't mean they have 24 hours of their will in their eyes. Sometimes they kind of get lost on the track without everyone's notice.

“Yes, she knows. She's the only one who can defeat me,”

“Ohoho? ” Mr. Li smiles brighter. He doesn't even know why he smiles like that

“Why are you smiling like that? It's creeping me out,” Huang grumbled.

“Hehe, nothing. After a few years sponsoring with you, this is the first time you open yourself because of your sister,” he just chuckles

“She's my hope. She's the reason why I'm doing this.”

“Then, this is the reason why you're putting "no sibling" inside the document.”

"Heish," he sighed, “because I don't want "they" targeting her when I wasn't here.” His eyes looked gloomy. He doesn't even want her sister in danger, even though she knows how to fight, because sometimes they can defeat even if they are careless

“You're right. She can be dangerous.”

“After this, I just want to move away with her. Far away from this,” he said, closing his eyes.

Yes, this is their dream. Close the old books and open the new ones after Huang's graduation.

“So that's why you put it inside the document,”

Huang began to be silent. He neither looked at Mr. Li nor turned around. Yes, before this, Huang needed to register before he got sponsorship to lighten her sister's load.

"Wait, I want to ask this; did your sister go to school, though?" Mr. Li inquired, "She's like so... free,” because they were twins and were 17 years old. So, of course, Xin Yu should be in school just like him.

“No,” that's only the answer he gives to him

“Ugh, seriously, why?” Mr. Li makes an annoyed face. Does he need to ask them one by one? Of course, they don't want the same mistake to be repeated.

Huang sighed.

“Our aunt can only provide for one of us, and that's why my sister gave in to making me go to school.”

Mr. Li can only look down. How can this twin suffer like this?

“There's no need for you to pity us; we are already used to it, even though she's...”

“What?”

“Nothing,”

The hanging word makes Mr. Li want to smack his head, but he's trying to restrain himself from doing that because he's sick.

“So, do you sometimes share with your sister what you learn in school?”

“Yes, you know that we always do things together, right?”

Ah, this boy. Luckily, he was sick in bed. If not, I don't think Mr. Li can restrain himself from kicking his ass.

“Welp, no, because you didn't even tell a story about her.”

Huang gives states before giving some annoying face at him

“Ah yes, because I don't want to let her meet someone like you.”

“What?”

Mr. Li disbelieved his words. How dare he say such a thing in front of his face?

“What?” “What's wrong with meeting with me?” He was shocked by Huang's words.

“I'm handsome and smart." "What's wrong with that?”

Huang pulled the blanket up to his chest and looked at Mr. Li.

“Nothing, nothing wrong at all but I just don't trust a man like you.”

Huang put his pillow back in its original place and dropped his head on it, even though the pillow was not as soft as in his house.

“What are you doing here? You should take a walk. Let me have some rest.”

Huang turned around his body before he closed his eyes to nap a bit. For a few seconds, Mr. Li looked at him from behind, but he decided to take some fresh air before he met Ting Liu.  As soon as he steps into the hospital's garden, he inhales the air before releasing a big sigh. Mr. Li moves under the shade tree.

“Well, hello there,”

“Ugh,” Mr. Li said, turning around. Looking at the tall figure, the same height approaches him. His younger brother said, “Brother, I didn't think I could meet you here.”

“What's wrong with that? It's not like your hospital,” he said softly.

His younger brother became irritated by his sarcastic remarks.

Their eyes are on each other. Two tall figures, like a model, become a talking point for the patients, nurses, and doctors who come through them.

“Well, why not? Maybe someday it will be mine.” He chuckles. “After all, what are you doing here? Did one of your friends get into an incident?” “May I visit them?”

He's hiding his smile with his palm.

Mr. Li did not give any reaction to his brother because he already knew that Huang's accident had something to do with him. He just smiles at his brother because he won’t give him satisfaction after what his mother did to them both.

“Did you forget that I have a share in this hospital?” “It's not wrong for me to visit to see the current situation.”

Mr. Li could see his eyebrows raising in reaction because he knew that was not the answer he wanted to hear.

“Oh, really, because I heard from a friend of mine that my brother came here yesterday. If your brother visits for a day, I do think I can understand, but for two days? ”

His brother just stopped the words with a cynical smile before continuing again.

"Or do you have something to hide?"

His happy face was already visible on Mr. Li's face.

“Pfft.” “Hahaha!” Mr. Li laughed, looking at his pitiful expression. He is always like this. Never try to conceal his ruse.

“Why are you laughing?”

“Nothing, I just remembered what Dr. Lucien said to me just a while ago.”

“Hah?” his eyebrows twitching again

“Oh, you didn't understand?" The reason why I'm visiting the hospital for two days, as you say, is because I was visiting my friend.” “Is it wrong?” Now, Mr. Li is smirking.

Mr. Li slowly went to him. As soon as he reached, he tapped his shoulder and whispered in his ears

“Maybe sometimes you should hire someone professional rather than a dumb one.”

He taps two times before leaving his brother alone.

Mr. Li quickly takes out his phone and calls

“Find the spy before the twins know about it.” He ends the call and walks normally inside the hospital.

Meanwhile, on the other side, the little brother kicks the shady tree with an unsatisfied face. “Argh!”

People who pass by quickly leave the place so as not to be involved in an accident.

“Oh, brother, it just began.” “Just wait; my victory will come." He spits toward a tree before he leaves that place, not knowing someone is looking at them from behind.

The mysterious man quickly leaves the place before anything happens.
